Vaccine/autism CT discussion

There was an item on the news this morning about polio returning to Syria. 10 confirmed cases due the vaccination project missing around half a million kids because of the civil war*. There was also one in the last couple of weeks about another outbreak of measles in Wales due to missed vaccinations because of that charlatan Wakefield's lies which are still circulating. Clayton's assertions and those of others like him cause people to refuse vaccinations. I see no ethical difference between advising someone to refuse a vaccination for nebulous or outright false reasons and advising someone who has cancer to refuse the correct treatment and be treated with chanting, herbs and hot poultices instead.

If past behaviour is an indicator, I don't think we'll see him back in this thread until he thinks we'll have forgotten the last couple of hundred pages of unmitigated failure on his part to successfully defend one word of his unfounded and harmful claims.

*Polio obviously isn't the worst thing happening in Syria right now, but it is a stark reminder of what happens if you don't vaccinate a population against horrific diseases. Although the UN appeal for a ceasefire to try to enable mass vaccinations may be a conspiracy to make everyone in Syria autistic so in 18 years or so the civil war will just kind of fizzle out. This would happen because, as we all know, autism is a "death sentence" and all the Syrians of fighting age will be, well, dead I suppose.

Dr. Oz says NO!!! TO VACCINATING HIS KIDS!

This doctor Oz?

Wikipedia said:
Alternative medicine
Oz is a supporter of integrative medicine—combining conventional medical treatments with alternative therapies such as hypnosis, prayer, energy healing, and homeopathy. Oz's wife, Lisa, is described as a master of Reiki, a form of energy healing. Some conventional medical practitioners complain that Oz promotes unproven and harmful alternative medicine practices. Oz has described homeopathy to be "worth considering" for headaches alongside conventional remedies, even though homeopathy is considered ineffective and worthless by scientific and medical communities.

If so you may want to consider a second opinion.

one Dr on a youtube video IS NOT evidence Clayton, especially one that is an alternative medicine nut

This Dr. Oz?

These are the messages that resonate with me, as a parent and a doctor. I hope they will resonate with you.

1. Multiple studies conducted by academic institutions worldwide – which are not funded by pharmaceutical companies – have shown that vaccines do not play a role in autism. Click here for the studies. Vaccine safety concerns have not been ignored. In fact, they have been addressed appropriately.

Twenty seconds to find that one.

Back to the good old days. That will cheer Clayton up.

Clayton Moore, what % of the rich and doctors do not vaccinate their children

Dr. Oz says NO!!! TO VACCINATING HIS KIDS!
The quack-like Dr. Oz says NO!!! TO VACCINATING HIS KIDS!
Clayton Moore says NO!!! TO scientific evidence!
Clayton Moore says YES!!! TO argument from television celebrity (not even argument from authority !)!
Clayton Moore says YES!!! TO argument by YouTube video!

ETA: Clayton Moore proves that he cannot count :jaw-dropp!
Dr. Oz is not every doctor in the world. An example of 1 (rich?) doctor refusing to vaccinate their children is not evidence that the rich and doctors do not immunize their children.

And answering the question implies that this is an actual position that Clayton Moore holds.
Clayton Moore,
You must have done a lot of research to come to this conclusion so it will be easy to answer:
What % of the rich and doctors do not vaccinate their children?
Your position seems to be 100%.

What you and the others don't GET is that injecting MULTIPLE ONE FREAKING SIZE FITS ALL VACCINES into infants and children is absolutely INSANE.
What Clayton Moore does not GET is that injecting MULTIPLE ONE FREAKING SIZE FITS ALL VACCINES into infants and children is absolutely SANE because it saves their lives .

What Clayton Moore does not get is that going on a rant without presenting evidence just makes him look deluded. But then we have
Clayton Moore's 31 statements and 237 239 days of ignorance and delusion! so this is not a surprise :jaw-dropp.

Wrong. The vaccine concept is not NEW. Vaccines are constantly new and IMPROVED (=souped up). What you and the others don't GET is that injecting MULTIPLE ONE FREAKING SIZE FITS ALL VACCINES into infants and children is absolutely INSANE.

It's not a precisely measured drug. It's freaking multiple, sometimes up to 8, concoctions that disperse to who knows where in a tiny body.

...because their bodies are many, many, many times the size of the vaccines, and their developing immune system will benefit from the help.

Wow.

No insult intended here, serious question... does this guy Clayton have a major learning disability?

Serious answer - no. He's quite sincere. But he imagines he lives in a nightmareish mirror universe where vaccines don't actually work and instead kill, cripple or sicken vast numbers of recipients. A Kafkaesque conspiracy world where doctors know this and don't immunise their own families yet poison everyone else's for money and nobody has noticed this is happening except Clayton and a few similar brave souls. All published scientific papers, statistics and evidence are lies, everyone who says they've been immunised without suffering debilitating illness are liars, etc, etc.

So it's only a "learning disability" in the sense that he is unable to learn what he is completely certain is lies (despite its patent ridiculousness). Take pity: it must be a living hell, like being the one guy who knows the truth in the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

<edit> Or he's just a very patient troll, playing the long game.

He claims to be one of the smartest people in the world. That is trolling.

What does this have to do with vaxx causing autism?
He's assuming that since large doses of aluminum have neurotoxic effects, tiny doses of aluminum in vaccines must also have neurotoxic effects, therefore vaccines cause autism because aluminum.

Clayton, care to corroborate your non sequitur with scientific evidence?
Yes, I'd like some evidence on that, too, Clayton.

Back to the good old days. That will cheer Clayton up.
Bizarrely enough, Clayton has his own take on that outbreak.

He does tend to qualify for Einstein's definition of insanity, in that he keeps bringing up the same debunked arguments over and over, no matter the subject, if he thinks enough time has passed to forget the last time it got smacked down. He knows when to retreat, but not when to surrender, so to speak.
