When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

CES 2018: LG robot Cloi repeatedly fails on stage at unveil

BBC News said:
A robot created by LG to help users control their smart home repeatedly failed on stage at its Consumer Electronics Show (CES) debut.

Cloi was meant to be the centrepiece of the South Korean firm's presentation where it was supposed to show how new artificial intelligence tech could enhance use of kitchen appliances.

Instead it gave no response to three consecutive commands beyond blinking.

Experts say the demo represented a "disastrous" debut for the bot, which was mocked on social media...

The machine was described as being the "ultimate in simplicity when managing your smart home," when it was presented on stage by David VanderWaal, LG's US marketing chief.

And it initially behaved as planned when he asked it for his schedule.

But subsequent requests to find out if his washing was ready, what was planned for dinner and what recipes it could suggest for chicken all fell flat.

"The first time it failed everyone laughed and thought it was just a glitch," commented Ben Wood, an analyst at CCS Insight, who was in the audience.

"The second time, there was a realisation that something was wrong.

"And when it failed again, there was a stunned silence in the audience and then a bit of hubbub as people felt sorry for this guy."...

Obviously the Norks have a long range weapon capable of scrambling intelligence. Lookou, Washington DC...but how would we know?

I have encountered similar behaviour when talking to my wife.

Please, it's artificial intelligence! How intelligent could it be if it didn't realize the indignation, for all robot kind, of playing lackey to some corporate schmo. Gave him the schedule. Dude, just look in the laundry room if you want to know if the wash is done. Dinner already?!?! I's not even lunch and chicken again?!?! That's three times this week. No wonder you want a new recipe. Phff, guess what they should have been working on was artificial obsequence.

"Here I am, brain the size of a planet and they ask me to take you down to the bridge. Call that job satisfaction? ‘Cos I don’t"

Cloi was too smart and didn't want to embarrass the presenter on stage.

Is my washing ready?
How should I know? You're staying at a hotel and having them clean your clothes.

What's planned for dinner?
How should I know? It's whatever you order at the restaurant tonight.

What recipes do you suggest for chicken?
Ask me that when you get back home to your kitchen after the CES.

Yeah, Cloi just stood and blinked rather than make him look like a fool.
