ANybody remember the "Greeting from our boys in newly annexed Canada" bit from the opening sequence of the original Fallout game?

Sources say Trump plans to annexe the Great Lakes.

So that is why Trump has been going on about the 'line' on the map not being accurate or wrongly designated.

Trump likely thinks the line is real and just needs to push it up a bit.

.

That's the bit I live in so a hard no on that idea.

Maybe dudalb is right...I should think about buying a gun.

President Trump, in an early February call, challenged the border treaty between the two countries and told Justin Trudeau he didn’t like their shared water agreements.

He told Mr. Trudeau that he did not believe that the treaty that demarcates the border between the two countries was valid and that he wants to revise the boundary. He offered no further explanation.

The border treaty Mr. Trump referred to was established in 1908 and finalized the international boundary between Canada, then a British dominion, and the United States.

Mr. Trump also mentioned revisiting the sharing of lakes and rivers between the two nations, which is regulated by a number of treaties, a topic he’s expressed interest about in the past.

Why do I get an ill feeling that he will try to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America?
A tour guide told me whilst I was in Canada that Lake Ontario was named by indigenous peoples and meant 'meeting/market place'[iirc]. They were there first! Maybe there should be reenactment of the French and Indian War, complete with some British Redcoats! We want our colony back!

The French and Indian War (1754–1763) was a theater of the Seven Years' War, which pitted the North American colonies of the British Empire against those of the French, each side being supported by various Native American tribes.

I always wonder if the Mango Moron knows that "America" is a pissweak bastardisation of the name "Amerigo Vespucci", an Italian explorer who never even ventured to that continent. So he seems insistent on naming things after the one name that is actually inappropriate.
Wasn't the whole continent once called Mexico?

He thinks Canada is hoarding water North of the border, and by moving the border up a bit he can set the water free to run down the map as nature intended.

I wish I was joking, but I genuinely fear he's actually that stupid and nobody dares tell him.

Will someone, ANYONE, assassinate
this dunderhead already? Its well past due.
In America, we call them ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. But dunderhead is pretty cute and appropriate for Canadians.

Also, you're probably on a Secret Service watchlist for that, so be expecting a visit.

Edited to remove breach of rule 10. Do not mask curse words in the public sections by adding spaces (or by any other means).

I'll just offer them some poutine and see how quickly they defect

So the RCMP will be delivering a medal?

Mark Carney the new Canadian Prime Minister says the nation faces "dark, dark days, brought on by a country we can no longer trust"

In a message to US President Donald Trump, Carney pledges to keep retaliatory tariffs on US goods until "Americans show us respect"

Did Canada ever say, 'Thank you.' to the USA? There you have it.

Look it is to honor his pickles of course.

Donald says he's doubling the steel tariff from tomorrow and declaring a 'National Electricity Emergency' Canada has no choice but to become the 51st state.

If and when push comes to shove, what a delicious opportunity on the one hand: The good guys of the world squaring off against the interests of US state-sponsored and wicked-hick-inspired terrorism worldwide. Might not have carrier fleets and missiles in space, but none of that counts one-on-one. Canada is the premier and quintessential "good guy" on the global stage (even if no one is perfect; not Canada, either), and an attack upon it is sure to be a powerful recruiting tool. Hoo-wee!

Finally, movies about the bad guys will feature the stars and stripes (and star of david), and not old German helmets and arm bands. 'Bout time.

This one is amazing!

@realDonaldTrump on X, Dec 10, 2019:
America’s great USMCA Trade Bill is looking good. It will be the best and most important trade deal ever made by the USA. Good for everybody - Farmers, Manufacturers, Energy, Unions - tremendous support. Importantly, we will finally end our Country’s worst Trade Deal, NAFTA!

They seem to think it's already a done deal

Lutnick: "The best way to actually merge the economies of Canada and the United States is for Canada to become our 51st state ... Canada is gonna have to work with us to really integrate their economy, and as the president said, they should consider the amazing advantages of being the 51st state."

A former CSIS official warns that in addition to america's economic destabilization, there are other more covert destabilization efforts on Canadian society that will be tried in order to force annexation. I have to be honest...this is getting a bit scary.

The U.S. has covertly destabilized nations. With Canada, it's being done in public

He said those Canadians could be targeted by propaganda campaigns that sell American citizenship as the answer to their economic woes.

"And there will be individuals within Canada who could potentially be co-opted to push that narrative forward," said Bisson.

Trump administration officials have given numerous rationales for the tariffs against Canada, but Trump himself has said that he wants to use economic force to join Canada to the U.S. On Tuesday morning, he again said Canada could only avoid economic ruin through annexation.

"He intends clearly to try and destabilize our economy," said Elcock. "The reality is that if Canada is really impoverished, people may start to think about it. That's always the possibility — that not all Canadians are are going to be willing to endure economic deprivation. And so some may start to think about it as time goes along."
