    When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

Hi, everybody.

My name is Brian Thompson, and I'm the new Field Coordinator for the JREF. From now on, I'll be hanging out on the forum quite a bit, chiming in with my ill-informed opinion on some topics and answering any organization-related questions you might have.

Some of you may already know me from my ridiculous comedy show The Amateur Scientist Podcast, but I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of you in the near future.

As field co-ordinator where do you stand on issues relating to commons and enclosures?
Are you proposing a fallow period or will you be advocating a strict crop rotation system?


Um, unless I've misunderstood your job title, in which case- what is a field co-ordinator?

I'm in charge of leading the JREF's outreach programs to grassroots skeptical groups, and I'm also helping to produce new outreach initiatives.

This position has nothing to do with agriculture, but I will be managing Sally Field's schedule as well.

1. I believe the new site redesign may feature the forum prominently.

2. As far as I know, we haven't.

3. 100%. As long as there's a Randi.org, the forum will exist. And it will be independently moderated.

Oh, and another question I wanted to ask--not sure if you would know, but will the JREF store (that sold DVDs, etc.) be coming back?

All I can say about the site redesign is "soon". But it is actively being worked on. Not vaporware.

Don't know about the store. I'll look into it.
 
Will I finally be recognized officially by the JREF as forum god, and will Skinnematics be endorsed by the JREF as a belief system?

Thanks for the answers to my questions. A few follow up questions

1. Site redesign. I know nothing about that. Can you tell us about this, including timetable. Will it include an upgrade to vBulletin 4?
2. Will the lack of JREF promotion continue? If not what will change? How will it be promoted? You already hinted at one answer with the site redesign.

How many fields does JREF own? What do they produce and is it used internally or sold to packers/distributors? Is it used for the dinners at Tam or are they standard hotel fare? Enquirer minds want to know!!!:)
