New TWA Flight 800 film coming out

You're silly. If you bother to study this subject Mike Wire is well-known.

Irrelevant. You know of him, but you do not know him. And he does not know you. Therefore making a passionate defense of his character instead of a corroboration of his allegations is inappropriate.

Why don't you study this and get back to me when you know what you're talking about.

Why don't you get back to us when you can actually produce Wire, instead of playing the conspiracy theorist's typical hearsay shuffle.

You must not be paying enough attention. I already said at 20 miles from Flight 800's explosion.

You have yet to produce any actual evidence of any acoustic loading of any type from any range. You have simply alluded vaguely to such things. I realize what your claim is, but now you must produce evidence to support the claim.

Your questions are inherently self-exposing because the science is the simple science of shockwaves according to their source as was already stated.

Nice try. You couldn't answer even the simplest question regarding the decay in acoustic wattage over distance. And you interpolated such silly concepts as the "frequency" of a shockwave (which has none) somehow causing the bridge structure to resonate.

Sorry, don't pretend you aren't clueless on this "simple science."

You have yet to answer the point.

Nonsense. You claim a shockwave from conventional Navy ordnance would retain enough acoustic strength over 20 miles to affect a robust structure, and that a hitherto unknown property of this phenomenon (i.e., the "frequency" of an expanding shockwave) would cause that structure to resonate substantially while leaving the rest of the surroundings unaffected.

That is your claim. I have simply pointed out where that claim departs from the known behavior of the physical world and asked you substantiate your "guarantee" of that claim with appropriate rigor. Since your inability to discuss basic principles of fluid dynamics and shock waves demonstrates you are incapable of applying that rigor, I venture that you do not know yourself whether your claim could be true.

If you asked experts they would bear me out and you haven't shown otherwise.

I don't need to ask experts. I am an expert. And I've told you several times you don't know what you're talking about, and I've explained why you don't know what you're talking about.

You're clearly stumbling over your own ignorance and inability to give a credible answer.

Oh yes, "clearly."

Hand-waving. The science backs me.

You've provided no science. Nor can you discuss the science at even the elementary level. You are not talking to the scientifically illiterate here. You will not really be able to bluff your way past the demonstrated flaws in your argument.

That simply isn't true.

You're the one claiming it would, so show me the math that proves it would. You're alluding to things that science knows how to compute and model. You're saying the answer would come out a certain way if it were actually computed or modeled. But you aren't willing to do those computations or to point to where they have already been done. Hence you can't really have done your homework yet to know whether your belief is credible.

Except for the science that you've been conspicuously unable to disprove.

I have repeatedly showed you the flaw in its key premise. That counts as a refutation.

If we were to bother to do an academic study of what I said you would be disproven and I would be validated.

Do it then. Don't keep trying to tell me what "would" happen. That's just begging the question. Don't you see that the stuff you keep threatening us with is exactly what we're asking you to do?

You don't get to say that a rigorous examination of your claims will vindicate them if you aren't willing to supply the rigor.

There was never any examination of the shockwave pattern for obvious reasons (because it would prove a shootdown).

Circular reasoning.

Are you referencing the goofy nuclear shockwave graph above?

No.

Surely you're not serious?

Surely I am serious, and I'm quite accustomed to all the stupid sophomore debate club tactics you're deploying.

Specious evasion.

No, that's exactly how the scientific method words.

If we put you next to Dr Stalcup we would quickly see the radar caught evidence of mach 4 ejecta...

Bring it on. You keep telling me what "would" happen.

Again, you are ignoring that many qualified radar experts backed Stalcup on his claim.

Which ones, exactly, and where?

Stalcup is hardly a "raver" as you called him.

I didn't call him a "raver." Don't put words in my mouth.

He's a very quietly methodical professional who I think restrained himself too much.

Demonstrably false. I have explained how he was explicitly un-methodical in his treatment of the radar observations. You've done nothing to explain that; you simply assert that he should be trusted.

Much of what you write is laughable if you know the true facts of this case.

Then why are you spending so much time trying to poison the well instead of presenting these alleged facts. Before we reigned in your Gish Gallop you weren't presenting very much in the way of fact.

When all the bluster clears you haven't come up with an explanation for the mach 4 ejecta...

Asked an answered. Subversion of support: you haven't proven any such thing actually occurred. Your only support for that claim is that of a man who clearly and deliberately stepped outside his expertise and outside of the scientific method in order to make it.

