General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Blah blah one bad apple blah blah he wasn't vetted. Reform should take all their candidates to the vet quick sharp.
Didn't Reform UK Plc previously claim that their candidates were thoroughly vetted but it turned out that they had merely subscribed to a vetting service but not actually availed themselves of its services ?

I think it's a case of the woke crowd being unnecessarily picky when it comes to Reform UK Plc candidates. Surely a few illegal pictures of children and a fraud conviction demonstrate the kind of real world experience which is desirable in a candidate.

And to be fair he's packed a lot into his 26 years.

Even more impressive, as he was convicted when he was 21, if my maths is correct, by which time he'd been a prison officer and a police special sergeant. I'm assuming those came before he was convicted, anyway.

They paid for a service that offered vetting tools but they seemed to think the company licensing them was going to do the work.

I'm surprised that there isn't more chatter about Tulip Siddiq given the circumstances of her resignation and the severe lack of judgement, both on her part and by the party in sticking with the situation for so long and allowing her to have such a prominent place within the party.

The fact that she was a close relative of foreign head of government, especially one that had become increasingly authoritarian and oppressive over the years (until being overthrown last year) should have being enough to keep Ms Siddiq from being pushed forward any way near as much as she was.

‘We’re in there, we’re a disruptor.’

Rupert Lowe says Reform UK will win the next election, the polls putting them equal with Labour and the Tories are understating their position.

He says looking at parliament as a company it is ‘dysfunctional’ and in need of ‘radical change’.

Reform will completely and radically restructure Parliament and the country when they win the next election.

I'm old enough to remember when politicians garnered media coverage because they were politically significant, rather than being politically significant because they're constantly covered by the media.

A lot of people seem to be repeating that Churchill attended the inauguration of FDR in 41 and Cameron attended Obama's in 2013.
Both are wrong but Grok says it's true and those repeating it point at Grok to support their claim

Who is Grok?

And why would Churchill have been at the White House in 1941 when he had slightly more pressing issues to attend to?

He did visit the USA in December 1942 just after the Pearl Harbor attack.

Churchill and Roosevelt spent Christmas together at the White House.
They held the first major wartime conference, code-named ARCADIA, they discussed strategy and made agreements on armaments production and command structure.

On the day of the inauguration he was speaking in the Commons.

Grok is apparently yet another AI chatbot. It confounds me that people continue to use these jumped-up predictive text machines for fact checking when they are known to hallucinate.

It's also claiming (and being uncritically repeated by those having a go at Starmer) that Churchill attended inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953, Thatcher attended Reagan's second inauguration in 1985. and Blair attended George W. Bush's inauguration in 2001.

Mike Graham was even claiming it on his dire Talk TV show, that's where a lot of people are getting the claim from and repeat it.

Looks like the economy isn't crashing after all.
In the last 24 hours we've seen growth, drop in inflation and core inflation dropping to it's lowest level since the start of 2021.
Also FTSE yesterday up by 1.2%.

That's exactly what they want you to believe, you have to do your own research. A guy that used to be a plumber said on facebook that it's all fake news and reminded me that they all laughed at David Icke 10 years ago...

Ah but remember its 'inflation has fallen' under the Tories but under Labour it is 'prices have risen'. I can't remember which one but a Youtube channel was comparing the headline ticker from yesterday two ones from a couple of years ago.

Funny how this wasn't something she noticed at the time, in the same way she didn't notice any issue with the Jay Inquiry when she was Children's minister.

Reform say Labour are crashing the economy whilst showing a GBNews clip which contradicts this and spelling growth, 'gowth.'

And I suspect I know which bit their target audience will remember. Far too many voters have decided that reality is just too dull and complicated, better to listen to a fantasy that fits their prejudices.

They're taking their cue from most of the media that has done this since the late seventies.

So, Farridge thinks it is OK to harass folk in their place of work?

All down to the HoC to shout abuse at him, eh?

Oh, sorry, I forgot...He doesn't like it when someone harasses him with some milk shake.

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ snow flake.

I was asked in the pub if all the Ukrainian refugees will be sent home next week when Trump stops the war?

Also, people not happy that Starmer has signed a deal giving Ukraine £3billion a year for the next hundred years when the war is over next week obviously some kind of scam.

Is there another Reform MP on the way?

Mike Amesbury recall petition imminent, by-election to follow and Reform were second in Runcorn at the election.

Not impossible but iooks like they need to jump a few more hurdles before that becomes a possibility.

I see Amesbury pleaded guilty to assault yesterday (after punching that bloke last year) and they would need him to get a custodial sentence (or at least suspended) before the Speaker would trigger a recall petition, then they need 10% of the registered voters to approve. Reform got 18.1% of the vote (10.6% of eligible voters) at the last election.

Suella says of the planned new Chinese Embassy building in London

The Chinese Communist Party is the one of the biggest threats to our national and economic security. Now the Government supports building a mega Chinese spy base in the heart of London. Why are the concerns of the security services being ignored? What are the government hiding? As Home Secretary I saw how China uses its power to coerce and intimidate. Beijing has found a bunch of useful idiots in the Labour Party willing to kowtow and undermine British interests.

A lot of gammons supporting her.

Starmer is a traitor and selling the Country out to China etc.

Still a lot of people insisting that Churchill, Thatcher, Blair and Cameron attended presidential inaugurations and Grok is right and it's all the other 'legacy' media that is lying about it to protect Starmer.

Even Mike Graham is trying to stick with it. Are his production team really unaware that no British PM has ever yet attended a presidential inauguration?

I see the UK Conservatives are attempting to ban marriage between first cousins.
