Mass stabbing in the UK

BBC report on one adult victim apparently requiring surgery but not in a life-threatening condition.

Jonathan Hayes, 63, ran into the dance studio from his office next door after hearing screams, his wife tells the paper. He is due for surgery later.

"He heard screams and went outside, saw the attacker, saw that he had hurt a child and tried to take the knife off him and got stabbed in the leg," his wife, Helen, says.

"He’s very upset that he wasn’t able to be more help. Physically he will be ok, mentally I don’t know.”
 
Police have released a statement that the attacker was born in Cardiff, living in Banks and not naming him because of his age. Prominent right wing figures such as Fox are retweeting and amplifying a false report that it was committed by an asylum seeker called Ali Al-Shakati who was on an MI6 watch list (being in the UK it would be MI5 anyway).
 
Twitter-X cesspit desperate for the attacker to be a Muslim asylum seeker. Even when the police said he is from Cardiff, still they are desperate to know if he has an 'English' name. One started a rumour that his last name was a Dravidian Hindu Indian name yet it was prefixed 'Al'- an Arabic (Muslim) name depicting royalty, so obviously a made-up name to stir up race hatred. It is pathetic.

by national policing capabilities to counter the threat.
This means that the national policing response to violence against
women and girls should be on a par with terrorism and serious and organised crime.

In any case this was the policy of the last conservative government so likely to be reversed.

Because the VAWG/terror scheme was a press stunt. Though Cooper is applying pressure.

BTW, the arrested suspect is from the Banks [a village is Lancashire] though was born in Cardiff.

Merseyside Police did say 'as of this stage'. The guy is still being interviewed by detectives. For a 17-year-old to do this is extra tragic and they will want to have some idea of motive. Misogyny? Mental illness (it's a cliché but a real possibility) or a publicity seeker like the West Virginia Tech, Cho shooter, who claimed he was bullied by his peers. It does seem to be a trend with teenage mass killers of having a grudge against perceived slights, together with an urge for 15-minutes of fame.

If, as the TELEGRAPH is claiming he arrived aged 6 with asylum seeker Rwandan parents, who knows what generational trauma has been handed down. Given only 2% of Rwandans are Muslim (most of the Sunni sect) it doesn't seem on the face of it Islamist terrorism. Most likely screwed up angry teenager. Targetted young girls because it's an easy target, so yes, a misogynist element that he didn't pick on boys.

Thomas Hamilton killed lots of children in Dunblane because of his grievances about opposition to him running clubs for boys. Horrett Irving Campbell stabbed children in a nursery in Wolverhampton because of voices in his head.

Why would you want to burn a mosque? Rwanda is majority Christian, as in over 95%. Or do you have some information that hasn't been released to the general public?

Nah, no specific reason. Just burn something. Blame somebody. Justice. Prevention. Or even just revenge. Easy to want, hard to get.

I wonder about sentencing. Recently we've only heard about really weak sentences from UK, but I guess (I hope) it's outliers. Obviously you can't lock every freak for life .. but it would be ideal from prevention stand point.

Last week young woman who killed 2 kids in illegal car race in Poland got life. That seemed a bit harsh, but she had priors in the same area, she had revoked license. Not sure if it will deter anyone, but at least you can feel some kind of justice.

Here obviously, anything else than life would be outrageous.

Hundreds of people gathered outside a mosque and began throwing bricks, bottles and other missiles at the mosque and police numerous police injured and a police van set on fire was injured.

You didn't get your mosque burned but will a police van do?

"At around 7.45pm, a large group of people – believed to be supporters of the English Defence League – began to throw items towards a local mosque on St Luke’s Road in Southport.

"Officers who are deployed are currently dealing with criminal behaviour and violence with bottles and wheelie bins being thrown at them."

"As a result, an officer has suffered a suspected broken nose and police vehicles have been damaged and set alight.

"Additional patrols are now in attendance, including the Dog Section."

What kind of a prick tries to make political capital out of a grieving community to push their vile agenda? Attacking the same police force that had to deal with a traumatic mass murder of little children by stabbing. Along comes a few football hooligan types from outside the area encouraged by Russian misinformation bots looking for a ruck. Utter contemptible bastards. No respect for the families of the victims of yesterday's tragedy at all.

Tice, Farage and Anderson, released 'statements' on the stabbings, repeating the lies about the identity of the attacker and blaming it on uncontrolled immigration and Muslims.
