When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

Atheist Directions At The JREF

Most of you have probably read DJ's SWIFT post about the JREF becoming an "atheist" organisation, but if not you can find it here.

I have personally never been concerned about this issue. The JREF is clearly not an atheist organisation. However, there is another issue that I have spotted lately that does concern me regarding the direction of the JREF. I've attached a document that I think proves my theory, and I have also e-mailed my findings to JREF president DJ Grothe. His lack of response indicates I may have stumbled upon something that the JREF wanted to keep quiet...

I notice a lot of glasses-wearing too. Does that mean if we don't need vision correction, we're out?

It's stranger than you think...

Interestingly, there are two faces out of the twelve that I don't immediately recognise...

Randi, DJ Grothe, Jeff Wagg

Adam Savage, Phil Plait, PZ Myers,

Michael Blanford (JREF Director of Education), Charles Darwin, Mr Deity/Brian Dalton

Jamy Ian Swiss, Penn Jillette, Uri Geller

Yes, it was Blanchford and Geller I didn't recognise. The former because I've never seen a picture of him before, and the second because it's a terrible photo.

Does this mean the women have to grow beards too? That might be a bit awkward.

Thanks AdMan - I was hoping to see a shot of JC and JR show up. Taken at the Del Mar... er... the Dragon*Con equivalent, whatever it's caller.

I see no reason why the JREF would even need to address a question like this. If the majority of another non-profit's members were Christian (let's say a veteran's benefits lobby group), as long as they're not including messages about Jesus on their publications, nobody would accuse them of being a "Christian Organization'.

Considering how the JREF doesn't really address issues of religion, the entire premise of the question is disingenuous. It's little more than an attempt to marginalize the JREF by associating it with Atheists, which is a very unpopular minority in the USA.

...but what about the beards? ;)