...and especially have ignored the asymmetrical pattern that conflicted with the fuel tank forensics.

Asked and answered.

You must not be paying enough attention. I already said at 20 miles from Flight 800's explosion. Your questions are inherently self-exposing because the science is the simple science of shockwaves according to their source as was already stated.

You're not paying attention too closely. Go back and read the original post. JayUtah already knows the answer he's asking of you but you fail to understand what the answer implies. I'll give you a hint and ask that you Google the phrase "inverse square law" and then think about 20 miles and then look at the graphic that Matthew Ellard posted.

This is a well-worn conspiracy theory tactic, and it's not fooling anyone.

What's not fooling anyone here is the hot wind you are using to avoid answering the evidence.

Interpreting ATC radar is not part of any physics curriculum I'm aware of. I'm not prepared to accept him as an expert in the interpretation of radar records.

He's well qualified because the data being interpreted is so basic anyone with any basic academic ability could do so. You're making spurious points. Besides, you keep ignoring that Stalcup is associated with both ARAP and FIRO - both organizations being well-staffed with experts in the aviation and radar fields. Your replies are noticeably weak in comparison.

No such burden of proof exists. Stalcup has the burden to prove his method is valid. He has not done so, hence we have no obligation to trust the results of his analysis.

Stalcup has shown reasonable evidence that no one has reasonably disproven. And he's well-qualified to do so, despite your flagrantly-deceptive denials.

For two reasons. First, the only evidence of an "asymmetric plume" is poorly-interpreted radar data. Second, debris dispersal patterns are not expected to be symmetrical in an airframe breakup. Stalcup is an expert neither in the interpretation of radar nor in the aerodynamics of airframe failure.

That's simply false. Here's where you destroy your credibility. The radar data clearly shows debris ejecting to the starboard side. No serious investigator involved with this questions this. There is no ejecta to the port side. There's no "poor interpretation" possible with this kind of unquestionable data. You are just adding non-truths to obfuscate the facts.

You are making irrelevant trivial points designed to distract from the real arguments. Besides, your own CIA animation clearly shows a symmetrical fuel explosion pattern. So you are contradicting what your own people said. Well done! lol

I think this one example alone shows your input to be fatally deficient and not worth responding to.

No, it's pseudo-science designed to support a pre-existing conspiracy theory. The proponents have the burden to prove their methods are valid and that the results they derive by those methods are reliable to an extent they can demonstrate. There is a procedure for validating methods. Stalcup has not followed those methods.

Since when have you had any objections to pseudo-science since your side has specialized in it and had to back-off many of its claims including the Zoom Climb? Your pre-existing center fuel tank explosion is what is the invalid premise here seeing how the investigation never found any real evidence of it as the initiating cause. While you pretend high standards don't forget your side offered the seat glue explanation. Where is your haughty protest over that? You're just filibustering sophist filler material. Stalcup has satisfied the science by showing the leading piece of ejecta got to that point at mach 4. What's painfully obvious here is that your contrived, hollow protests have failed to disprove that.

This is common pseudo-scientific practice. Conspiracy authors drag up some expert who has valid credentials, but who -- in the case in question -- abandons reliable methods and just "goes off the reservation" to make wild claims with the semblance of science about them. What makes a scientific finding valid is its adherence to the scientific method, not the credentials of its proponent. Stalcup did not validate his method. That's the most colossal error one can make in science.

You're obviously in denial and that method validation protest you make is disingenuous. Meanwhile your side doesn't offer anyone to explain the results besides this technical dishonesty. They all ran and hid.

Where is your explanation for NASA scientist Charley Basset who protested he never did the tests FBI lied about and said he did? Where is YOUR validation? Besides, what you're saying isn't true and Stalcup did legitimately show a piece of ejecta that traveled at mach 4.

So let me put the burden of proof back on you, where it belongs. You keep throwing around the word "forensic," and you keep claiming that "forensic" science disproves the prevailing theory. However I note a conspicuous lack of any similarly rigorous forensic science to prove that your theory also answers the evidence. You simply tell us that a missile strike will produce the "Mach 4 ejecta cloud," you say you observe, but where's your science to prove that? You simply tell us that a high-order ordnance detonation will shake a highway bridge from 20 miles away. Where's your empirical experiment to show that?

