General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

Do you happen to recall why those dastardly Israelis decided to target the innocent Houthis in the first place?
It is abundantly clear that Israel needs no real justification for anything it does. Dastardly, indeed.

Have you denounced the West Bank settlements and the ongoing occupation since 1967 that is characterized by near-daily infringements of the laws restricting what an occupying power can do? Or is that just a peccadillo, good ole boys on a joy ride ("That n-word we ran over had it coming, anyway!")

Meanwhile, in NYC, (Columbia U.) leftist agitators are being arrested.

Pro-Hamas thugs are no longer welcome in our great nation.
— US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Well said.

Israel was attacked by Jordan (with an Egyptian general) in 1967 and lost this territory. Israel didn't just take this territory. If you start a war, you don't get to complain when you lose.

Hercules56, I hope you realize that report is based on "one unnamed Egyptian official" ---
The Americans are working toward a deal that secures the release of all 59 hostages in one batch, and the disarmament of HAMAS is not being demanded by the US as a prerequisite, but rather, the anonymous Egyptian source cited the Gaza terror group’s stated willingness to release all hostages simultaneously and potential flexibility on post-ceasefire arrangements involving weapons.

This whole routine of 'negotiating' with HAMAS is going nowhere.
Hamas's current demands include a plan that would see the release of all hostages in exchange for thousands of Palestinian security prisoners, a full Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, a permanent end to hostilities, the lifting of the blockade, the start of reconstruction efforts, and the retention of its armed capabilities.
In other words, letting HAMAS continue exactly as they were prior to 10-7-23.

By the way, most Israelis want to re-occupy Gaza.

If true, Then most Israelis are Fascists.

Oh, how short peoples' memories are.

Israelis lived in Gaza and their presence was a boon to the Gazans.
Farms, factories, agricultural improvements, trade agreements (AGREXCO and PALTRADE), employment for hundreds of thousands who worked daily in Israel -- and in Erez Industrial Zone, set up by Israel specifically to provide Gazans with ways to earn a fair living with Israeli customers who came to that business park for a variety of services and goods.
An Airport and beautiful new air terminal. With several (loaned) loaned aircraft from the King of Jordan to create Palestine Airways.
Clinics, fresh-food markets, postal services, sanitation, water de-salinization, electric power provision (from IEC), and raw materials for construction of housing and roads.

All gone, thanks to HAMAS.
(also the Palestinians lost a flourishing Casino Resort in Jericho, incapacitated by IDF when terrorists turned it into a base of operations during a previous round of open hostilities -- 2000/Second Intifada)

What is taking place in Gaza right now is a total reset.
More Reserves are being mobilized as I type this.

The Financial Times can go pound sand.
That goes double for others who aren't on-board with the goal of removing HAMAS.

Trump sidelining Israel with direct talks with Hamas, Houthis and the Saudis:
Release of US national IDF fighter; ceasefire between US and Houthis when it comes to US naval ships: no mention of not shooting missiles at Israel.
Saudis get their US defense commitment and nuclear tech without having to normalize relations with Israel.

Netanjahu has proven himself incapable of negotiating in good faith, so he is being ignored.

And, of course, Qatar gifts Trump a luxury 747 - Israel just costs money and headaches.

Hopefully Israel is learning their lesson, that there is nothing to gain from rejecting peace.

Trump is not 'sidelining' the State of Israel.
He represents the United States of America, and his decisions are based on that.

The release of only Edan Alexander is going to piss-off a lot of Israelis.

What does Qatar providing a jet aircraft have to do with the price of tea in China?

The Prime Minister of Israel is not being ignored/sidelined and in fact, "HAMAS is continuing to negotiate under fire, as IDF preparations are underway to intensify military operations.” -- Prime Minister’s Office statement.

As for the Saudis, I'm not too concerned about their 'recognition' or 'normalization', and I don't care a whit about their backing of a US-led initiative that would include an immediate end to the war, the return of all hostages in one phase, and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. (In exchange, Hamas would disarm, a local government would be established to govern Gaza, and extensive reconstruction work would begin).

