I've heard his name for a few years, but I was blissfully unaware of any facts. I get the distinct impression from his post that he's antisemitic, what with the scare quotes and the JAQing off.

Alas, that's not a characteristic that's troublesome to Samson. That's the cesspool he swims in.

His fan base in the comments section are a bit more explicit.

He's clearly a misunderstood genius!

He's a disgusting human being, and I use the term "human being" generically in his case, because I'm not certain he is one. He's a piece of **** dressed up as an exceedingly fat bastard.

He enabled vast amounts of child sexual exploitation to proliferate and trade through Megaupload, and is a bully who's able to get away with bullying people because he surrounds himself with highly-paid bodyguards.

Despite being almost 2m tall, (and about 900kg) he'd be a very easybeat in any physical contest and my 15 year old would kick his arse.

Vile, vile man.

He even took time to prove his cowardice when the cops raided his house and he locked himself in the safe room. (Admittedly, the police response was insane, with multiple helicopters and armed police when they could have just walked up and arrested him.)

That said...

I suspect that as a person he is not pleasant. But I don't think what he did should be a crime, this seems to me a civil suit.

Since the child exploitation isn't covered in the criminal charges against him, you're 100% correct - it shouldn't be a crime and the extradition shouldn't happen. The only reason it got as far as it did was Barack Obama wanting to appease some PTB in entertainment and John Key brown-nosing Obama.

A quick internet search informs me that he's also accused of money laundering, racketeering and wire fraud.

He's been convicted of embezzlement, computer fraud, data theft, insider trading and dangerous driving, amongst other offences. His fans don't seem to care.

I know a lot of people who have protested and spoken out about the extradition and every one of them is well aware of what a toxic fat prick Dotcom is.

Also, it's worth noting that he hasn't been convicted of anything in USA. He is charged with crimes.

What they - and I - object to is the NZ government dancing to USA's tune for alleged crimes (in America) that are almost entirely victimless. None of the horrific things Dotcom has been charged with fit the standard of extradition and the courts' collective dismissal of appeals is an abuse of the justice process. We now have the situation that three of NZ's most-respected senior judges have found no grounds for extradition, while politically-influenced courts have found the opposite.

It's no secret that Labour refused to sign the extradition for those exact reasons and as Luxon has snuggled up to America, he wants to show his obeisance by giving them Dotcom. The case against Dotcom in NZ has been 100% politically motivated, right from the time the stupid pigs decided to send in their helicopter-borne SWAT team. (For which they were required to compensate Dotcom due to excessive use of force)

I imagine 99.999% of Kiwis have no issue with violent criminals and murderers being extradited, but copyright fraud? Ridiculous.
