If anything is hilarious it's your and Briars' resort to innuendo instead of argument. Please explain, if not to me then to whoever is not on your ignore list just now, what inferences we are supposed to draw from the supposedly strange behaviour.

This is not for Sherlock particularly but one of the 'strange' things is supposed to have been Amanda's preoccupation with her own safety. How unfeeling! Surely this is not normal! Nobody attacker her. She was in no danger. What selfishness! But it was the English girls who stayed up all night unable to sleep and then ran away home rather than stay a minute longer. Was that 'normal'?

Yea, being thousands of miles away from home and your roommate is murdered in the very next room to where you slept day and night and Amanda is not supposed to think about her own safety? Seriously?

I bet Amanda's Mom and Dad were probably concerned about her safety. I bet Filomena and Laura were concerned about their own safety. And as you noted, the English girls were so concerned about their own safety that they flew back to England.

Also, What crime would you charge her with? Insensitivity to the Brits? Or murder?
Brits, Americans and even Canadians on the whole would react in a similar fashion say to photograph’s involving child fatalities in a road traffic accident.

I wanted to bring this to the front, in case Anglo is on Sherlock's ignore list.

Seldom does a more bald-faced display of confirmation bias slip past a poster.

Just stay with that highlighted part for a minute. <pause> C'mon, stay with it, don't rush it.

Let's now build a similar case against Filomena, another person completely and totally innocent of this horrible crime. And why not, there are those out there intent on building non-existent cases against Knox and Sollecito.

Fictional conversation back at the Questura, evening of Nov 5.

Memo from Napoleoni to PM Mignini:

We need to assemble an all night interrogation beginning tonight. I think I can close this case, based on what Giobbi says is keen observation of behaviour.

We need to summon Ms. Romanelli and her boyfriend to the Questura.

I strongly suspect that Filomena Romanelli is involved in this. Why? Well, Italian TV recorded Filomena's boyfriend rubbing her buttocks outside the cottage on the very afternoon that Ms. Kercher was found. Is this the behaviour of someone who is grieving the lass of a roommate?

Also, Ms. Romanelli gained access to the cottage twice. Quite suspiciously, she was the one who confided in the postal police that the burglar must be a stupid burglar. Why was Ms. Romanelli so intent on calling attention to her room? Could she be trying to control our interpretation of how the room got to be the way it did?

Further, Ms. Romanelli is a front-door key holder. So is the other flatmate, Ms. Knox, but Ms. Knox has a solid alibi - she was with her boyfriend all night, Mr Sollecito. Sollecito, rather than acting suspicious, was actually quite helpful in pointing out the pooh in the toilet to us. We have not, as yet, matched the pooh to anyone with DNA.

But Ms. Romanelli continued to display suspicious behaviour. First, she retained the services of a lawyer. When asked, she said she did that because she was concerned that she'd be on the hook for the damage to her room, as well as rent at the cottage while it was behind a police line.

Is this the act of a sympathetic roommate, or the cold calculation of a killer? Where's her sympathy to the victim? She also quickly returned to work. Why was she not home in bed crying?

Add to this two more things. One is that she actually did return to the cottage after the police tape was up. She retrieved her laptop, which we believe she thought would be damaging to her. Unfortunately our technician damaged part of her computer in trying to find information linking her to the crime.

Second - she did not go to the memorial for Meredith. True, Ms. Knox also did not go, but at least she was eating a pizza at the time so we can fully appreciate how these basic needs, plus the stresses of the week, might cause someone like Ms. Knox who is also so young to want to avoid the questions that others might have had if she'd attended.

Ms. Romanelli is older so should have been able to handle herself at such affairs, which makes it all the more suspicious that she did not attend. She very well could have appealed to her employer that she needed to attend after such a horrible event in her life, but our information is that she didn't even ask. That's a further clue to her unsympathetic attitude towards the murder.

I am recommending that we call in her boyfriend for questioning on the assumption that she will not want to be alone and she has nowhere else to go, really. If we can get Filomena's boyfriend to withdraw his alibi, maybe with a bit of pressure, we can get Ms. Romanelli to tell us what she is withholding about what she knows about Ms. Kercher's murder.

Sincerely,
Monica

Absolutely EXCELLENT BILL!!!!!! (From In Living Color) NAILED IT!!!

Seriously, CoulsdonUK.... what crime would you charge Knox with based on her behaviour?

You are indeed a singular wit!

Not sure whether your post is responding to what I wrote, please re-read or better still correct me if other student friends or acquaintances of Meredith’s didn’t attend the memorial.
I could be wrong but I doubt that either defence team will be making the case that Filomena and or Laura are responsible for Meredith’s murder.

The fog of nonsense descends once again.

