Looking for Skeptics

I am really cheesed off at having little and no internet since last Nov. I called talktalk and they are sending out an engineer on Wednesday. Hopefully this will resolve my internet issues.

I can sympathise. It's TalkTalk I'm with and oh dear me! My ex also used to be with TalkTalk and there were the same problems; the internet was always down and it took weeks to sort out.

As far as the dispute about what happened that evening is concerned I'll simply note that I consider both Alderbank's and flaccon's versions of events to both be accurately recalled to the best of their abilities. The differences can be explained entirely as being due to different expectations and interpretations.

I would like to respond to this, however:

As Alderbank stated within his evaluation, I first referred him to the message "like" "We don't want the card tricks, it's dangerous playing games with spirits" I considered this a very important message. This message has since been heard by 4 other people.
Why have you still not explained to the spirits that they are not being asked to do card tricks or play games, just to provide the objective evidence for their existence which is absolutely essential if the important messages they claim to want to communicate are ever to be heard at all by anyone except you and a few friends, let alone taken seriously? If they are real and they continue to act so stupidly and ignorantly then they are wasting everybody's time, including yours.

UHHH I just checked, Jfisher, your files are WAV, I require WMV. I think its best we do this exactly as it happened with Mr Roberts and Mr Bulger.

As flaccon seems to be having trouble quoting, this is post #2701:

So the spirits are going to save the world by saying the word "robin?" How does this save the world?

My guess, flaccon, is that Biscuit is asking this because he wants to know the answer. It is, after all, a very good question. I also cannot see how spirits who are as rude, arrogant, ignorant and incoherent as the ones you think are communicating with you can help anyone at all.

Why does it need to be video? And an extremely compressed codec at that? If it has to be video then FLAC would be better as it is a lossless compression meaning that no information is stripped away.

Pixel, what makes you think I have not asked? I even asked if they could move objects and they replied "moving things is stupid, don't be desparate" Stop assuming my moves, I am trying here.

If that's their response to such perfectly reasonable questions then give up, stop making recordings and get on with your life. They are not worth another second of your time.

If I was in communication with people that were that disrespectful to me and made me look like a a nutcase with their constant demands and changing of minds, I'd tell them to sling their hook. Well I wouldn't actually but we're not allowed to use naughty words on JREF, but needless to say the air would be very blue!

then ask him/her to work it out for himself if he/she think it makes sense. I did not say this. How can saying a name possibly change the world? pathetic. No point in me hanging around this wifi hot spot wasting my time with such trivia.

Why does it need to be video? ...

I'd like to know this as well.

flaccon, have you established that .wmv is better than .wav? And if so, how?
Making recordings the same way as you did before does not answer that question, thanks.

Go ahead and state a claim and then write out the protocol as you think it should be done. We can negotiate it from there. Do this here or in the other thread created for said purpose. All we need to get started is a claim and a first draft protocol from you, nothing else.

Sounds easy ;)

Both you and scrappy have suggested that the spirits are going to save the world, or words to that effect. Asking how they propose to do that when all they seem capable of doing is making people think they hear words like 'Robin' in recordings (and Biscuit was referring to the latest recording, as described by scrappy, he didn't make the example up) is a perfectly legitimate question.

Welcome back.

Please note that the fine folks here are trying to help you. Our explanations to you referring to technical issues with your computer, pareidolia and imaginative interpretation are all based on strong science and grounded in reality. You, on the other hand, have nothing but stories which don’t stand up to any scrutiny.

So far, you have formulated very few actual claims other than that you hear spirits and can recognize some of them. When you did make further claims, like “the spirits can hear”, “the spirits can see”, you then backtracked and said it wasn’t so. I can’t say you have been very honest with us. I hope you realize how much your claims change from one day to the next.

As far as I know, you are the one doing all the lying. Your shills, who evidently can’t string a few words together and make any sort of sense, are the only people who ever hear anything in your nonsensical “recordings”

I do not believe one bit that anyone has heard the same sentences you hear. No one here can, but Roberts and Bulger can... Sure buddy!

You offer no evidence for any of your claims. My stance on your experience is simple. You can choose to learn from your experience, accept that the events in your life are not due to demons and spirits, and move along; or you can go on playing make-believe with your inarticulate friends.

But you will need more than words to convince anyone here that you are honest, straightforward and willing to learn anything. The skeptics here were ready to accept a new reality, if you could demonstrate the veracity of your claims. You have failed. None of your recordings show anything special, let alone supernatural.

Face it, it’s time for you to consider accepting the difficult challenges you had to face in your life. Your father will not speak to you through electronic defects. You will not help anyone connect with spirits, although you could convince a few uninformed individuals to play along.

Playing the victim and accusing Alderbank of being dishonest will not help your situation. This thread is alive because it is interesting and intensely dramatic, but people will not go on forever trying to help you unless you start being honest yourself.

Is the him/her meant to be me who asked the question or scrappy who made the claim that the spirits are here to save the world from blowing itself to bits?

If its me then the answer is a resounding "no, it's makes no sense." It does add more weight to the explanation that its all just pareidolia.

If its scrappy is he speaking out of turn as to the spirits desires? Have you heard the spirits make this claim?

It's a perfectly valid question. You and you alone claim that your spirits want to save the world. You and you alone present as evidence, a recording of the single word "Robin", which no-one else can hear.
