Anyone following this bizarre story?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Alahverdian

He's an American convicted sex offender, facing various new charges in both the USA and the UK, who faked his own death in 2020 and now lives in Scotland with his wife under the name Arthur Knight.

He claims that he isn't Nicholas Rossi, and that the reason his fingerprints and tattoos match Nicholas Rossi is because while he was unconcious with Covid in a Scottish hospital, the staff changed his fingerprints and tattooed his arms.

This week, a sheriff's court determined that he could be extradited to the USA. However, there is an allegation of rape against him in the UK which will need to be investigated before he can be extradited.

I'm listening to a fascinating podcast series on Audible called I Am Not Nicholas where the podcast host initially believed that Rossi was actually Arthur Knight from Ireland, but later came to realise that he's an inveterate liar.

Yes, to a degree.
I know someone here in Ireland who was engaged by a supporter in the UK to attempt to find evidence that 'Rossi' was indeed Knight. However 'Rossi' was unable to provide any support for his alleged Irish background, nor was he to pay for her services.
Having met him, she described him as a manipulative, narcissistic, sociopath. She compared him to MacArthur, whom she's met professionlly.

Looks like he's laying the groundwork for an insanity defense.

This part of the Wikipedia article literally made me LOL: "On November 28, 2022 Essex Police in England confirmed Rossi is under investigation for an alleged rape there, which would likely delay any extradition to the United States should this result in charges. On January 5, 2023, his application to be released on bail was refused. He claimed he was being 'taunted' by remand prisoners at HM Prison Edinburgh singing John Denver’s song 'Leaving on a Jet Plane' to him. [notes omitted]" :D
