These would be the voter ID laws that have only bedn in place a couple of years & that Rees-Mogg admitted were a failed attempt at Gerrymandering? Those voter ID Laws?

I didn’t have Isabel Oakshott emigrating to a Muslim country on my bingo card

She says the “pernicious tax on private schools” made her look elsewhere for the best places to educate her children.
Dubai? The Dubai in the UAE? With all those Muslims?

Pathetic.

Right wing talking heads all saying Trump has already rejected Mandelson as Ambassador in another humiliation for Starmer.

Was this a dream you had?

No, just a simple statement of fact. The reactions to this fact on this thread prove what a cynical, fact-free sewer of an echo chamber this thread is.
Why can't we just get rid of the monarchy and save another couple of hundred million a year?
Unlike most contributors to this thread, I believe in democracy. I say we go with what the majority of the people in Britain want, which is to keep the monarchy.
Now let the elitist Islington intelligentsia appear, to sneer about how stupid everyone else is, to get this thread back down to its usual level.

Two polls in 2024, by YouGov & Savanta showed less than 50% support for the Monarch being Head of State (although both had high, >20%, levels of 'Don't Knows'), they've rallied since with the cancer announcements etc, but the trend has been downward for decades.

There's still a vast difference between keeping the monarchy, as head of state and with ceremonial functions, and keeping the monarchy as it is, with the vast accumulation of private wealth and income that should belong to the state.

A distinction which the British public is not making, at least not in the polls I've read. No doubt you will now inform me why the British people are wrong and stupid to believe what they believe, in a totally non-elitist way.
And again, the bulk of that vast wealth does already belong to the state, as does the income derived from it.

Before we end the haggis debate: good news for US gourmands, famed haggis maker Macsween are developing a haggis for the US market replacing sheep's lung (banned by US regs) with sheep's heart. Trials of the recipe are ongoing.
I'm having haggis tomorrow and have some gram flour in so may use the leftovers to make haggis pakoras.

i remember a news article about an American 'Scottish Society' having a big Burns Night bash where they all dressed up in kilts of the tartan they imagined their ancestors wore, paraded around a huge not-quite-a-haggis, made with minced beef iirc for the reason you give, on a huge platter and then for the actual meal they were serving steak. But according to their president "some of the braver members might even taste a little of the haggis"....

I love the things myself, but they're definitely better caught wild, raising haggis in captivity is just cruel imho.

It's amazing how many of the biggest supporters of Brexit seem more interested in Brexiting themselves. Now Farraj is splitting his time between somewhere-in-Britain-much-nicer-than-Clacton and Trump's lower colon, how many of the "Big Beasts of Brexit" are left?

Tice says it's Labour's fault that Santander, the Spanish bank are thinking of leaving the UK because of the red tape caused by Brexit.

All of the problems of Brexit are the fault of the Remainers who failed to persuade the EU into accepting all of the Brexiteers wish list items (even when they were contradictory).

Today's gammon outrage.

Everyone has to boycott Trip Advisor.
London has been voted world’s top destination for 2025
It took the title for its culinary scene, arts and heritage, said Tripadvisor.

This is obviously something cooked up by Sadiq as we all know London is a Muslim cesspit of crime and violence.

So, everyone has to boycott Trip Advisor until they publish the real results.

Apparently Starmer is still so afraid of Corbyn’s popularity he now resorts to fraudulently using the Met against him!

It's not London after all. It's Clacton.

Well, the one of the good points of Clacton is that you are very unlikely to bump into Farage there.
FTFY.

I've only been once - about 10 years ago, thankfully I wasn't staying just passing through. I can understand why Farage really doesn't want to spend time there!
