Yes, in a sense, Carney does probably hate Trump the least right now. After all, Trump unwittingly gifted him the election by making his opponent completely toxic.

My theory is that somebody (who has probably been kicking themselves ever since) once told Trump in a briefing that keeping the US bases in Greenland was important for security, because they were worried Trump was going to cut the funding for them or try to close them down because they appeared to be in the middle of nowhere doing nothing. But they overstressed their case, and that single fact lodged deeply in what passes for Trump's mind, and he came away with the conclusion that US security hinges upon total possession of the entire island.
His kleptocrat buddies lusting after land (Thiel) and minerals (the rest) probably keep the notion alive by Wormtongueing his ear.

Answer: Yes.
Probably and sadly not too far from the truth. Chief of Staff must be a difficult job as Trump is known to pretty much go with the last advice he hears.
Unfortunately he has his phone to bypass those ass hole advisors. Except Stephen Miller when they connect appendages like those flying creatures from Avatar when they think nobody is watching.
