When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

3D printing and CAD in grade 2

Innovative Learning @ École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys is powered by the Idea Lab, an organization unique to the Kenora Catholic District School Board. This video features the 3D design and printing program initiated by Megan Baker in the Grade 1/2 classroom. It is the first part in an ongoing series of videos showcasing Idea Lab-powered programs in the board.

Lucky kids, I am extremely impressed how well they were able to utilize the software.

The cost was really in the software, the tablets, and the laptops. The Makersbot is one of the cheapest 3D printers out there, which is great.

I thought this would be more of a grade 7-12 activity, and never thought that kids in 1st -2nd grade could get it. That's kids coming straight out of kindergarten using semi advanced CAD software.

If only all kids had these same resources...

I don't know anything about CAD, but I have absolute confidence in the K-1 kids to perform years ahead of their peers in just about anything you decide to teach them.

The store was out of legos?

Yes!

Legos...the most cool toy of all time!

Yeah for Denmark!

The Lego Group began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen (1891–1958), a carpenter from Billund, Denmark, who began making wooden toys in 1932. In 1934, his company came to be called "Lego", derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means "play well".

Except soon they will be 3D printing their own legos and other toys for the cost of the materials. This is the next big thing when many people will just download pirate copies of most domestic goods to print on their printer at home.

Some will. But like pizza and books, while I can make a perfectly acceptable home version of either, I still pay someone else to do it for me.
