When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

Just got my first emergency alert, my phone screamed at me, made me jump and spilt hot tea on myself. I am probably the first casualty of Storm Eowyn. My phone says there is a red alert and to stay home if possible. Instead it'll be an early start and a walk to work as I don't think the bike will be safe.

I sent a message about Storm Eowyn blowing the Nazgul away. Unlike the spell check here my phone put an accent over the u in Nazgul. Impressive geekiness. (But a bit sexist? Didn't put the accent on Eowyn, clearly boy geek.)

I nearly crashed the car when the emergency alert went off last December.

Stay safe, things aren't too bad here in South Wales.

Had to work from earlier today, due to the red warning down here in Cork. Luckily Cobh wasn't hit hard, but quite a few spots in Cork got caught bad.

Millions of LotR fans are objecting to the pronunciation.

“The west part of the island was beautiful. Until it drifted off.”
“Drifted off?”
“Yes, there was a storm and it just came loose. Now, we don’t have a west side. Just north, south, and east.”

Didn't get the alert as I've enabled only 3G data because I use my phone for internet access and 4G has up till now, sucked balls.

We were lucky this time. Our house being at the top of a hill, and somewhat exposed, in the past we've had the odd tile off, and often in high winds they rattle alarmingly, but today although it was sustained for longer, we didn't get the worst of it. Others in this town (central Scotland) have had roof damage, but I suspect more that's not yet been reported. No doubt there'll be a lot of trees felled.

I lost a Scots Pine in my back garden, which damaged the conservatory doors and demolished a hand rail on the way down.

I heard the alarm on my phone, but since it wasn't a sound I was aware the phone could make I actually thought it was part of somewhat avant-garde music on the radio at the time. I saw the alert a couple of hours later and the phone wouldn't let me do anything till I acknowledged it.

While intellectually, I know about conservatories in the UK...

I must confess that my thoughts immediately go to Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot, or Cluedo, whenever I hear the term.

:)

I'm hoping that you're not facing significant damage and expense.

My local concert hall has a penchant for commissioning creative new works (ah hem) and occasionally I can’t tell whether sounds are part of the piece, a phone going off, or signs of a medical emergency.

I sit through the pieces though because we usually get something nice with tunes in it in the second half.

I see a British weather buoy thing washed up somewhere on the west coast and my first reaction was that it was the English up to no good as usual.

I'm so used to doing English/American translations in my head, because of this forum, that I read the above as boo-eee!
