Conspiracy Theory? US civil war if Trump loses election but won't relinquish power?

Of course, someone could just ask Trump himself whether he will commit to a peaceful transfer of power should he lose the election. Surely he'll say that it's obvious that he consents to be bound by the Constitution of the United States of America.

Oh, wait...

One item against the idea is that Trump himself is a coward. He would be willing to risk killing off millions of Americans but he would not risk his own life and fortune. He would of course enjoy immediately starting his re-election campaign for 2024.

sure, but he has already drained his campaign funds for lawsuits - lawsuits that will continue after Jan 2021. That is why he is unloading cases on to the DOJ, something he won't be able to do if he loses.
He won't do rallies anymore, because he can't get taxpayers to pay for them.

No, for Trump there is no difference between losing and ruin.

When he isn't president he can charge for the rallies. He may become the best selling touring artist of the post-pandemic era. Ted Nugent will be killing to open up for him.

What most of these people talking about joining militias and coming to DC don't understand is that the police are different here. Where you see them operating freely and "patrolling" around protests are places where open carry is legal and the police tolerate them. The police in DC will shoot them.

If Tons of Fun with his knock of AR-15 kitted out in a cool guy rig tries to have his little armed protest in DC or the DC suburbs, his brains are going to be wall art.

He might not have to step down if COVID has its way...
How would that work? If there is no election in November or Trump loses, he is no longer president in January 2021 under any circumstances. The person next in succession becomes president. This would be one of the Senators as the entire House would have to be appointed by the state governors.

The idea is the Pence would be the one stepping down or refusing to do so.

I still haven't seen any actual quotes from Trump saying he means to hold power by means of physical force.

And you won't. He'll say something like, "Maybe the 2nd Amendment people will have something to say about this." He won't call for violence but he will wonder aloud if someone will rid him of this troublesome priest.

Yes and out there are the American equivalent of Reginald FitzUrse, Hugh de Morville, William de Tracy and Richard le Breton

Four far right wingers Regi, Hugh, Bill and Rich might feel they need to do what he is suggesting.

The main reason he will keep the movement going is so he can find ways to milk the suckers for every cent he can.
And his followers will eat it up.
Ben Franklin said it best: "A Fool and HIs Money Are Soon Parted."

Also Trump has tasted power, and his ego leads him to believe that it's his right to keep it, regardless of what is real. He wants to show everyone how powerful and important he is by making them afraid of what he can do.

It's also about money for sure, but I think power is the real drug.

Lucky for us, he's an idiot incapable of following a plan.

The Founding Fathers never intended the Constitution to be followed if conservatives were unhappy with the results of an election.

Face it - the Constitution has failed Republicans.

I really hope a very small percentage of Republicans agree with this.

They have been yelling about States' rights for decades and the SCOTUS finally came down on the side of States' rights, with the help of three Democrats.

The funny thing is I am usually a proponent of national interests over states' rights, but in this unusual case I'm a nope, as no harm was actually done. Plus the case was just too ******* late as they had many months to complain to the courts about the changes PA made. They only sued cause their boy lost.

Question will come done to how good a military could the Trumpers raise. Not a very good one, IMHO.

Questin is how many of the Trumpers preaching Civil war really mean it, or are just blowhards.
I supsect 95% are just blowhards. The other 5% though can do some real damage though they casnnot win.

The Arizona GOP asked its Twitter followers if they to are willing to die for Trump.

Also, don't forget that he's cowardly through and through. He's all about egging on others, not putting himself at risk. The odds of him trying to remain in the white house are nil.

Mara Lago will be the White House for the president in exile.

Most folks threatening civil war will fold as soon as it's time to do civil war stuff.

Bullets fly in both directions. How loyal are your neighbors to your cause? While you're out overthrowing the government your neighbors will be clearing out your house of valuables and burning it to the ground.Where are you going to get gasoline from if the oil companies side with the opposition? What about ammo? The gun manufacturers might be sympathetic but transportation will be a problem. How will you get more bullets?

I love B-52s and A-10s because they are USAF. If I was on the other side of things I don't think I'd be too thrilled to see them heading in my direction.

The big question none of the lame-oids spouting off about civil war never ask is: what if you lose?

Right now Trump lost the election by a slim margin, but the GOP actually PICKED UP SEATS IN CONGRESS, and still might win in Georgia. The adult thing to do is secure your voting base for 2022 and 2024. Technically the GOP isn't in bad shape, if the party had competent leadership they would be quashing all of the cry-baby nonsense and looking forward with optimism because it won't be long until the Democrats and Biden ignite another hot-button issue which will drive conservatives to the polls like the ACA did.

You can't fix stupid with more stupid.
