So what form does the resistance take?

Trump Administration considering suspending Habeus COrpus becuase he US is being "invaded",
If Habeus Corpus goes, then it's time to invoker the second mandment to defend indivual rights..as much as some here dislike that.
Link?

Have a lookie-loo.

White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller said Friday that President Trump and his team are “actively looking at” suspending habeas corpus as part of the administration’s immigration crackdown.

“Well, the Constitution is clear — and that of course is the supreme law of the land — that the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in a time of invasion,” Miller told reporters at the White House.

I really do think all was lost November 5. The best form of resistance is to join the resistance outside the USA. Let the brain drain, lack of labor and international boycott of the supplies the USA needs undermine the Nazi regime. Break dollar dominance and dump US bonds. Let the Confederacy -- let's use its real name now -- collapse onto its own supporters.

Building up the European defense industry is the best move. It's the one I've chosen, and the one I am actively working on. Thanks, Ukraine.

"it's just another Trump term. We will get over it."
No.
To start with, a big part of this isn’t more complicated than old dogs not learning new tricks. If you’ve spent decades writing the same ‘social justice gone too far’ column, it can be difficult to switch gears to something else. That thing that looks a heck of a lot like fascism, that must be a reaction to social justice going too far. Even for those with more valid projects—a critique of neoliberal capitalism for instance—new events were subsumed into existing concerns.

There was a persistent refusal to see Trump and MAGA as real, as an active force in their own right.

Whenever you want. The issue here is that some of you think some people are taking it a little too seriously.

Hitler needed killing. Several people saw this and tried, bless them. It would have been better if they'd succeeded.

So you tell us: How seriously should we take Trump's neo-fascism? Because some people think it's at the needs killing stage.
It has met that level now.
Without question.
It’s still illegal to kill fascists, and any person that does should be prosecuted, but they will be heroes in the history books

States will need to take the lead. California for one. Arrest ICE agents for being brutal in crowd scenes where they manhandle everyone. There must be rules within states. Not just habeas corpus but everyday crime fighting.

You're saying he's been deported. He's saying he's been deported. How do either of you know he's been deported? You can't find the order. He hasn't produced any such order. How can you condemn a deportation that nobody can show actually took place?
Jumping Jesus on a pogo-stick

I guess Trotsky was never a compatriot of Stalin

He’s in none of the photos, so drop it

We need to build a lot of extra prisons to incarcerate all the ICE agents, Cops, DOJ members and Trump Cabinet Member who broke the law by abducting and incarcerating people in violation of the law.

Protesters are now starting to appear in the streets as ICE raids businesses, their agents in full combat uniforms and their faces masked.

Hundreds protest ICE, federal law enforcement action in Minneapolis after restaurant raid

sctimes.com said:
Federal law enforcement officers raided a Minneapolis taco restaurant Tuesday morning, sparking protests from immigrant rights activists and neighbors.

Officers wearing the uniforms of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Minneapolis Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the criminal investigation arm of the IRS surrounded Las Cuatro Milpas on East Lake Street.

Protesters gathered on the other side of the police tape, shouting at officers and questioning why Minneapolis police — whose leaders swore wouldn’t assist federal agencies in civil immigration enforcement — stood alongside ICE agents as officers searched the building.

Riot police, anti-ICE protesters square off in Los Angeles after raids

straitstimes.com said:
LOS ANGELES - Helmeted police in riot gear turned out on Friday evening in a tense confrontation with protesters in downtown Los Angeles, after a day of federal immigration raids in which dozens of people across the city were reported to be taken into custody.

Live Reuters video showed Los Angeles Police Department officers lined up on a downtown street wielding batons and what appeared to be tear gas rifles, facing off with demonstrators after authorities had ordered crowds of protesters to disperse around nightfall.

THE NO KINGS MOVEMENT

The No Kings Movement is a nationwide grassroots movement against authoritarian overreach and billionaire influence in the U.S. government. With Donald Trump’s policies and Elon Musk’s unelected control threatening the balance of power, the movement mobilizes protests, advocacy, and direct action to demand a government that answers to We the People.

The movement is calling for a national day of protest on June 14. How much of an impact this will have remains to be seen, but hopefully we're starting to see the beginning of strong, widespread protests against the increasingly authoritarian US government.

What can one person do to secure democracy? More than you think. The next No Kings protest is going to be scary for the people attending :( . So much respect for the people who dare go. I honestly don't know if I would have dared, had I lived in the States.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) spoke with CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union. He criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard troops in Los Angeles, claiming that Trump “wants all the power” and is rapidly moving the US “into authoritarianism.”

Yes, I also hate the clickbait headline, but the actual video is better than the headline:

Keith Edwards discusses how the LAPD stated the LA protests over ICE raids were largely peaceful, directly contradicting Donald Trump’s claim that the city was under violent assault by radical demonstrators. While Trump invoked emergency powers to deploy the National Guard, local officials emphasized that there was no widespread unrest requiring such action.

I'm trying to find a home to discuss this rise of American fascism without getting the ban hammer. Reddit doesn't seem to be the safe place to do so, and thinking I might be the problem I'll try to keep my F-bombs to a minimum. Having said that what the f is wrong with America and how did we get here?

I wonder if this is rooted in the origins, the US created an elected monarchy, whilst actual monarchies moved to democracy. The Us constitution is too hard to change and has failed to evolve. From the acceptance of slavery , anti-Chinese legislation, to putting Japanese Americans in concentration camps to Macarthyism there is a long stream of 'facism' in Us politics.

Lots of folks have problems with the European style of liberalism and how they have "thought police" but they paid a very, very high price for allowing it to get as bad as it did, that we here in the States did not pay. We would have done well to listen.
