Now, understand it's late and I'm tired, but I'll do the best I can.
The lecture began at 8pm, but I didn't get there until 8:30pm.
The speaker was John Zaffis. His contact info was available to take down after the show, so I did. His web page is www.prsne.com and his phone is 203-375-6083. His email is info@prsne.com or jzaffisjr@snet.net

I came into the gym where it was being held and the man was talking about idols. Mainly, idols weeping blood, oil, etc. He talked about channeling guys who had stigmata that wept oil. John actually played skeptic by saying the channeling guy had host wafers appear, but he found the boxes for the host wafers in the guy's basement. He also mentioned he told the guy not to charge money to consult him. (A show of "ethics" I suppose?). John said the stigmata stopped, but never mentioned how it worked, which is odd because he said he himself had investigated the idols. Coincidence? And coincidence John just jumped to the next topic without really explaining how the stigmata stopped after John himself said not to fraud people??

Next up: "Legitimate psychic photos" in a haunted area. It was a picture of a portrait of a woman. The photo was fuzzy. John said the portrait was not fuzzy at all. He then pointed out in the photo a "face" in the portrait. I saw nothing resembling a face. Just a somewhat fuzzy picture on film.

John mentioned Houdini exposed several frauds. It was as if, when John mentioned fraud happened to other people, since he hadn't been caught, it was genuine.

Mention of the Fox sisters. They made tables levitate. Their house is now a "spiritual camp."

John mentions nothing happens without a reason (my hackles have raised themselves about 8 times at this point).

The slide show went on to show Salem, Massachussetts. John told the college students in a matter of fact tone :curses exist. A judge who condemned "the witches of Salem" (no names, mind you, or time) was cursed. There are black and white (modern) photos of anomoly on an old couch that resembles legs and arm but no head. Why a modern black and white of a couch was taken if nothing was expected to show up...? Couch collectors?

Next up was Dudley Town in Connecticut. It's in Kent, CT (John said.) It's also cursed. In that town, the townspeople were also cursed, and killed each other, etc. John knows it's cursed. He KNOWS it. Up until 3 years ago you could walk around the town. It would let you approach but tried to prevent you from leaving. Okay, since about 1800's the town was doomed, cursed, the peole died off, you could explore it, feel the curse go after you to keep you from going... and now you can't go to find it out yourself.

One thing I noticed about John and his "investigations," is that the family, or work crew is scared. The occurences might not be violent, but people freak out and are scared and refuse to go back in until John or someone makes it better. It doens't matter if it's someone hearing knocking, rattling sounds or squeeks from another room.

Mention of spiritual attraction for places, at places.
-cursed movie theater; people would have their popcorn and drinks thrown while they were holding them. (A shaman cleared this theater out of spirits.)
-Newgate prison site, Connecticut. John says he felt a "dead feeling." The slide he shows, he mentions there were 3 skeletons found where he was sitting.
-Booth homestead, Connecticut. Very haunted place. John said the heat would be on "full blast", and the room would get ice cold, a cold blast of air would come through (insert sarcastic comment here). It's also a very old house.

Another thing I've noticed is when John tries to point out a ghost, it's almost always a tiny window or a small mirror at a distance. He has to point out (suggest) eyes, nose, head, body, etc. I could never see a damn thing. The one time I got up to see it up close, he clicked the slide and moved on to the next story. What I did see when I saw something in the glass, etc, were shades and shadows explainable by the time of day, the position of shadows, the glare of camera, etc.

More haunted stuff: items
John said items can be haunted.
-A civil war uniform hanging in a museum has had people see a man with a long grey beard walking around with the same uniform on.
-John took a pic of "levitating coffee pot." The coffee pot looked like it was shoved way back. Not levitating, but a trick like the "floating human" where only one foot is lifted, and it depends more on how one looks at it to think it's levitating.
-haunted grave of Alice who got sick and her brother found her engagement ring to a turpentine salesman around her neck (Um, did girls even wear rings around their neck 100 or more years ago?) Alice died, and it's said she haunts her grave and the river her brother threw her ring into, trying to find her ring. John shows pic of grave with the shadowy outline of a possibly female form.

Another haunted place: Boy Scout Camp that an old couple took care of and died. John shows pic of chief's lot. Pic of the Chief's lot room and a guy standing far off to the side of the pic. There is supposedly, in the far window, an image of a little girl, a man, and a woman-type forms. Yup, in the far window, hard to see, and John had to point them out with his laser pointer. The property was going to be sold to developers, but "all hell broke loose" says John and items went flying in the lodge. The developers abdonded the project. The camp became a bird sanctuary. The occurences in the house stopped. (sight of relief from the audience!!) And no, no one ever discovered who the little girl ghost was. (awww... says the audience.)