Your in contempt of commonly-known science. It isn't me who should be answering these obscene reversals. It is you who should be explaining how a 300 foot per second fuel explosion created such a quickly-traveling ejecta plume? You're in denial of that plume, but it's clearly smack right there on the radar evidence. I'm satisfied with this debate because your desperation to get around the science is obvious and your evasive demands don't come anywhere close to meeting the requirements of what has been shown.

You clearly have a double standard when it comes to proving forensic engineering hypotheses. Apparently only handwaving suffices to establish or falsify your hypothesis, but any competing hypothesis has to be empirically valid clear out to your arbitrary, layman's standard of proof. How does that work?

Says the guy who tolerates the Zoom Climb blowing up in your side's face; evidence tampering; lying by FBI over residue tests; proven falsehoods with the St Louis bomb test; denial of witness testimony, and many many more examples of government duplicity.

Not as big as your double standard considering what you haven't come close to disproving here.

No, I don't. Subversion of support: you first need to prove there was a Mach 4 ejecta cloud that requires an explanation.

I already have. The first pieces of ejecta reach a point on the radar that required mach 4 to get them there. You can't argue this. It's hard science written in stone in the radar data. You can't get around it nor do any of your transparent excuses disprove it. Let's always keep in mind that your side never proved any forensic evidence showing a center fuel tank explosion as the cause. So you're a hypocrite. You don't demand the same from your side. Anyone who argues the ejecta itself is not credible since none of the officials from your side do this. It's right there on radar. Anyone who argues it dismisses their own credibility.

Bench experiments can only prove general congruence. If the hangar and featured a full airframe in flight with proper aerodynamic loading then you can expect it to be of suitable fidelity. But I have already answered this twice now.

False obfuscation. The necessary forensic observations can be made from the wreckage as it exists in the hangar. What you are obviously doing (and it isn't fooling anyone) is you are trying to bamboozle with highly technical challenges based on contrived esoteric knowledge but what's pathetically obvious here is that the original point hasn't been answered and that the diverting high science that was used to distract from it wasn't necessary. It was just being used as a diversion because its author thought people would be fooled by it. It's rubbish and a specious argument. If we go back to my original point the uniform failure of the forward center fuel tank wall in the forward direction shows the blast happened symmetrically. Therefore this fatally conflicts with the asymmetrical plume forensic data shown on the radar.

No. It's not obfuscation -- I'm showing you the flaw in your reasoning. The "Mach 4" straw-man is an inference based on the interpretation of radar data made by an unqualified individual according to an unproven method. I don't have to explain anything that you can't prove is a fact. You desperately want me to accept that pseudo-scientific conclusion as a valid requirement for any credible explanation.

Don't you understand that the more you offer these substance-devoid protests without being able to disprove the actual evidence the stronger it becomes? You have yet to give a credible answer to the mach 4 ejecta besides painfully transparent sophist technicalities over methodology. Meanwhile the evidence itself stands and you haven't touched it.

Sorry, that's not how science works. It's most certainly not how a forensic engineering explanation works. A forensic engineering finding has to stand up not only to the rigors of science, but to the probing and prodding of adverse attorneys and their experts who are well-motivated to poke any hole your theory. I'm probing your theory in its weakest spot. I realize that may not be where you want me to poke it, but I'm not sorry about that.

The confession that you are ignoring the sound evidence that it is.

No, it's in the queue. But you're Gish-galloping in order to avoid a detailed discussion of any one particular point. We're quite familiar with this tactic. So we're intentionally limiting you to a few points at a time so you can't dart from topic to topic evasively -- which is quite obviously what you're trying to do.

OK. Let's discuss the particular point of FBI criminally lying about the seat glue test.

I'm happy letting the readers decide for themselves which of us is technically delinquent. You've all but admitted you're just quoting conspiracy web sites. How does that give you superior technical understanding?

Another falsehood. The TWA 800 site is run by pilots and top credibility industry professionals.

That's because Boeing was in deep litigation over potential design and maintenance flaws. They have to do such things to establish, in a legal sense, their position on the objective validity of their engineering designs. If a government agency comes out with some particular theory, and that theory might end up in court, then Boeing has to be on record regarding it. They would not have exercised due diligence by not publicly contesting the finding, regardless of the scientific or engineering rationale behind it.

