Dreadful days are coming

This could have significant impacts in late March or May.

Ask whoever claimed it would.

Ok.

Emre_1974tr, why didn't **** happen on Tuesday?

ETA: I can't ask the person that made the specific March 22nd claim, because you never told us who that was. You just said this:
There were those who gave the dates of March 22 and May 24. Let's see, we'll see.

I suggest we stop feeding this troll. There is no fun at all in him.

Too right.
What do I win? I reckon I should win Emre's house. You guys can fight over his car- I don't drive.

I doubt he'd have a car worth shipping to the States.

By the way, in the wee hours of the morning, here on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, there were brief, blinding flashes of blue-white light followed by tremendous, booming sounds. Maybe that was Nibiru asking to borrow a cup of sugar.

Endorsed.

Just because someone comes on here saying stupid things means we must keep responding. Especially when they just lean on the mic key and won’t respond.

So, why didn't **** happen on Tuesday?

I'd love an explanation for this. I mean, a whole solar system and planets and comets'n'that has just vanished, like it was never there at all! How's that happen?

That's some pretty freaky ****, right there!

Aaaah well, at least my corncrake hunt in the Outer Hebrides can still go ahead in early May.

Aaah corncrakes, heard a few in my time, never managed to eyeball one. Good luck!

Obviously it missed. It’s gotta turn around to make another pass, and that takes time. I mean, you don’t have room to do a three-point turn with a solar system just anywhere on your orbital, you know.

Sent from my volcanic island lair using carrier pigeon.

Needs rear wheel drive for the tighter turning circle...

I understand now. It's a reverse disaster.
When in 2 months time nothing will happen (again), Emre_1974tr will predict it will happen in 2 years time, and when that goes past it will be 2 decades. Should he (and this forum) survive long enough it will be 2 centuries.

Maybe this is what all the fuss was about...

New discovery on the sun has captured scientists' attention
Brian Lada (2022-03-24)

Astronomers have been busy in recent weeks watching activity unfold on the surface of the sun, and a new object has gained their attention.

A sunspot has emerged in recent days that is at least twice as big as the Earth, according to SpaceWeather.com. This region was named AR2975 after appearing on Wednesday.

Sunspots are areas on the sun where there is a concentration of magnetic activity, according to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). These areas can appear dark because they are cooler than other areas of the sun's surface.

Actually, Emre has the perpetual act down pat. Eventually we will have another Carrington Event and the odds are that Emre will be at or near a countdown day and declare the win.

Well, even then, to declare a win he'd have to go beyond this stuff;

"It seems"
"it seems"
"It is claimed"
"It is thought"
"It is also said"
"And again, it seems like"
"It is claimed"
"It is also thought/alleged"

All of that crap is from just his first post but alas he remains coy about whose messenger boy he is. He doesn't get to say "I told you so" when he's so careful to point out that he is not telling us so.

Good analysis

Yes, there's not exactly a lot of courage or conviction in the presented claims. But he will certainly get to say "I told you so" when we are huddled around a fire trying to maintain a skeptical discussion and the roving bands of feral mutants attack. I mean what are we going to do, pop open the laptop and quote him, while being ritually disemboweled?

Those damn feral mutants!

They ruin everything... Wait! There's someone at the door. I'll be right back...

With the level of pedantry and alround smartarsery usually displayed by all members in good (and not so good) standing here, I'd say that was a big "Yes!"

A form of the 'Tomorrow' claim, you just claim 'something' will happen tomorrow and guess what someday 'something' will happen tomorrow - someday.

I predict 'x' important person will die (165,000 people die each day - 60 million a years) so sooner or later it will happen.

Same for earthquakes, asteroid strikes, diseases, wars, etc.

Or, how about this?

Waves from the sun are moving at speeds that 'defy explanation'
Ryan Morrison For Dailymail.Com (2022-03-24)

High-frequency waves swirling on the sun have left scientists confused, as the unexpected bursts of energy are moving at speeds that defy explanation.

A team from New York University's Abu Dhabi Center for Space Science analyzed 25 years of space and ground-based observations of energy waves from our host star.

They discovered a new set of waves moving in the opposite direction of the sun's rotation, inexplicably travelling faster than was theoretically possible...

“Never mind, lads, same time tomorrow. We must get a winner one day.”

He's busy applying his Apocalypse prediction method to personal wealth building, and is going to get rich playing the lottery every day till he hits.

Interesting Ian thought you could actually do that, if only you could live long enough.

I think I figured it out. Based on another thread in a different section of the board, Emre had a flight book on American Airlines.

I, too, find it interesting how often immortality is an overlooked practical solution.

I was recently rewatching the episode of Futurama in which Fry discovers that he's a billionaire and realized that the math works. A starting balance of 93 cents and 2.25% interest compounded annually over 1000 years really does result in 4.3 billion dollars.

Producer David X. Cohen has a bachelor's degree in physics and a masters in computer science. He's put quite a few math jokes in the show over the years.

... overdue?

You must be related to Mike Pillow - he keeps telling us the election will be overturned on a particular date... then he pushes back to another date ...and another ...and another ...and another ...and another ...and another!

You're doing the same thing here with your bat-crap crazy end of the world predictions. FFS, make a bloody prediction and then stick with it --- then admit you were wrong when it doesn't pan out!

Emre,

I agree with you that it's a great record, but if you still haven't got your copy by now, then you need to open a paypal dispute (or get your credit card company to reverse the transaction, depending on how you paid). If you still haven't got it, and they're now telling you it's going to be another month, then it's a scam - they're never going to send it. Hell, they probably never had it themselves.

PS: I dj'd a wedding reception a couple of weeks back, and played this early on (pre-first dance, while people were still demolishing the desserts and magnificent cheese selection). The bride then requested* it be played again, as things were winding down (around 2am), so it's not just us who like it!

*obviously the bride's requests are always played, but in this case the bride had damn good taste.

ETA: Re-linking the track, as it may have been accidentally swept up in a previous AAH dump:
