Motion to Censure MTG

I wish she'd do something about her hair. Leaving aside the bad bleach job, which is inevitable with a certain sort of person and cannot be fixed, the long straight 'do just emphasizes by contrast how puffy and toadlike her face is. There's a reason most Karens shift to short hair with ascending volume: it draws the eye upward and away from the jowls, de-toadifying a face by up to 60%. She could even keep the length but wear it up, it might almost simulate dignity --until she opens her mouth, anyway.

Frankly, if I were a GOP house member, I would hope that MTG vanishes from the face of the earth. She is a bad look for them.
It is not a secret that behind closed doors, a lot of GOP house members think she is a total idiot.

Wow, really? Many of the charges that Rep. Balint lists are bogus--many, but not all. Have any of you who are condemning MTG and endorsing the censure resolution bothered to read anything that defends MTG against these charges? Don't some of the charges sound unbelievable on their face? I don't agree with many of MTG's views, but many of the charges in the censure motion are invalid.

Take, for example, MTG's recent vote against the anti-antisemitism bill. Rep. Balint conveniently failed to mention that many radical liberals also opposed that bill, claiming that its definition of anti-semitism was too broad and would improperly restrict criticism of Israel. Most of you know that I am about as pro-Israel, pro-Jewish, and pro-Judaism as one can get. Personally, I wold have voted for the bill even though I see room for concern about the bill's very broad definition of anti-semitism.

The claim that MTG is anti-Israel is false. Are you aware that MTG has a long record of voting for military aid for Israel? She has occasionally voiced a few criticisms of certain Israeli policies, but she has always ardently defended Israel's right to exist and has almost always voted for increases in military aid to Israel.

If any members of Congress have proved themselves to be anti-Israel, they are Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Andre Carson, Al Green, Summer Lee, AOC, Delia Ramirez, Ayanna Pressley, Pramila Jayapal, and Ilhan Omar. But these are all woke liberals, so they get a pass by other liberals, I guess.

If you were a GOP house member, you'd be an atypical one. You have a set of principles and a spine. Both of those are notably absent in GOP house members.

As far as GOP house members goes, MTG is right on message. You regularly claim that GOP members of Congress have serious doubts about Trump, Musk, MTG and other people you find distasteful. While this may be true, there's no evidence of it as far as I can see.

What YOU "conveniently failed to mention" is that Rep. Balint never mentioned the antisemitism bill in her dozens and dozens of examples of MTG's bigoted, racist, anti-LGBTQ, etc. comments. And that's because that video is from October 26, 2023 and MTG voted against the bill on May 2, 2024. And a vote 16 months ago is not 'recent', either.

If MTG has not made antisemitic remarks, then why was her sanctioning in 2021 for just such remarks supported by Jewish organizations?

MTG's Feb. 2021 sanction and removal from committees was praised by the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, the progressive Jewish group Bend the Arc, and the conservative pro-Israel Christians United for Israel Action Fund.

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Atlanta and the the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas also supported the sanction.

And, please, do try and not use the knee-jerk 'radical' or 'woke' in front of 'liberal' all the time. It's just so Trumpy.

MTG; a very good reason why Georgia really, really, needs another little visit from General Sherman.
