Continuation Part Seven: Discussion of the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

I read somewhere today there are three (!) investigations. I would tell you more but you are in debt to the thread.
Three! Wow, k any odds on any of them providing a conclusion before he finishes his motivations? Three? Seriously?

Andrea Vogt, as well as the author of the trashy, "Darkness Descending" are producing a documentary on this case, to be aired on BBC Channel 3 next Monday.

Although not addressing the documentary, Mark Olshaker (co-author with John Douglas) wrote this piece three weeks ago, to put some of Andrea's obvious venom and disinformation against Knox into perspective:

Pandering to existing beliefs.
http://mindhuntersinc.com/pandering-to-existing-beliefs/#more-4639

Andrea Vogt is a virtual one woman PR firm for Giuliano Mignini, and there's no lurid tale that goes untouched by her. For instance, how in the world does Vogt know things that are essentially lawyer-client privilege?

Or this....

Read on, and all you Brits enjoy the documentary. It is the case which Mignini brought... Andrea has not changed tune since.

The strangest thing about this upcoming documentary is the channel for which it has been commissioned. BBC Three is, very specifically, the BBC channel that is dedicated to providing "alternative" programming aimed squarely at a younger (16-34) audience. Most of its output is light entertainment and comedy, and where news or current affairs are featured (rarely), they are packaged in a way that's specifically designed to be accessible to (and appeal to) younger demographics.

Therefore it's hard to see how a documentary about Amanda Knox fits into the BBC Three remit. If this were a big-ticket, serious documentary, it would without doubt be carried on BBC One (the flagship channel) or BBC Two (the BBC's second channel, focussing more on factual/arts programming than the all-genres One). Or if it were more of a minority audience programme, but still with a serious bent, it would be on BBC Four, which is the BBC's smaller documentaries-only channel aimed squarely at the intelligentsia. Where it emphatically wouldn't be is BBC Three.

So something's definitely strange about this documentary, in terms of its genesis and the manner in which it was commissioned. I wonder what might have happened............

Telling the court a substance tested positive for luminal and implying it is blood, and withholding/concealing that it wasvalso tested with a TMB test that proved it is NOT blood, is deliberate deception. It was not an oversight. It is the framing of the defendant.

She also lied in court about the TMBs, Machiavelli helpfully provided the cite.

Machiavelli said:
Maori asks whether other tests were performed on a specific spot on the corridoor floor adjacent to the bathroom door, and Stefanoni answered they only sprayed luminol there (p. 148 may 23.)

Apparently he feels since ninety pages earlier Ghirga had asked about confirmatory testing that should allow Stefanoni to pretend that was the case when Maori asked if any other testing was done.

I think that's about the silliest way to pretend that wasn't a lie I've ever heard! She was asked if other testing was done by Maori, what Ghirga was talking about before is of no relevance. Mind you at this juncture no one has seen the TMB negatives, it would not be until more than two months later when they showed up in a data dump that the defense would find out about them.

Stefanoni hid those TMBs and then lied about it in court, Massei renders it thusly:

Massei PMF 256-7 said:
With respect to the Luminol-positive traces found in Romanelli's room, in Knox's room and in the corridor, she stated that by analysing the SAL cards "we learn, in contradiction to what was presented in the technical report deposited by the Scientific Police, and also to what was said in Court, that not only was the Luminol test performed on these traces, but also the generic diagnosis for the presence of blood, using tetramethylbenzidine...and this test...gave a negative result on all the items of evidence from which it was possible to obtain a genetic profile"

He quotes Sarah Gino without prosecution rebuttal.

Kaosium

I am sadden and disappointed by your post, but I am sure you’ll struggle on.

Huuuh???? Why are you saddened? It certainly doesn't seem like Kaosium is saying anything that isn't true.

I think it is sad that Rudy murdered Meredith and has told this bs story. That's his story. He's the one that said he had a date with Meredith. He's the one with his shoe prints in Meredith's blood, it is his palm print on Meredith's pillow. It is his DNA that was found on a vaginal swab from Meredith, It was his DNA found in her purse. And it probably is his semen below Meredith.

I don't think Rudy had a date with Meredith. I think he's a lying scumbag. But he's the forgotten murderer. He's the one the one that you and the Kerchers should be angry at....yet somehow they and you are not. It's all about Amanda Knox and the phantom evidence.

Oh, and by the way, FYI:

BBC Three's current UK average market share is 1.5% (despite being a BBC channel, and one that is now available on every single TV in the country).

By contrast, for example, BBC Two's average market share is 5.8%, and BBC One's is 21.5%.