John mentions there are Human spirits, Ghosts, and Demons or negative energy. If you see a dark blob on your film it's evil. Red is evil. Light is good. (Remember that next time you see floating light blobs, okay? -Suezoled)

On Rt 202 towards Pennsylvania, John and pals stop at a bar. They are asked if it feels haunted. They say no. A shelf over the bar breaks and its contents fall. John says that is proof is was haunted.

John Says Demon possession happens. He's seen it. Therefore it's true.
John says the Amityville horror, everything the Lutz family said about it after Butch Deforell (sp?) killed his family, is true. John said "no one knows how Butch killed his entire family and no one head a shotgun blast." But the Lutz did find his little red Satanic worshipping room. Satan-worshipping rooms are small, and either black or red. The Lutz family still maintains to this day everything they said happened, did (nevermind the movie or books). They are down to earth people. Who believe in ghosts.

At this point, John says he himself is a Roman Catholic analytical speaker. He also says Buddhists worship animal spirits; there are good and bad spirits.

One case of his, the family suffered for 10 years, and had 16 exorcisms. This was another Connecticut house (what have we learned so far? Connecticut is pretty dang haunted so don't ever live there! -Suezoled). The house had sounds, bangs, raps, cold rooms. The possessed girl was supposedly in a straightjacket, tied to a chair, and she spoke in a deep voice, and broke her restraints, and it took 4 men to bring her down. This girl now has cancer, is dying, and wants her real story (John's version of events) published before she dies. John has mentioned he is working on this for her.

Southington, Connecticut. Huntinton in Connecticut a family moves into a house and finds out it was a funeral parlor. The famliy moved to CT because the son, Phillip, had cancer and only a special place in CT could treat him. This was 16 years ago, about. The basement, said John, had equiptment left. There were holes for the fluids to leak, cuz' back in those days (16-30 years ago?), there wasn't a place to put the fluids, so they just dug holes and let them leak in the ground. At this point, there's no $$ left for the family to move out. At this point, Phillip, who is living with his brothers in the morgue part of the house (John mentioned the mom was didn't believe in paranormal stuff, sh bought the house withoutlooking in the basement, and moved her boys into the basement. Cue the audience groaning and saying How Dumb!") Then, Phillip began to Change. He lost weight. Changed friends. Listened to hard rock music. Phillip talked bout deat, spirits in basement, and a man in a suit in the basement who he saw. John says Phillip was seen by several doctors who couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Phillip attacked Tammy, his cousin. He was taken away by the police. Phillip, (says John), screamed "I'm not here anymore. Now it's gonna get all of yas." So, of course, demonic activity starts up. Rosaries shatter, ets. John and pals are called in, and they spend 9 weeks in that house. Johns mentions he is a "researcher and a religious demonologist." He mentions things like hearing a chain rattling, from when coffins were hoisted up by a chain. Carmen, the mom, feels at one point she is in the depth of hell, because a demon attacked her. Or something like that; they prayed for her anyway, the John and Pals group. John then goes on to say he is going to tell a story about his stay there, and it took him 10 years to tell it. Everyone was asleep, but he woke to a cold breeze, a foul smell. John screamed for help, but no one answered him. He went to a set of stairs, and saw a dark shape with wings and no head, coming for him down the stairs. He heard it say "you konw what they did. You know what they did." People woke up when John ran and spent the rest of the night in his car. It turns out, after talking to x-employees, etc, that necrophilia supposedly took place at the funeral parlour at one point. John said he was called by his friend Robert Bishop Mkkenna (sp?), whom he told his story to (3 days later, but only this guy, I guess, and only once.) John said he had asked Robert "why me" and Robert had said, "The devil doesn't want you to help them. You faith is pure." So spirit was sent to stop John. He even has a pic of one that looks just like that one he saw... how he got it I'm not sure. (No mention of poor Phillip ever again....-Suezoled)

Now, John mentions there are Soul Victims, people in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then there are the 80% who do things like play with Ouja boards. They invite spirits and make it worse.

Phelps, Stratford CT has an old nursing home that used to be a mansion. Fruit would fall from the ceiling and furniture would be thrown. Seems the minister who lived in the house liked to play with Ouja boards. (see? it all comes together! -Suezoled)

Channelers and their dangers: a channeler channeled a spirit at a part John was at. It attacked everyone. Through the channeler. John KNEW something would go wrong. Thanks to that evil spirit, the woman hosting the party lost her home, her marriage broke up, she had lawsuits all over, it smashed her possession... all through the channeler. The channerls' picture was taken. He was petting a kitty. The channeler had dark, curly, long hair. You could see the face of a demon in his hair. (Well, I couldn't, but everyone else could...-Suezoled)

John shows a picture of a demon at Disney World. Moving on now...

