They stopped giving Trump helper monkeys after he ate the fifth one. A pity because those monkeys were much better at applying his fake tan than Trump is.Trump hates pets and they hate him.

Sorry, but... Brainworm Guy will not only start the next plague, he will actively promote it. So this time, let the stupid people who follow his edicts die without trying so hard to save them. They are they ones needed to be removed from US society, honestly. Self-correction and all that.
Purging the military leadership is a pre-requisite to perform item #7 from my original facism checklist.
So Obama didn't dismiss 197 officers? You just may have a point here, I don't know. But to prove it you'll have to do better than an editorial from IBD which is a known purveyor of hard right conspiracy theories. Got anything better?
LOL so now you're right unless I can prove he didn't? How is this any kind of argument at all?So Obama didn't dismiss 197 officers?
The truth. Trausti has an automatic distrust of any statement that agrees with reality.LOL so now you're right unless I can prove he didn't? How is this any kind of argument at all?
I spent a few minutes (literally all it took) looking into some of the names in the article you posted.
Gen Ham was in fact NOT relieved but instead retired.
Head of Africa Command not forced out
The Obama administration’s decision to grant retirement to the top general of U.S. Africa Command is part of the internal jockeying that goes on among the military branches to win top war-fighting assignments and was not related to the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in...www.washingtontimes.com
Rear Adm Gaouette was relieved after being reprimanded by the Navy for publically making racially insensitive remarks
Maj Gen Carey was removed after a drunken episode in Moscow
Vice Admiral Giardina was relieved after comitting a felony in Iowa.

So the IBD article was pretty much all BS. Is there literally nothing on the internet you won't fall for if it supports your worldview?
Don't forget his general demonization of the media and instilling distrust by the people by calling it Fake News.MAGA is promising to punish media outlets that criticised him. MSNBC is on the hit list. CNN is on the hit list. Daily Beast is on the hit list. And many more. But controlling the media isn't facist....
It is but it's also what Woodrow Wilson did, commies do, every other brand of authoritarian does. Almost nothing in this thread is all that much more closely associated with fascism than any other form of authoritarianism.MAGA is promising to punish media outlets that criticised him. It has not been common for generals to publicly challenge policies set by the president, but it has happened. In such cases, they've usually been fired.
The bedrock American concept of civilian control over the military essentially demands it, says Richard H. Kohn, a military historian at the University of North Carolina.
Military commanders must carefully negotiate the discrepancy between the enormous power they wield in the field and the deference they must show to their civilian superiors -- the president and the secretary of defense. Sometimes, they slip.
I posted a list of things associated with fascism, and pointed out the similarities with what Trump is doing, or has said he will do.It is but it's also what Woodrow Wilson did, commies do, every other brand of authoritarian does. Almost nothing in this thread is all that much more closely associated with fascism than any other form of authoritarianism.
I saw defund education as a sign of fascism, really where is that in Mein Kampf, mostly they wanted state sponsored intervention in education to indoctrinate folks but I'm unaware of any association with fascism and defunding education. This is all just thing folks think Trump will try and are calling fascist, not an actual list of things associated with fascists.
Like saying the Dems are commies because they want state control and federal funding of education. Which, I'm sure lots of Reps do. Doesn't make them right about that.
It's because there are those who refuse to see that MAGA is a fascist movement, despite all of the facts and evidence that show it is.I posted a list of things associated with fascism, and pointed out the similarities with what Trump is doing, or has said he will do.
Did you ignore it because, as a non-American, I'm not allowed to comment on US politics, or was there another reason?
It's because there are those who refuse to see that MAGA is a fascist movement, despite all of the facts and evidence that show it is.
But repeating it won't help. Somehow repeating only helps when it is a lie! It's because there are those who refuse to see that MAGA is a fascist movement, despite all of the facts and evidence that show it is.

It was a “love fest”.The same people who think that on 6 January 2021 a group of patriots had a peaceful self-guided tour of the Capitol.
You did and you highlighted some bits then a bunch other folks, including the op had a bunch of other things that are just bad and not especially any more associated with Fascism than any other sort of authoritarianism and in some cases, just bad governance.I posted a list of things associated with fascism, and pointed out the similarities with what Trump is doing, or has said he will do.

