The state of FL v. George Zimmerman

Not according to any evidence thus far.

Your link doesn't work for me. I don't have a Twitter account, nor do I know if that is her actual account you linked to.

It's her account, with her picture. With zero tweets, just like she said.

And it clearly shows she's following RJ. If you doubt my word, sign up for a damn account and see for yourself.

West: "He decided to approach this man and say why you following me?"
#RachelJeantel: "yes sir."

Anyone can make a Twitter account in whatever name they want. Your post isn't evidence.

NP. It's all about the word "confront" ;)

She said he was going to go "argue" with the man. She and West had a dialogue about that, and that led to her saying he was not going to go up and just beat him, that would be "retarded". But she did agree TM confronted GZ to find out why GZ was following him.

Jesus Christ himself posts on twitter ;). There are countless impersonators on Twitter. I'm not saying that's the case with whatever account is being linked to here, I guess we'll have to see more.

One thing is did BDLR call her as a prosecution witness? With the Twitter info in his back pocket, and then decide to try to impeach her with it once her testimony didn't go as he wanted? I'm not sure I get the strategy here.

FWIW the commentators on the streaming site I am watching say BDLR should thank the skies his Twitter exchange took place without the jury there, so they seem to think he screwed up there.

The star witness:
During cross examination today, Jeantel also testified that when she was interviewed under oath on April 2 by prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda she was sitting next to Trayvon Martin's mother and that influenced what she told the prosecutor.

"You certainly didn't want to say anything that you thought would hurt her feelings or make her grieve even worse," asked West.

"Yes sir," she responded.

"So because of that you were sensitive to (Martin's mother) Mrs. Fulton's feelings when you answered Mr. De la Rionda questions."

"Yes sir," she replied.

"And that's why you cleaned up some of the language that Trayvon Martin used?" West asked.

"Yes sir," she responded.

During nearly two hours of cross examination Wednesday in which he tried to raise questions about her version of events and accused her of telling several lies under oath, including about her whereabouts during Martin's wake.

"Under oath, you created a lie and said you went to the hospital?" asked West.

"Yes," responded Jeantel. She said she lied because she didn't want to see the body.

Jeantel became increasingly agitated and scoffed when West told her that she would have to continue testifying.

She's been a disaster for the prosecution. The hilited bit is almost unbelievable. :boggled:

It's not over yet, because they can just go verify it. She's subject to recall.

I agree, but it was funny she got him agree she wasn't following him. Someone will clue them both in, and the next discussion about it should be amusing as well.

Why would Twitter suggest she follow someone she was already following? Maybe that's the way it works, but it seems odd to me.

I think they pulled up jenna_lauer/following from their own account, so the "Follow" recommendation was for their account, not Lauer's.

I guess the state just got their own witness to perjure herself...

THe who to follow suggestions are on the left. Below is part of the list of who she is following, including rz:

I think she convinced him the "follow" next to his name ( which is so I could follow him by clicking it ) meant she was not following him, even though she is :)

Kind of surprising she denied it... how long did she think she'd be able to pull that off?

I don't have the exact transcript, but I think she said something like, "He's following me, I'm not following him."

Hard to know if she is lying but she has NO tweets. I don't know if she knows how it works either! But clearly those screenshots for that account shows that she IS, or at least the account, is following him.

I see now what you're talking about. But I can also see how it would be easy to accidentally hit one of those "who to follow" buttons, I click on ads and crap accidentally all the time. Is there confirmation required when you click the "follow" button, or is it a one-click process? Does Twitter log account activity?

Finally! A small victory for the state. Against their own witness no less! This trial is going great!

Both, meaning it's one click, there is no pop-up, but the button changes state to "following".

I don't know what Twitter tracks internally, but AFAIK there is no way to see what day you chose to follow someone, just that you are following them.