Poltergeist (location: Tucksbury Massachussetts):
-No one gets hurt by them
-they're attracted to kids going through puberty
-no one knows why they do this (or even if they freakin' exist! -Suezoled)

John experienced poltergeist when he stayed at a haunted place, and the bed collapsed on him.

The 3 types of poltergeist:
1.) Water. Moisture drops; nothing stays dry. They break windows but the glass fragments slowly and falls straight down. On one side only.
2.) Fire. Can make fires break out. They can put holes in walls. But rarely on both sides. The sheet rock pulls itself down and up.
3.) Regular. Story from John about a woman who had one of those freaky dolls. It would be in different rooms. The husband finally burned the thing. John said this was a big mistake, as it freed the spirit from the item it was bound to. The husband was lucky because nothing bad happened to him. Next time, John says, bury the thing, if you must get rid of a cursed item.
-Story of another doll. It would, in her owner's sleep, follow her to her sleeping place, and scratch her ankles and bruise them. The doll belonged to a little girl who died in a fire. It was foundin some raftors in the house. The doll was returned to the raftors. End of story.
-3 foot wooden doll. Followed a little boy around. The little boy talked to this doll It was too heavy for him to move, John said. It would be in the same room wherever he went. Mom gets rid of doll. John takes him, infact! Doll is exorcised.
-Another woman has a doll. She starts having nightmares a day or so after she gets it. She gets rid of doll. The problems remain. In this case, John says, the spirit attached to the doll attached itself to the woman. Doll is exorcised.
John takes a picture of the woman's dark hall. It's dark. You can see a dark shape in the dark hall. It's an evil dark shape. Evil. Dark. Yup.

9/11 after the towers. This man has the audacity to take a pic of the monument cross. From a waaaay distance. Blurred image comes through instead. John mentions he had been trying to help a broker with his problems before the crash. He finds out the broker died in the crash. John claims to feel a large amount of spiritual energy here. (I feel angry and sick he would do such a thing!- Suezoled)

Sage College itself, where the lecture is taking place, has the Graphic Design hall. It was once an orphanage. There are spirits; there are students who heard them talking. Some of them... not all of them heard them.

End of lecture.

John was supposed to have a Q @ A, but there wasn't any time. So, I pulled out the big one: is this stuff genuine? Is there documentation on this being genuine. (John stiffens and then says yes, it's all real). So, I ask "why haven't you gone for the James Randi Educational Foundatino Million Dollare challenge?" He goes, "the who?" I said, "You said you practiced for 30 years. In 30 years you haven't heard about James Randi?" He said, "Oh, the amazing Randi. I'm not trying that. In all the years it's been available, no one has ever won it. I've worked with priests, researchers, the catholic diocese, and they know it's real." I said, "but it costs NOTHING to challenge and you have so much to gain! It's a free 1 million, and think of the publicity!" Nope, he doesn't care.

Now, this is a guy who wants to help people. This is a guy who risks life and limb and soul to help folks. If he wants to reach out to others, and make the world realize the dangers of ignoring the paranormal, if he wants to reach millions and help them out by making legitimate through the project of one of the greatest skeptics in the WORLD, what is the harm? What is the loss? And the cost? Here is a man that demons tried to scare off, because they didn't want him helping them. Imagine the blow to demons everywhere if humans were more aware of their activity and what could be done about them...? But alas, but question was ignored, and even reviled, as one student asked me, "why do you have to be so critical?" And I had asked in return, "why are you so accepting?' No audible reply came forth.

So, that is my first lecture about demonolgy and the like. My head exploded about 2 dozen times. I've bitten my lip bloody to keep quiet and just take notes. I took notes from the moment I sat down.

Now, I apologize if this is poorly written. As I said, I am tired, it's been a long day. Thank you for bearing with me. I hope to clean this up later.

Great report Suezo.

Sounds like the usual crap and you asked the guy the proper evidence. "Where's the beef?" It seems like it was beef alright, beef balogna...

In the words of that infamous Mayfloer, "AAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" AKA: Why you need a ghostbuster!

Note: these pics are pathetic. This man is pathetic. But people at the college BELIEVED. He said "there are ghosts." He said "There are demons" He said "demonic possessions exist." Way to feed off other people's fears and capitalize on their insecurity.
The History of Demonology is one that is quite unclear before 1160 B.C. But writings from 1170 B.C. states that Magic was first conceived in a city called Persida and that a Nomad named Klingsor traveled there and brought back with him the art of Magically effecting whatever he wished. When Klingsor found the strength of his true powers he began to brag about how sly and cunning he was to get women into bed, but that served him no justice after he got caught sleeping with the kings wife (The Queen).

You don't need no stinkin' evidence. Not when this man SAYS IT'S THE TRUTH.

man, I gotta calm down...