You're excuse-making again. Boeing protested because the science CIA used to create the Zoom Climb was obviously unsupportable. Boeing wanted to distance itself from it exactly for the legal reasons you cite. You're not being honest about the true context. 747 captain, and Aviation Science post-grad, Captain Ray Lahr sued CIA over its Zoom Climb science. Did you know CIA never released it? You really have real credibility here backing the side that is the biggest offender of what you describe. Meanwhile Lahr used his aviation science knowledge to present the formulas that proved a nose-less 747 couldn't possibly Zoom Climb. Lahr's lawsuit is still being stalled in the courts. So where are your methodology complaints with Lahr who has satisfied all of your scientific demands? Where is your demand that CIA come forth with its science? You're not being honest.

Whoa! Who said anything about "backing" any version? You presented your theory and I'm showing you what's wrong with it. No one is making any counterclaims or arguing from some desired or entrenched position. Your inability to support your specific theory with any credible evidence has nothing to do with

You can't afford such a luxury in front of the facts. Very self-forgiving of you considering what you demand from others. And considering what you've failed to answer and how.

Irrelevant. No amount of "flops" identified by eager armchair investigators constitutes proof for any given affirmative claim.

In some sophist theoretical heaven I suppose but not in the real world. To me you look like a laughable lord guarding his burnt-out gilded crack house of deception.

I'm comfortable letting the readers decide which of us is making the most credible argument. You, on the other hand, seem very, very eager to plant a vote in the readers' minds. Why is that?

Because TWA 800 was shot down and covered-up.

Anyone can compare the evidence content of my posts to the hot air content of yours.

Do not "guarantee" me anything. I'm an engineer and you're discussing an engineering problem. Your "guarantee" in that context would be an engineering proof that shows me your answer is correct.

We both know it would.

It doesn't matter what missile. I think most honest people would see the answers I got here don't necessarily deny the missile or disprove the forensic evidence I posted.
Au contraire, your inability to suggest a reasonable answer effect the credibility of your story.

<much snippage of conspiratorial ramblings>
Now I suppose I'm going to be asked what brand the seat fabric was.
How about some evidence for your ravings?

I can't find the reference right now because Google probably scrubbed it.
 Right.....................

However there were three submarines in the area during the Whiskey Testing ground maneuvers the government lied about that night. The subs were the Albuquerque, Wyoming, and Trepang.
Right. An LA, a Sturgeon and an Ohio; none of which are capable of firing surface-to-air missiles except MANPADS from the sail, requiring the boat to be surfaces.

A crewman for one of those subs told a reporter they had loaded experimental missiles a week earlier.
Evidence for this claim.

I believe it was the Wyoming that was on its inaugural mission that evening. When it returned to Groton its captain was relieved of duty. Relief of duty for a captain is a serious matter in the Navy. It isn't done lightly. There was never public explanation given for this action.
Name of the officer you allege was relieved of duty.
The Wyoming had just been commissioned, FYI.

There were dozens of witnesses who saw the missile rise from the sea surface. FBI went to conspicuous lengths to deny their witnessing.
Right................

When the crash happened the controllers at the Air Traffic Control center in Connecticut told FAA they thought they had just witnessed a missile shootdown. Their radar tapes were then taken away as evidence. In the meantime they were told not to talk about it. When the tapes were given back to them the controllers said the blips showing the shootdown had been removed. The head controller then made a public statement that it was against his moral conscience to withhold this witnessing and that he had a duty to come forth and tell of it. This is a true story.
Evidence for yoru unsupported claim.

I don't know what you are talking about but it smells like a ridiculous diversion you are making-up to avoid the evidence.
You made the claim about the explosion, it's been shown to be ridiculous.

The bridge shaking was told by Mr Wire when he gave his first statement. Mr Wire had witnessed the whole event and felt an obligation to come forward. When he gave his account he told it as he experienced it and had no idea of the forensic evidence he was revealing. It was Mr Wire who innocently described the bridge shaking violently.
And you've been shown the yield of the alleged explosive necessary to cause such an effect from it's supposed detonation point.

You can't beat the science.
What science is this? All you've done so far is spout unevidenced claims.

That's a specious argument.
No it's not, it's simple physics.

Ah, ground zero was at 13,000 feet, 20 miles offshore over the Atlantic.
And to cause the shaking you (an your supposed witness) alleged occur what size of blast would be needed?

What's not fooling anyone here is the hot wind you are using to avoid answering the evidence.

