Popular galaxy theory might be wrong

Five billion years from now, after the earth has been engulfed by its sun's evolution into a red giant, the possibility of our galaxy colliding with another might possibly become a topic of conversation for the Global/International subsection of the Current Events subforum.

Didn't you mean the Intergalactic subsection?

We now know that there is a very good chance that we may avoid that scary destiny.”
In fact, the chance that we avoid it is 100%.

'might be wrong'

Doesn't that apply to any theory, however popular?
2% chance of a collision in the originally-predicted timeframe, once other masses in the local cluster are taken into account. Rises to a 50% in double the originally-predicted timeframe.

Personally, I think it's kind of nice for the headline to understate things, for a change.