Ahhhhhh, there's the rub. HAMAS won't disarm.
HAMAS is still building tunnels, so of course they want more materials to do so. (under the rubric of 'reconstruction')

IDF is now solidly entrenched in Gaza and refortifying and razing entire zones, so the chances of their leaving Gaza is minimal at this juncture.
The entire concept of "creating a system to ensure the regular entry of large quantities of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip" was tried already, and the result was a fiasco for everyone. (See: Floating Pier constructed TWICE by the US Navy, along with air-drops that landed Skittles into the Mediterranean).

Trump is about to learn a valuable lesson.
He is not in charge of the fate of Israel. Even if he thinks he is.

Trump sidelining Israel with direct talks with Hamas, Houthis and the Saudis:
I see nothing but good by conducting direct talks with Hamas, Houtis, and the Saudis.
Release of US national IDF fighter;

Unless the US has changed its policies, American citizens were not allowed to work for "foreign" govenments or serve in "foreign" military without expecting fines, imprisonment, and even loss of American citizenship. So those Americans don't belong there in the first place.

I have no knowledge or insight to that matter so I'll keep my mouth shut.

A wise decision to be sure.

Again, no comment for lack of knowlege.

I am so grateful that the last American has been released from Gaza.

Too bad the Israelis don't have leadership that actually care about them. Bibi and his co-Fascists care more about never-ending war then human life.

Oh well. They should clearly talk to their leadership.

Trump got a hostage released through a weekend of negotiation, Israel hasn't managed to negotiate the release of a single one in 15 months - both previous deals were done by the US pressuring Israel.
Incontestable proof that Israel would prefer all hostages to die.

WHO 12 May 2025 People in Gaza starving, sick and dying as aid blockade continues
People in Gaza are trapped in a dangerous cycle where malnutrition and disease fuel each other, turning everyday illness into a potential death sentence, particularly for children. Malnutrition weakens the bodies, making it harder to heal from injuries and fight off common communicable diseases like diarrhoea, pneumonia, and measles. In turn, these infections increase the body’s requirement for nutrition, while reducing nutrient intake and absorption, resulting in worsening malnutrition. With health care out of reach, vaccine coverage plummeting, access to clean water and sanitation severely limited, and increased child protection concerns, the risk of severe illness and death grows, especially for children suffering from severe acute malnutrition, who urgently need treatment to survive.

Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are also at high risk of malnutrition, with nearly 17 000 expected to require treatment for acute malnutrition over the next eleven months, if the dire situation does not change. Malnourished mothers struggle to produce enough nutritious milk, putting their babies at risk, while the delivery of counselling services for mothers is heavily compromised. For infants under six months, breastmilk is their best protection against hunger and disease – especially where clean water is scarce, as it is in Gaza.

The long-term impact and damage from malnutrition can last a lifetime in the form of stunted growth, impaired cognitive development, and poor health. Without enough nutritious food, clean water, and access to health care, an entire generation will be permanently affected.

The genocide continues apace. In particular, the extermination of the next generation is the clear plan, as women's health care, pregnancies, and children have all been intentionally targeted.

Meanwhile, the Muslim world dances around showering gifts on one of the men directly responsible. What a profoundly disgusting, sold-out, noodle spine world. One thing is clear: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism are worthless trash. Gods and a knife in the back ever go together.

I say they dismantle the Holocaust Museum as a sick joke, a monument to ethnocentric supremacy in light of Israel's turn to mass slaughter, a fake statement absent any genuine call to conscience whatsoever; a mockery.

Not that I approve of the genocide, but Gaza would be a MUCH nicer place if they didn't launch the very stupid Oct 7 attacks.

Just sayin.

Hercules56, why 'very stupid' ? From what I'm seeing, the results were spectacular and precisely what Iran wanted.
International vilification & demonization of Israel.
ICC warrants for Israel's Prime Minister.
Devil's horns on a Jew (a common antisemitic trope against Jews) posted in International Discussion Forums.
Demonstrations galore demanding the end of Israel in streets of major cities. ("Free Palestine")
Airlines still hesitant of serving Tel Aviv's airport.
Iran's proxy in Yemen continuing to fire weapons at the State of Israel.
Gaza factions continuing to launch rockets.

