But in my bedroom right now i have some objects that nobody in existence has.

From that statement we can conclude that you are nobody or you don't exist. Perhaps you intended an 'else' in there.

The "what have I got in my pocket" routine was tried once by one of the greatest skeptics ever. He took a common object, placed it in a sealed envelope, signed and labeled the envelope and locked it in his safe. The only clue was like a 10 digit number that he said would prove that he didn't swap the contents after it was guessed. And guess it somebody did. One of the regulars here. Did JREF pay out the million? No. They found some loophole like the claimant hadn't filled out an application first.

Link please. I very much doubt that story. Perhaps the regular would like to come forward? You said 'guessed' and not 'used telepathy'.

Hey Dan O. I'd like you to post the "best testing strategy" for determining whether a person has telepathic powers. Please show mathematically that your strategy is better than all other possible strategies.

It's a mystery. He's always going on about that, in between accusing us of claiming to be doctors, but never actually makes suggestions about how telepathy should be tested. Any test that he could suggest has probably been done and shown that no telepathic ability was present.

If you get the chance, ask James Randi if it has been proven that Telepathy does not exist.

In the contract that you are saying existed between the claimant and the JREF, what was the loophole? Can you show this contract that you claim exists?

However to answer your question, There are two MDC tests, The first to verify a phenomenon is happening, The second rules out chance events. [ETA: correct this if I'm mistaken]

You are mistaken. The two tests were identical. Chance is never ruled out, only reduced to better than one in a $Million odds.

In the later years they added an extra element requiring the applicant to get a professional witness to the event and have the witness statement notarized. This extra element didn't show anything except that the applicant could at least fool someone that thought they were above being fooled so at least the applicant would be interesting if not possessing an extraordinary ability.

I have exchanged emails with him in the past. If you want to ask him you can find email address on this site. He would say the same as me. Telepathy has failed every test.

Hi Dan. I respect everyones opinion and am not here to argue. That said, its an interesting story. But was the test repeated? Because...pffft...it only was a ten digit(or up to ten digit?) number. What`s that? Lol. Only in the low billions. What`s THAT for proving anything? Lol. Enjoy the day. I think everyone really likes you here. I think you are making THEIR day.

With the emphasis on story. It will remain merely a story until some evidence is provided.

Randi would answer the question. He is not afraid to tell the truth.

Correct, and the truth is that telepathy has failed every test. You have the brass neck to accuse me of not answering questions? When are you going to admit that none of us claimed to be a doctor? You continue to ignore that question and now you are making up stories about the MDC. Where is the evidence of your accusation?

An ability to read minds that is just .001% better than chance is still a paranormal ability that would turn science on it's head and qualify to win the MDC if properly demonstrated. You are claiming above to know about these things so what is the best testing strategy to use to demonstrate such an ability? Show your math so that we may verify your answer.

How would anyone find out they have this obscure ability in the first place?

As I already said, that was the loophole. A contract didn't exist because the claimant didn't follow the rules and submit an application. There was a live thread about it on this site. I think the claimant might have even been a mod or became a mod. What better way to keep the masses in line than to know in advance where they are going to breach the MA.

A link to the thread please. Does anyone remember that thread? I don't. I'm sure it would have caused a fuss. It would have happened in 2007 when you joined up here. I joined in 2008 and there has been no such thread since then.

Can anyone link to that thread? Otherwise I will assume that it does not exist.
