Yes, the same one you are repeatedly ignoring. Let's release the CE2766 rifle for testing to see if it can be fired without depositing residue on the test firer's cheek.

I don't care what kind of test you use, in what universe does it make sense that a person firing a riffle would have gun fire residue on their frigging cheek? Maybe that could qualify as an argument as incredulity, but it simply makes no sense what so ever.

Read up. Didn’t see the name of any CIA officer that had the information you claimed to have.

We could save a lot of talking by test firing the CE2766 Carcano in evidence. It would leak like a sieve and prove Oswald was innocent.
Leak like a sieve? Really? I shot a rifle that leaked like a sieve once. It belched a bright orange flame and burnt my forehead; left a few marks too. I don’t recall anyone noticing any injuries to Oswald that were a result of a rifle leaking hot gun powder gases like a sieve.

Interesting that no 6.5mm bullets intended for the Carcano were ever found in Oswald's possession:
A PDF reviewing CIA provenance for the 6.5mm bullets:
The whole thing is speculation as stated in the title. Miss that part?

So what did they say when you requested that the Carcano be released for testing?

Other than events like this one or similar weapon failures, no shooter with a modern rifle will have nitrate residue on their face:

Unless they are using an antique revolver rifle...

People (untrained) often identify certain firearms by type than actual firearm nomenclature - every bolt action rifle is a "30/06" every lever action rifle a "Winchester" and every big revolver is a ".44 magnum."
Happens all the time with weapons and other equipment, people default to the most common, most popular or base their identification on TV. "Assault rifle" and "automatic" are common semi-generic terms.

I suspect if you cut though all the bluster, you'd find the identification of the "magic bullet" as a "hunting round" was just their way of describing a FMJ using what they knew.

Thank you for proving my point for me, I appreciate it.

It was the weapon of choice by Olympic marksmen up until WWII for its accuracy over long range. It was also the preferred rifle of elephant hunters because the round was powerful enough to drop a bull elephant with a single head-shot, and yet it was much lighter than the big elephant guns of the day.

The only people who think the Carcano is junk are people who don't know anything about guns or shooting.

You may be thinking of the Swedish Mauser model of 1900 CG-63 in 6.5 x 55mm. It was used extensively in target competitions in Europe both before and after WWII. The rifle was later updated in chambering to 7.62 NATO and is still being used.

There was one very well noted user of the 6.5 on elephants, W.D.M. Bell:

But he used the Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6.5x54mm, not the Carcano 6.5 x 52mm

I'm a huge fan of the 6.5 Swedish cartridge, and my next wildcat cartridge rifle build will probably be a .378 Weatherby magnum case necked down to 6.5mm.

With proper load development it should be an interesting 1000yd rig.

Since he wasn't carrying the rifle, why would he be carrying the bullets?

You can buy one for a few hundred bucks. Rather than constantly demanding other people do your work for you, why don't you (or any other CT) simply conduct your own tests with a matching rifle?

That's how most normal people would do it.

And what of the performance of the Carcano, B Strong?

It's a good if not great round, but since no higher quality military issue rifles were ever chambered for the round (as in the various Swedish issued rifles, or the commercial 6.5 MS cartridges in high quality sporting rifles) no load development has ever taken place and the round sank into obscurity, and wouldn't even be a subject for discussion if not for the JFK assassination.

Much like LHO if you think about it.

It did leak like a sieve. We know the FBIs own tests showed it left copious gunshot residue on the cheeks of every test shooter in their tests.

With some caveats, we can be reasonably certain Oswald hadn't fired any rifle that day.

The best evidence that the CIA was involved is Mexico City, were we know an imposter pretended to be Oswald in an apparent attempt to link him with Castro and the Soviet Union 6 weeks before the assassination. The CIA repeatedly lied through their teeth about this in almost every conceivable respect.

We also know that the CIA were so interested in Oswald he was one of only 200 people in the US to be subject to their highly illegal domestic mail interception operation, yet we're asked to believe they didn't open a mundane 201 file on him for over a year after he defected, and most absurd of all that they didn't debrief him after he returned to the US from the Soviet Union in 1962 - a preposterous lie.

In every respect the CIA were intensely interested in Oswald while simultaneously pretending they had no interest in him. The simplest explanation for this behaviour is he was an asset of some part of the CIA, whether Oswald knew it or not.

Not really. Oswald would still be in the history books even if the assassination hadn't occurred, as one of just a tiny handful of Americans to defect to the US in that period. There's even a book written about him pre assassination. And there are loads of FBI memos, some of them from Hoover himself, talking about Oswald, including one were Hoover complains that somebody is impersonating Oswald.
