Tony DiMare’s family owns 4,000 acres of tomato farms across Florida and California. Sadly, his Florida crops are not looking good — mowed over and left to rot, like tomato vines across the state.

But it’s not growing conditions that are the problem. It’s economic ones.

DiMare told WSVN 7 Miami that President Donald Trump’s tariff and immigration policies are driving farmers to abandon their crops.

In January, he warned that Trump’s crackdown on migrants would squeeze farmers, who rely on migrants to pick produce.

“We have to secure our borders south and north, but you have to have a workforce in this country,” he told the Financial Post.

Garcia is obviously wrong. It actually is what they voted for. It just isn't what they thought they voted for.

However, I would take that video with a grain of salt. In particular, the (repeated) claim that Kasper Eriksen was not only a Trump supporter but also that he voted for Trump.
The story is pretty old news: Green Card Holder Detained by ICE at Immigration Appointment, Wife Says (Newsweek, May 21, 2025)
The first stories didn't say anything about that.

How could he vote for Trump (or anybody else) if he never got citizenship? Wouldn't it be a felony?

It's not that I don't think a Danish ex-pat could become a Trump supporter and vote for Trump - even though Danish Trump supporters are few and far between and were so even before Trump sent his son and veep to Greenland. I just don't see how Kasper Eriksen would be able to vote at all. The article mentioned and shown in the video doesn't say so.

With this in mind, please rewatch the video and tell me if there is something I have missed.

It was the claim that he had voted for Trump that I was interested in.
It is made repeatedly in the video in post 854, and it's all over the internet.
That was the claim that struck me as absurd, but it doesn't seem to have made people disbelieve it.
I have seen (copies of) pro-Trump reposts made by both Kasper Eriksen and his wife.

Trump supporters have a well established habit of latching onto errors in criticisms of their Emperor and using them as justification for dismissing the entire criticism, so it's important to be as factual in details as possible.

"Trump called the military losers."
"No he didn't. Stop lying."
Reality: He called military personnel who died in combat losers.

"Trump said people should drink bleach."
"LOL. You liberals need to stop making things up."
Reality: He suggested injecting unspecified disinfectant.

Trump voter admits he has 'a little buyer's remorse' after losing a third of his workforce

A roofing company owner in Florida Keys who voted for President Donald Trump is now facing "a little buyer's remorse" after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained one-third of his workforce.

Vincent Cardina, whose team included six Nicaraguan workers, said he never expected his employees — whom he considered friends — to be targeted, as he believed the Trump administration’s immigration policies would focus on deporting criminals.

"It takes a toll. You get to know these guys. You become their friends. Not just an employer but a friend. And you see what happens to the family," he toldNBC 6 South Florida in an interview.

“The situation is blatantly not at all what they said it was,” Cardina admitted to NBC. His business, which has already been affected, joins others in the area that have seen similar fallout.

One landscaper he knows has even gone out of business after losing his entire crew. "It's quite a shock," Cardina added, reflecting on how the detentions are impacting both his business and his workers’ families.
