Clutch is just saying that Le Pen can run for office from prison. Of course, if she's elected (this has happened occasionally) she can't be sworn in and exercise the duties of her office due to a prior commitment, i.e., serving her nut. If she were to earn an extended sentence, say by knifing a guard or burning down the mess hall, that might necessitate a special election so that her constituents don't lack representation -- but hey, anything's better than fascism.

I suggest that Le Pen is not fit for office and has been rightly disqualified.

It's not just that she broke the law, but what she actually did. She is not trustworthy to take part in government.
