Well the TOD evidence can't have been a slam dunk, or else it would have figured prominently in the defence.

Extradition of AK should be straightforward now. The US can't re-hear the case.

Obviously, Cassation is in the tank for the prosecution.

And, of course the US won't "re-hear" the case. But you think that means that extradition is "straightforward"? I'll bet not.

The US has an extradition agreement with Italy. Public opinion shouldn't come into it.

I've noticed that the US attitude to extradition seems a bit variable depending on whether they want someone sent to the US from elsewhere, or whether elsewhere is demanding that a US citizen be handed over.

So I'm going to wait and see what happens.

I don't think the ECHR is a completely hopeless cause either.

Rolfe.

It's just amazing to watch this live. Two people who have proven their innocence BARD being convicted to murder.

Just amazing.

It's clear that the Supreme Court ruling will uphold the verdict. Raffaele will be in prison for years. Amanda's life is ruined. I don't want to conjecture how their lives will pan out. I just hope that the U.S.A looks carefully at all this. But even if Amanda stays in the U.S. for the rest of her life Rafaelle is finished.

should be an interesting next few days here.

They can't extradite until after the motivations and the appeal process has been exhausted,

d

Are you certain of that? After all, they were originally jailed before the process was exhausted.

A delay in extradition won't help AK. By then the case will not be generating heat, and public support will have diminished.

LOL. Where do you get this. The final decision has to be approved politically. That means public opinion comes into play.

Judicial opinion will come into play somewhere along the line, too. That should be interesting.

Exactly.

I don't get why the CTers aren't embracing this result. They assured us over and over that after the "mistake" of the first verdict, the court would eventually get it right. Well, they have.

Obviously drunk on the Kool aid. Who's going to bring her back over ??? You ?

She can always pose for Playboy.

Even if she avoids extradition, I can't imagine any company hiring her, other than the WWF perhaps. Most companies would prefer that their employees not be stabbed to death.

Why would the United States extradite her?

This is the result that was to be expected. Shocking nonetheless. I feel so sorry for Raffaele. I hope he has a back up plan. Should have stayed in the DR.

I can think of no bigger rape victims that these two young people. I would rather let Bubba in jail have a go at me than to live with this injustice. They have both been royally ph ckd by the system. This in my eyes is way more tragic than being ph'd by a lone crazy. Being screwed under color of law is nasty.

I have a bet for BW that the motivation report will prove me right - they will just string together a bunch of words in Machiavellian logic. He will be proud.

Nencini's motivations report will say he was following the stipulations of Cassazione. It will be a two pager.

What a travesty.

Clearly you don't understand. The State Department is a political organization and has the right to turn down extradition requests.

Justice for Meredith at last. Cassation ruling to follow so it's not officially over but truth, reason, and science emerge victorious once again.

Absolutely a wrong almost righted The myth of the 50 hour interrogation and other fables will soon gather dust along with her book.

Funny, I was just thinking about a plate of shrimp and you showed up. Let's see the motivation. That should be a laugh. The truth is not going anywhere whatever a bunch of fools wearing funny clothes say. Stick around Stilicho and we'll see who lasts longest.
