Last night at the Conservative Democratic Organisation gala dinner, Priti Patel got huge applause when she said that GBNews are
"The most successful, most dynamic, no nonsense news station, and the defenders of free speech"
And also referred to “the Tory-hating, Brexit-bashing, free speech deniers at the BBC”
Mark Harper transport secretary has just said Tories will stop the “"misuse of 15 minute cities"
“what is sinister is the idea of local councils deciding how often you can go to the shops“

Is he trying to suggest that we're being told to go shopping every 15 minutes?

Have I missed something? Where are they getting idea that making things available in a 15 minute radius precludes leaving the area?

"I want cheaper food. I want hormone injected beef from Australia. I've eaten beef in Australia, it's delicious. There's nothing wrong with it."
Let them eat beef
Jeremy Hunt says he wants those who feel unable to work because of physical or mental health conditions to receive medical and therapeutic help as a condition of receiving their out-of-work benefits uplift.
So under the Tories the best way to be able to a doctor is to resign from work and claim job seekers allowance
It wouldn't shock me to find out that benefits would be removed pending receipt of physical and/or mental help from doctors - but that therapy would never come.

You couldn't make it up:
"Rishi Sunak’s Commons majority in peril as 60 Tories join Liz Truss group
Growth Group now same size as government’s majority, as it urges PM to cut taxes and resume fracking"
Guardian
Liz Truss has formed a splinter group? Liz Truss ???????

There was one of Harper's understrappers on PM being "interviewed" by Evan Davies (the quotation marks refer to the robotic responses of the understrapper), who just kept repeating that sodding nonsense, despite repeated attempts by Davies to seek clarification of these claims.
Carrot Flower Queen likened the understrapper to one of those old talking Action Man toys, which only had a couple of stock phrases...
It seems to be part of the pattern of announcing initiatives to deal with non-existent issues.Rishi says that apparently, one of the biggest issues children and teachers grapple every day with is the impact of smartphones in schools.
He's changing the guidance to schools to ban all use of mobile phones in schools even at breaks and lunchtimes.
Here's me thinking that collapsing buildings, staffing and funding cuts were the big issues.

Yes, I heard that in the car; the cause of much swearing at the radio.
To echo what the others have said, it's also impractical for many families.Rishi says that apparently, one of the biggest issues children and teachers grapple every day with is the impact of smartphones in schools.

Going to Manchester, telling telling themthey can't have a modern railway connection, then flying back home to London.
Standing in a former railway station that ran some of the fastest scheduled express services from Manchester to London over 140 years ago and saying, with a straight face, We can't do that.
Levelling up didn't really exist did it?
