ETA: Notice Canada's sneaky contribution to the program? Since the robotics are used in almost every operation, for a fraction of the space station price, Canada is splashed all over this thing like some kinda major space force or something!

When Columbia landed at Edwards Air Force Base after its first flight, Lockheed donated the equipment we use to weigh large airplanes, to weigh the shuttle.
I took a buncha photos some of which the local paper used to illustrate the event.
I loved one of the headlines.... Disregarding all the effort NASA and North American and Rockwell had done from day one way back when to this landing..