TJMK is really GWAK

-

As ever the original point now gets lost or simple ignored, making jokes about the murder victim is okay here now, because some other non JREF member, on some other site has made crass comments about Raffaele or Amanda. Yeah, win hearts and minds.
-

I admit that I have said some nasty mean things about the TJMK crowd, and I have been very disappointed with the Kercher's for not trying to distance themselves from Maresca (like firing him) and his disgusting projection of Meredith's death photo, and I don't think I've heard one bad thing from the TJMK crowd about that except it was Hellman's fault.

I saw that post about Rudy being family, and well, I did not agree with it, and I know I should have said something and I kind of did when I quoted that article where one of the Kercher's was anonymously quoted as being disgusted with the fact that he is free, out and about, getting a degree while Meredith who can now never do that because he killed her. It sickened them.

I don't believe the Kerchers are happy with Rudy getting out. I am kind of pissed big time about it myself.

I also heard rumours (I'll stop believing rumours when someone proves them wrong) that some people on the TJMK sites were kind of shouted down while expressing anger about Rudy. I don't like going there no more, I went there for two years and it's just weird that there is no real dissent there. If you (or anyone) still goes there, that would be cool if you could verify that or not.

As for myself, I think a lot of TJMK is GWAK and should be treated as such, but that is only my opinion,

I don't think it's quite hit home for some just how indoctrinated and swindled the Kerchers were by corrupt Italian officials, especially including their lawyer, Maresca. Going on a media campaign to demand extradition of Amanda Knox before her case is even finalized is a despicable action, and I am more than just 'saddened and disappointed' by it and those who excuse it.

Just how many of these BBC things are there? I quite enjoy BBC over here, but I believe we only have one and its always showing things like Sherlock Holmes and Downton Abbey.

ETA: Note how I added "quite". I even talk like a Brit when I mention BBC.

More on DNA from hair. Thanx Grinder

-

Science marches on:

A simple method to extract DNA from hair shafts was developed by using enzymatic laundry powder at the first step of the process. The whole extraction can be finished in less than 2 hours. The simple extraction reagent proposed here contains only two cheap components: ordinary enzymatic laundry powder and PCR buffer. After extraction, an ultra sensitive fluorescent nucleic acid stain, PicoGreen, was used for quantifying trace amount of double-stranded DNA in the solution extracted. For further validation of DNA extraction, four primers were employed to amplify DNA microsatellite loci. Both fluorescence spectroscopy and PCR results suggested that this method can extract DNA from hair shafts with good efficiency and repeatability. The study will greatly facilitate the use of hair shafts in future for DNA analyses on genome-wide scale.

Nice. Thanx Grinder,

I know next to nothing about Darkness Descending, one of the early books about this case, and also one of the most lurid. Paul Russell is the author, and co-producer of the coming Channel 3 documentary. Apparently he is of the belief that Rudy, yes Rudy Guede, was railroaded and that Amanda is pure evil. He's probably happy Guede is roaming the streets soon...

Why wouldn't the Kerchers' have trust in the Italian system, or their lawyer Maresca? They've had three of four Italian trials/appeals go in favour of guilt towards Knox/Sollecito?

Reading Massei is downright bizarre. He almost always destroys the prosecution's case and then turns around and bases his decision on logic pulled straight out of his backside.

Whatever. It's still gonna be infuriating and stupid. I saw one of Paul Russell's other Italian docs on the case. It's pretty obvious he's in lust with Andrea Vogt. I expect lots of leg shots.....

You know this isn’t TJMK, PMF .org/.net or injustice anywhere etc etc; is it?

I may live roughly 20 minute walk from where Meredith’s mother lives but I did not know the family before or since Meredith’s murder. That being said, either this thread has become a PIP echo chamber whereby there is no pretence of trying to win the hearts and minds of the great “don’t cares” through discussion verses making crass jokes or comments about the murder victim.

We are as one with regards to Guede.

I don't see any bags under her eyes

There's a string in one of the earlier threads with some money quotes from his book. I think Charlie Wilkes and Rose Montague posted some money quotes. Pretty funny stuff.

Or just being polite, I respect and like Kaosium. There’s a novel idea, discuss? Nah!

I like and respect you too, Coulsdon.

However, lemme put it this way:

Remember a while back when the issue which was called the 'greatest miscarriage of justice in Canadian history' was being aired? The Guy Paul Morin case? It wasn't John Douglas who initially put those Canadian police onto Morin, it was the mother of the victim. Now she not only has to live with knowing her darling daughter was murdered, and that her son and friends used to molest her, but also that she helped implicate an entirely innocent man and destroy his life. She's come to terms with the fact he wasn't involved and has accepted it; I can't help but imagine that just made it worse.
