Hi All

I spotted this on the Web:

David Thompson, an alleged physical medium, will be in Florida, in November, at the Shrine of the Master, Church of Metaphysical Christianity, 852 South Tuttle Avenue, Sarasota, Florida giving seances advertised as 'materialisation' seances.

They are held in total darkness!

The Newsletter atates:
The "transformation" we spoke about last month continues as we have shared the schedule of materialization séances, workshops and demonstrations with our congregation. The Mental Mediumship workshop with Christine Morgan and the three materialization séances with David Thompson sold out in 18 days. We contacted the David Thompson team in Sydney and asked about putting in another materialization séance. They agree to replace the third deep trance demonstration with a fourth materialization séance. It was sold out in 2 days. Preference has been given to our members and those who attend church services.

The Shrine of the Master will host guests for these events from all over the United States including the cities of New York City, San Francisco, San Diego, Lily Dale, Cassadaga, Florida, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Detroit and Reno. People of different backgrounds will be joining us as we experience one of the rarest forms of physical mediumship in the world.

This guy has a nerve coming in to Randi's state.

I wonder what the IRS has to say about it.

I take it this is one of those seances where they claim the deceased will come back in physical form? I wonder if the old "My deceased loved one is actually a dog" trick will work on them.

Do they offer conjungal seances? And do they charge for this service, and wouldn't that be prostitution?

From what I understand the charges are pretty steep. They claim that the deceased come back in physical form but all seances are in total darkness so how the hell can anyone see what is going on?

Here are a few extracts from a report of a séance in New York (they were sent to me as you have to be a member to access these testimonials:

“David’s gift is that he produces large amounts of ectoplasm while in deep trance. This means discarnate beings can use the ectoplasm to form a voice box and manifest in his presence. The limitations of this are that it can only happen in complete darkness. Ectoplasm to light is like boiling water to snow and if during a séance (DSC) light is bought into the room or even sharp movement that would upset the energy, the ectoplasm shoots into the body like stretched elastic band being released from its tension. The effect of this can be catastrophic for the medium. At best the ectoplasm shooting back into the body could bruise and damage the medium, at worst; it has been known to kill them.”

“The problem with producing phenomena in darkness is it gives the sceptic a reason to accuse the medium of fraud. The reason for the strict protocol is, A to protect the medium from someone bringing in a torch, and B to demonstrate to the sitters that there is no fraud involved.”

“It was completely black. I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t see the person sitting next to me. Chris then informed us that he would turn the music on and asked that we sing along or hum in order to raise the energy in the room.”

“Then an entity claiming to be Louis Armstrong came through, He spoke and he sung What a Wonderful World, then in darkness he played fantastic harmonica.”

Armstrong seems to have mislaid his trumpet!