What evidence is he avoiding? Are you having a problem understanding that opinion is not evidence?

You're right, he's not fooling anyone, because he's not actually making any claims. He's asking for you to back up what you claim.

We do notice you are failing miserably at this.:boggled:

You're not serious?

Ellard posted a nuclear bomb damage graphic not connected to anything I wrote.

A 300 foot per second fuel explosion doesn't shake a highway bridge's superstructure at 20 miles. 2000 foot per second US missile warhead ordnance does.

Where is Ellard's Graph for that?

I'm confident explosives experts would bear me out on this.

I don't know much about missiles, but 2000 feet per second seems slow for a missile explosion. Isn't TNT about 10 times that fast? Is it something where they aren't packed very densely for weight or something? Does the shell of the warhead slow it down by an order of magnitude?

ETA - wiki tells me that TNT detonates at 6,900 meters per second at a density of 1.60 grams per cm3.

Except, as I pointed out ages ago in this thread, the forensic examination of the human remains from the flight does not support the missile theory.

You simply do not know what you are talking about. The coroner said the burn marks and injuries on the bodies of the victims over the center tank were completely random. Did you know that they did matching of the bodies to their seat locations and injuries? They found that persons with hardly any injuries were seated next to persons who were badly mutilated. Also persons with bad burns were seated next to persons who were unburned. What you say is completely oppositely wrong, and the coroner was on record as saying the injuries did not match other known cases of fuel fires in accidents but just so happened to exactly match the injuries of victims in known missile shootdowns. Did you know that? Did you know there's pictures of this? This is in the new documentary you people are in contempt of by the way.

I have experience with AA Missiles fired from Ships. I was involved in a bit of a punch up in the South Atlantic back in the 80s. We shot down Argentinian Aircraft at ranges from 35 to 5 miles with Sea Dart Ship launched AA Missiles. at 5 miles we heard the bang but no shock wave, didn't even shake my hat never mind a bridge. They carry 24 lb of HE and a fragmenting warhead later replaced by a continuous rod. I have seen the older Sea Slug Missiles carried on the Counties launched against target drones and impact at about 5 miles they carry 200lb of HE and they make a nice bang but sorry, no shock waves or shakes. That size of warhead would be about the same as a US 'Standard'. AA missile.
Our missiles weren't heard at their maximum range.

What missiles were these subs carrying that could shake a bridge 20 miles away?
Is there any conventional ordnance in service anywhere that could even be heard at 20 miles?

Where does the huge bridge shaking Kaboom come from?

What were the coroners exact words? What other missile shootdown incidents did he refer to or have listed experience with?

It was an SSBN. They carry ICBMs. They do not carry Surface to Air Missiles. They are not even fitted for them. There is a substantial difference between a Trident and an SM-2. There is also no Guided Missile equipment mounted anywhere on an SSBN, to guide the SAM to the target.

Explain to me what an ICBM-exclusive sub was doing in near-shore Whiskey testing ground maneuvers? That's a fish out of water by your own definition.

I'll allow you to lead me down this side-track while you ignore my forensic points. However I'll require you to explain why US gov wouldn't be capable of creating an "experimental missile," as the crewman said, that would be compatible with the Wyoming? How do you know they didn't have this capacity?

Also, you ignore the elephant in the room of the captain being relieved of duty upon return to Groton.

As an American I'm really impressed how the majority of Americans present on the internet show such an impressive example of American check and balance integrity. Personally, I think it shows the rest of the world what that weaponry is truly guarding.

However, my view is that we should be able to ask the seamen what the deal is on this? Why can't we?

Let's forget the source and just deal with the missile evidence itself, no matter what kind or launching point. That's what the new documentary does.

You named an SSBN that was just commissioned, doing sea trials. Plus, if there was a live-fire exercise, please list for me the associated NOTAM.

You can invent anything you want, and so can your crewman (please list a reference, by the way). However the fact remains that, until you can prove otherwise, SSBNs do not carry Surface to Air Missile systems capable of launching and guiding a missile to an in-flight target. "Some guy claimed it" is not sufficient proof.
Also, you ignore the elephant in the room of the captain being relieved of duty upon return to Groton.
You still can't even name the Captain.

Thanks for the flag-waving.

Who is the seaman?

You can't get a missile to a target without it being launched, first. At this point, your conjecture has no plausibility on that point alone.