The list was from the Wiki page on fascism. You did notice that, right? The things on that page will tend to be associated with fascism, because it's a page about fascism. You did and you highlighted some bits then a bunch other folks, including the op had a bunch of other things that are just bad and not especially any more associated with Fascism than any other sort of authoritarianism and in some cases, just bad governance.
It's more of a case that they're dropping the pretence and admitting they've gone all in on him. It’s wild to see people who self-identify as conservatives that didn’t vote for Trump still reflexively carry water for him. They seem to want to occupy this weird liminal space between acknowledging Trump is terrible enough for them to vote against their own party but hey, pump the brakes libs, he’s not that bad.
It's more of a case that they're dropping the pretence and admitting they've gone all in on him.
That genorosity might work if the policy differences pre and post T****y amounted to more than "keep the racism and the fascism hidden from general view" versu "whip 'em out and wave them around like they were a length of wavin"I’m willing to give (most of) them the benefit of the doubt and believe they actually don’t support him. I think this reflexive need to downplay Trump is just them struggling to reconcile how far the party and ideology they associate themselves with has fallen.
Exactly, they can say they were just victims of bad governance. Don't call it fascist, though.not technically fascism will give them comfort when the military is ordered to begin the mass deportations
Gosh, this is beyond silly and extreme. The Democrats have done #1 repeatedly, such as during COVID. They did #2 in several swing states in 2020, changing the laws at the last minute to make voter fraud easier. They tried to do it in some places this year, but this time weren't able to get away with it.Let's make a checklist of what Trumpand the GOP will do to centralize power and turn the USA into a managed-Democracy, like Russia.
1. Censor the media
2. Change election laws in such a way that opposition parties will never win.
3. Weaponise the judicial system and DOJ to investigate and prosecute dissenters.
4. Give tax cuts to the wealthy and oligarchs to have their continued support.
5. Internment camps for immigrants.
6. Give the police unchecked power.
7. Use the military on protesters.
Please add and let's check off these things as they happen to illustrate to those who don't think Trump is a facist that they are wrong.
Good morning, Mr Putin! Nice dreams?Gosh, this is beyond silly and extreme. The Democrats have done #1 repeatedly, such as during COVID
60-plus failed court cases and Rudy G bankrupt says you are wrong. They did #2 in several swing states in 2020, changing the laws at the last minute to make voter fraud easier. They tried to do it in some places this year, but this time weren't able to get away with it.
Middle-income billionaires. The Trump tax cuts gave the largest income tax rate reductions to the middle-income brackets, as anyone who knows how to read the tax tables can readily see. BTW, a whole bunch of billionaires supported Kamala Harris, just FYI.
According to MAGA, if you look Latin or Middle Eastern or are brown, and you don't have an actual certificate of citizenship then you are, indeed, an "illegal immigrant". Born here? Anchor baby; get in the bus. Highly educated and skilled and might contribute much to US society? See above; get in the bus. Notice the theme?"Internment camps for immigrants"? No, "illegal immigrants." There is a huge difference. And if there are detention camps, they will only be temporary until the illegals are deported. Perhaps if some illegals entered your house without your permission and refused to leave, your tune might change a bit. We want plenty of legal immigrants who can contribute to our society. We cannot absorb millions of illegal immigrants, many of whom we can't track and who have no job skills.
"...so strong and numerous that they can overpower local police" ...who are buying up military equipment while the protesters have no weapons at all. Have you been playing too much Zombie Apocalypse games?"Use the military on protestors"? You mean like when President Johnson and Mayor Daley used the military against violent protestors in 1968? When violent protestors are so strong and numerous that they can overpower local police, any sane chief executive is going to employ the military to restore law and order. That's not "fascism." That's the rule of law.
But you just said it's all about "law and order"! Don't you want the judiciary to punish people who break the law? Just because it's mostly the stupid right-wingers like Giuliani and Trump breaking the law doesn't give them a free pass."Weaponize the judicial system"?!! You mean like the Democrats have been doing for the last 4 years?!
Donald John Trump.Who in the world has suggested giving the police "unchecked powers"? Who? Name me one Republican who has done so.
No kidding!Somebody has overdosed on MAGA kool aid.
We'd have to suffer a serious brain injury losing 2/3rds of our active brain cells.I wonder if they think their nonsense can trick most members at ISF into supporting The Party.
It’s most potent in its powder form.Somebody has overdosed on MAGA kool aid.
This. 'Illegal immigrant' has joined the other words that have lost all meaning over the years thanks to far-right groupthink. You know, like 'communists', 'woke', and 'leftist'. Even people entering the country to seek asylum, which is, as we all know, they have every right to and isn't against US law, are 'illegal immigrants' in the fascist MAGA world.According to MAGA, if you look Latin or Middle Eastern or are brown, and you don't have an actual certificate of citizenship then you are, indeed, an "illegal immigrant". That should be no surprise their guy always loved the Chinese government reaction to the Tiananmen square protests. Using tanks to kill protestors is part of the right wing dream in this country.This. The person you're responding to trying to placate us with 'oh but the Konzentrationslager are only temporary, you know, they'll go away once we've gotten rid of all the Untermench' was chilling, too. They're moving more and more away from the dog whistles and saying the quiet parts out loud. 2024-2028 will be a horror show.
Edit: The way they pretend there were no peaceful protests that were attacked by police forces in 2020 is disturbing, too. They're already rewriting recent history and declaring their support for violent crackdowns on peaceful protests.
