Cheers mate! As you probably know, today is the day of the do-over election for mayor of Istanbul. Keep your fingers crossed. The feeling, and non-AKP polling, seem to show that Ekrem from CHP will win...again. My only fear is that some shenanigans from AKP will let them steal the election. But, everything is being to closely watched to allow that...I hope. Also, it is encouraging that Recep himself has not been campaigning hard in Istanbul. The idea is that it could have actually hurt Binali's Hope's of winning. In fact, Binali's campaign actively discouraged Recep and his people from stumping in Istanbul. So, after all these years, it seems as if Erdogan's grip on power is loosening a bit. Maybe Ekrem and CHP will be in the Presidential palace in a few years. But first, Istanbul.

Hello mate....I am sure you are aware of the election news. I was really surprised that Ankara and especially Istanbul went CHP. It was by a whisker here. And this despite of the usual domination of the media by AK. Anyway, I hope your friends in Ankara are pleased. It's the beginning of better days for all of us here I hope.

Any thing British really. From Palaeolithic right through to modern industrial stuff. I have dug a henge ditch in Wales in 100 degrees of heat in July, test pits on top of a mountain in -10 degrees in the snow, Iron Age burials in what was to become a 'park and ride' car park near Taunton, a 18th century copper works in Swansea etc, etc. Currently my husband (also an archaeologist) and I work for a little family unit based in Glastonbury so we work mainly in the Somerset area. We have a job coming up in the center of Glastonbury soon actually. Its hard work but the best job in the world (I think so anyway, lol)!

This is one of my all time favorites. Very much one of their ambient songs, no percussion or beats. Very Bladerunner/Vangelis sounding. Sort of tragic and at the same time contemplative if you have the patience for this sort of music.