Bliars, I totally agree but these guys reaction to just saying she acted strange is unbelievable, they just can't say, 'yes, she acted strangely' and be done with it, they have to argue, that's what they do, they will change around everything you say as well, and then add a 'what does that have to do with the murder', complete denial, hilarious. Where Grinder when you need him?

No Sherlock you don't get it. There was NOTHING STRANGE about how she acted, only your interpretation of how she acted. Which is all about confirmation bias. She acted strangely because we already said she acted strangely.

Amanda was strange, in the sense that she was the only one there who barely spoke Italian. For everyone else at the cottage Italian was their native language. They had the group to hang on to. Amanda must have felt incredibly isolated and I am sure needed to hang on to the only thing she could for comfort and that was Raffaele. I certainly understand that. Can't you?

Of course Filomena and/or Laura had nothing to do with the murder. That's as stupid as suggesting that Amanda and/or Raffaele had something to do with the murder. You see the Defense team isn't as stupid as Giobbi or Mignini.

Seriously, CoulsdonUK.... what crime would you charge Knox with based on her behaviour?

The first example I gave was on the day Meredith was discovered so at that time Raffaele and Amanda as far as I can recall hadn’t questioned any more than anyone else who knew Meredith. As I indicated I can understand why the difference in their reaction would have been noticed by the police.

I am not cutting Filomena and Laura any slack just pointing out that they weren’t students and had day jobs; do you know whether any other friends or acquaintances didn’t attend the memorial? It’s not relevant what you or I would have done we have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.

The point I am making is the difference in their reaction would have been noticed by any experienced homicide detective.

Okay I hope the highlight, italics and bold helps. Please read what I write rather than what you think I am saying.

That's right, and sitting on Raff's lap, making faces and sticking tongues out at one another while everyone around is grieving and in tears, not strange at all, it's just Amanda being Amanda.

How do you know what everyone else did ? The whole world didn't stop just because of this murder. Life still went on. People still got up and went to work/school . She sat on his lap and made faces ? Really ? What kind of 3rd grade logic is that. What did everyone else do? When did Filomenia crack her first smile or laugh . Was it a day later? 2 days later? In fact she cared more about getting (a lawyer) stuck with damages to the apartment. How selfish.

You... like Steffanoni... cant find anything on AK or RS so you are placing the magnifying glass on her to amplify the results in the hope that you can fool someone. Other wise known as throwing Pocket sand !!!

Noticed is one thing, I hope that a detective notices everything. But to attribute any significance or suspicion is another.

CoulsdonUK - experienced detective? You are aware this was Napoleoni's first case?

And you still haven't said what crime YOU'D charge someone with who displayed that behaviour! Truly I am not being argumentative. I sincerely want to know what the behaviour looks like you you!

Anglo, I let everyone out every so often, most earn their way back in, some sooner than later, there is only one here whom I will never let out.
Now for your question, when did I ever say that anything is to be drawn from anything. This is typical PIP behaviour to try and draw an argument out of someone. Once again, Tesla (and I really do respect him) mearly stated that he did not find anything Amanda did as 'strange or suspicious', he listed a few examples that I myself do not disagree with, however, how anyone can say there are things that she did that were not strange or suspicious is beyond me, does no one remember how this very thread originally started? Amanda may very well be the poster child for 'strange and suspicious' worldwide after this is all over.

Yes

Sherlock...present your evidence of how Knox was involved, describe that involvement and provide the facts that show that involvement or else please STHU. Thanks.

Well there you have it. She sat on his lap. Case closed. Besides Sherlock sat around a campfire and told this story to her friends and they all believed her story that Knox is guilty. Imagine that ! Remember!

As for Italians being stupid well. I feel your frustrations and agree the PLE and Court systems must be stupid to think this craps going to float. But as for the average Italian they really just don't care. Much like the average American, Brit etc. It's not them in trouble so why would they bother . To be honest ..it didn't really get that much coverage. If they try to extradite her though I'll bet that will generate much more publicity and draw a lot more public interest.

Sorry are you suggesting that Napoleoni was the only detective in the questra when Meredith’s friends gathered, really?

Speaking of fog of nonsense CUK. Filomena and Amanda display essentially the same behaviour. Neithrr go to the makeshift memorial for Meredith. Yet you say it is suspicious and should attract seasoned investigators about Amanda, but you don't regard it as "cold" that Filomena wouldn't leave work for an hour for a friend.

This is the very definition of confirmation bias when an equivalency is presented to you and you regard only one of them as understandable as attracting attention.

Do you have a daughter her age. I do ...Acts just like her. Wants to be an adult on the one hand yet still occasionly does stupid $hit. It's all a part of growing up.

Leaving for Germany immediately after the murder. Now that's suspicious.

No. Male cops were goading Knox to display sexualized behaviour that Knox immaturely regarded only as yoga. And other cops, Chiacchiera being one, openly disagreed with Napoleoni's direction towards arrests.

Next question.

Please point out the post # were I used the word suspicious?
