Biblical Flood? Fish, squid, and shrimp fossils in the mountains of Lebanon and Peru

Good Point. An example of their concept of the world is in Acts Chapter 2: verse 5 where it says:

"Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven."

Obviously the author of that area wasn't talking about places like Japan and Korea and New Zealand because he didn't even know those places existed. He was taking about every nation that they knew of.

Couldn't Noah have just walked/ridden out of the area in the time he used to build a massive boat?

Exactly.
The bible is full of stories that are wrong.

At that time no human beings lived in New Zealand, so we can forgive God or Luke or whoever wrote Acts for not mentioning this "nation".

Indeed.

And they'd probably heard of China, but chose to ignore it since it would have blown their story, same as the Sumerians would had done in Chapter One.

Ouch.

...about that chronology...?

We're not talking about the NT. We're talking about the account of the flood in Genesis. The flood that covered "all the high hills" and "the mountains", and killed "all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man".

Exactly.

DOC, take your New Testament drivel back to one of the many threads on that subject that you've abandoned for one reason or another.

So you're saying that the biblical flood obviously didn't happen?

So God was only mad at the locals? You keep slithering between "global" and "local" when you need to.

Is DOC about to theorize that the flood was local to the Middle East, and that YHWH was only mad at those guys? Because New Zealand and Hawaii didn't have people yet doesn't exclude North America, for example, but I'm pretty sure that North America is "under heaven" despite having lousy cellphone coverage. Weird.

Lo and behold:
There's lamb's wool under my naked feet
The wall is soft and warm, gives off some kind of heat
A salamander scurries into flames to be destroyed.
Imaginary creatures are trapped - in celluloid.

First good Genesis reference in the thread!

Visions of angels all around
Dance in the sky
Leaving me here
Forever, goodbye.

Jesus wasn't a fairytale. He was a famous historical person if we are to believe Bart Ehrman who said Jesus certainly existed. And he was a famous historical person whose grave is empty and whose body has never been found.

This has the tone of a whiny four year old...........
Nether Ehrman, yourself nor any other god botherer can actually provide evidence fro the existence of a Historical Jesus.
Exactly.

He's evading. Again.

Hey, its even worse.
See the almighty, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent and ever loving god drowned every single living thin on Earth because those folks at the Middle East were having sex, so it seems, in ways that displeased him...

But before and after the flood, entire civilizations realized human sacrifices to please other gods, including the slaughter of countless toddlers. Before and after the flood entire civilizations engaged in religious wars, dedicated to this or that god. Before and after the flood, entire civilizations adopted cruel practices like slavery and repression to this or that ethnic group. Before and after the flood, entire civilizations had sexual habits which would enrage YHWH. Before and after the flood, entire civilizations worshipped other gods.

What sort of twisted moral YHWH must have! Its a maniac, its a monster, its an obssessive psychopath! Same is valid for those who believe its al right.

Other than the physical problems of the flood there's the problem that it didn't do what god set out to do that is remove evil from the world. In fact, if the flood had removed evil it would have also removed any need for Jesus so god must have known before he drowned all but eight that is was a futile effort.

So the bible is not literally true. We know this. It's good you recognize this.
