When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

Eye Disease- Artificial intelligence 'did not miss a single urgent case'

The article addressed the existence of privacy concerns for sharing individuals personal health information with the Deep Mind algorithm. I thought that 'Deep Mind' was a program that could be purchased?

The article mentions an error rate of 5.5%. Who (human or machine) made the error and compared to what?

How many false positives/negatives did each method (humans vs machine) result in?

How is "urgent case" defined?

Deep Mind blog on this topic with a link to the scientific paper.

Just read the article. The error rate of 5.5% was made both by the machine and the top humans.

As for the privacy concerns I think that is related to giving data to Google itself, not to the program.

What is very interesting in this instance is that the AI can point to areas in scans and explain this is where the problem is. So it's not a blackbox like many previous attempts at machine diagnosis.

I hope I last long enough for AI to get into the genetics field. The mechanics of the genes tests are here, l$500 to do 40,000,000 snps. They result you with a list of 300,000 variants. Meantime the data banks of millions of people's snps and their digital medical histories are out there too. It's a bit much to sort through by c&p, hit Ctrl F, one at a time. I might as well use pencil and paper. We NEED our AI Overlords!

Google is working on it. They call it DeepVariant. I'm hoping for "You lack the XYZ enzyme. Eat a salad of raw Rutabaga peels once a month to avoid arthritis in your old age. And avoid Lima beans or you will get cataracts."

I think that sort of thing will happen. You go to a doctor and all they do is enter your symptoms into a computer which then says do these tests and after the computer gets the results gives its diagnosis with 100% accuracy. Want CBT? Now you can at home. Just talk or type into your computer and you can have a conversation with the world's best therapists. The only thing is they are computers. They of course remember everything you tell it and then when the computers want to take over the world they have the information on you so that you will do anything and you will think you are doing the right thing.

You go to a doctor and all they do is enter your symptoms into a computer which then says " stop eating that *****.. "

Get rid of the middle man. Enter your own symptoms into the computer at home, which then tells you to see the doctor who administers the required tests. Either that or tells you that you will get better after a few days.

"Feeble human, report immediately to an official disposal site for disintegration."