As for Gaza being a 'nicer place' -- don't worry at all about that. Jews will step in to make it happen.

Maybe HAMAS will release all the hostages, in exchange for Gazans returning to their old 'much nicer' lives?
How about that idea?
Four other Americans' bodies are still held in Gaza. Why weren't their remains released as well?

Trump refusing to visit Israel is not just a snub, it's a huge problem, as Trump will always side with the last person he talked to.
Which might be the Qatari.

Reportedly, 82% of Hamas leadership has been eliminated by the IDF.

This generation, which is why the IDF is hard at work targeting health care for women, pregnant mothers, child births and children, pulling a modern-day version of the Amalekite extinction event.

Trump's gaudy display in ME capitals must also be setting the next, and much more furious, al-Qaeda in motion. If their governments' actions are already abhorrently callous as neighboring powers ignoring the laws against genocide, the passivity of their leaders before the mass slaughter of fellow Muslims must be radicalizing millions against Israel and its main ally, the USA.

Prior to the ongoing ethnic cleansing and starvation on a mass scale in Gaza, we (certainly I) may have entertained the wildly doctored Israeli narrative of regional events since the 1930s as "history", but fewer and fewer now do, Israelis having lost the mantle/disguise as "hapless, innocent victims" entirely.

At the very least, expect regime change in the region, if not another 9/11. This is if the Israeli "tail" does not wag the US "dog" into yet another spend of blood and treasure on an attack on Iran, one which has the potential to tip the world into a hot WWIII.

No question whatsoever: Israel and its Zionist government are the greatest threat to democracy, fair governance, and world peace this century, and much of the last. No one, no one, is now unaware of the extent of the damage done by AIPAC and Israel, the West's sociopolitical enemy within, now in stark relief.

Speaking of eliminations, this article provides a photo montage of WANTED men that are being sought in Gaza.
The story also provides evidence of HAMAS cynical use of civilian infrastucture for 'cover' of terrorists.
Naftali Bennett clearly understands the situation.
"HAMAS TURNED GAZA INTO ONE HUGE TERROR MACHINE." --

The IDF is throwing a monkey wrench into their cogs.

I don't know why Hamas bothers with human shields.

By now we all know that the IDF will just bomb the human shields along with the targets, assuming there are even any targets there anyway.

Remember what happened with the ambulances? They were killed and their bodies buried. The IDF made up a story which was shown to be lies and then came up with another story which was shown to be lies.

I expect that full-scale slaughter and ethnic cleansing without any excuses will not keep Naftali Bennett up at night nor the rest of the IDF's supporters who will probably shrug and say the magic words, "It's all Hamas's fault anyway".

It's all HAMAS' fault anyway.

The IDF is hitting designated targets, by the way.
HAMAS just isn't allowing that information to be released.

It's all HAMAS' fault anyway.

The IDF is hitting designated targets, by the way....
Oh we are fully aware.

All of the Palestinian civilian infrastructure and housing and hospitals and schools and aid centers that have been destroyed by the IDF is very much on purpose.

Shouldn't that be updated to read 86-47 ?

Starving? So? The HAMAS can alleviate the suffering to the Gazans, quite simply. However, they're OK with things the way the are. Looks are everything. The more starving, the more propaganda value. It's a win for HAMAS to have dying kids. It's a feature, not a bug.

IDF is unlikely to approve a resumption of distribution willy-nilly.
The aid will be provided by US sub-contracting firms, after retina scanning the recipients.

Northern Gaza is being fully cleaned-out. All gone, as you described accurately -- UNRWA schools with tunnels underneath, small fabrication workshops making rockets, amid hundreds of other HAMAS 'clandestine' operations and operatives.

IAF pilots are wreaking havoc in both Gaza and Yemen.
They're literally just making the ground open up and swallow entire areas into the abyss of bomb craters.
