Merged Boston Marathon CTs

Ugh... debunking this one on another board...

Very galling, Exhibit A for the "fake victims" crowd... falling into similar logic faults as the moon hoaxers.

"There is NO reason for the flag to flutter like that in space - ONLy explanation is a fake!"
"This 'supposed' victim has a wound on her leg, but her sock looks too clean - ONLY explanation is a fake!"

Could only last a few minutes I'm not sure how much worse it can get after that low bar!

And yes, I still stand by my earlier posts on guys this being misguided instead of consciously evil, as much as I want to smack him!!

Over on clueless forum there was a flag argument. I am paraphrasing but basically a poster was declaring fake because 1 of the flags was clearly blowing in a different direction than all the other flags lining the very end of the race. The flag he was referring to was attached vertically off a building in the background on the opposite side of the street. The rest of the flags were all mounted horizontal....

A buddy of mine posted this. I feel like it's my civic duty to spread it around.

Wake up, sheeple! The Boston Bombing is obviously a conspiracy perpetrates by... Alex Jones! Just look at the facts:
1. America is awesome. We're loved abroad and have no enemies who would commit such atrocities (excepting some reptilians, of course)
2. Alex Jones' web site has benefited tremendously in the wake of the tragedy, generating 6000% more video clip links on YouTube!
3. Who benefits from legless people being stuck at home on computers instead of being able to walk freely? Internet content providers... Like Alex Jones!
4. If the gov't had been smart enough to plan this, they could've stopped Alex Jones! Flawless logic.
5. Who would have extra pressure cookers lying around? Someone fat... Like Alex Jones! (See also, hatred of fit joggers)
6. Who was instantly prepared to point blaming fat fingers minutes after the tragedy? Alex Jones!
Don't let yer rights to continuous links to kitten videos be obliterated... Stop Alex Jones!

Conspiracy theorists always seem to know that an event is a false flag within seconds of the event happening. How is that possible, every single time, that they can know this, unless they are either in on it, or lying through their teeth calling everything a false flag no matter what.

No need to imagine them lying.

Confirmation bias offers a more plausible explanation.

This guy is obviously swiping crap from the Moon Hoaxers....

When someone proclaims "false flag" without knowing what flag they're calling false, it's reasonable to infer it's a meaningless knee-jerk response.

That's putting it mildly... what i'm watching is quite a bit more extreme than just confirmation bias.

Ha I think we're watching the same show, you're just a bit more worked up about the bad guys..;)

I'm very annoyed, pessimistic about the future and a host of other things too - I just think its a little too emotionally rewarding for me to indulge the worst thoughts about their motivations.

Especially when its an almost universal truth that individuals perceive their own actions as much more benignly motivated than might be indicated by the polling average of those they come across, or those who see their youtube comments! ;)

And it's all same-team disagreement here between you and I - only a matter of degree!

Just a little taste... Check out how warm and fuzzy this guy is,

We are on the same team, but i don't buy that these people aren't all just misguided good intentions... LOL

When a person lies or cheats or steals from you over and over it's normal to suspect them first. Same with governments.

Right but look at that litany of horrible crimes the jews have been covering up!

This is a man manning the barricades, sounding the alarm in the face of True Evil.

Its an exalted, noble and very self-aggrandizing place to be.

I know. I hate how I keep asking the government if they have any twos, and they say "go fish," yet, I am sure that they have a two. Those cheaters.

I see your explanations, but they are still not excuses.

I had a thought that is a little more charitable towards the C.T. crowd. It is possible some of them are being moved by empathy.

A horrible thing happened, people were hurt. One reaction is try to "make sense of it." This is the usual reason for coming up with elaborate plots; they more-or-less boil down to someone to blame. But another reaction is denial; that this many people weren't actually hurt, that the terrible stories aren't true.

And that explains the Sandy Hook effect; once the C.T. has fixed on denial, they are overwhelmed by anger at the people who tried to make them feel that empathy for what was only a pretended pain.

Or maybe the "conspiracy community" is actually composed primarily of pathologically insecure racists, Holocaust deniers, creationists, frustrated failures and a host of other assorted imbeciles attempting to compensate by inflating their egos with imaginary worlds of heroic bravery and brilliant deductions.

Either way...

LOL... exactly...

I don't think anyone here is accusing conspiracy theorists of being cackling villains twirling their mustaches. Yes, I'm sure conspiracy theorists think that they're justified. Almost everyone in the world who does something bad thinks that they're justified. But that doesn't mean that we can't take moral issues with people's behavior. And to me, the moral issue with conspiracy theorists is that it's essentially motivated by egotism. They may not realize this - in fact, I'm sure most of them don't - but regardless, at the end of the day, it's about them, not the actual tragedy. It's about them sitting at their computers talking about how clever they are and how stupid the sheeple they are in a giant online circle-jerk.
