…was apparently Mohammed Atta’s father.

The ‘Dancing Israeli’ moniker came from an altogether different source, the father of 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta. In a USA Today article from a few weeks after the attacks, quoting Muslim officials from around the world who were alleging that Israel was behind the plot, Atta’s grieving father said that there was insufficient attention being paid to the fact that ”The FBI seized a number of Jews while they were dancing in celebration over the incidents.”

The "Dancing Israelis" came about when a bunch of Israeli working for a company called Urban Movers, which was based on East 19th St in Weehawken , along the Hudson River on a warren of warehouses When word of the attack came in they moved to a better vantage point along Palisades ave on a 200 ft hill Their animated actions attracted attention and a local resident noticed and took down license of their van They were stopped several hours later in East Rutherford. The FBI subjected them to rigorous interrogation. They were held for 10 weeks before being released and deported

Various conspiracy theories have been advanced to explain their presence - most likely were stringers, reporting to Mossad anything of interest Israeli traveling overseas are often given brieings to report anuthing they find of interest
