This is an excellent example of Myers claiming one thing and doing another (he claims he doesn't ban people for simply disagreeing but for being trolls. Which is apparently another way of saying that he bans people who disagree with him.

Not only that, Peezus seems to be happily saying that the so-called "dog-piling" that goes on there is an integral and necessary part of FreeThoughtBullies. Maybe he thinks it helps in weeding out the trolls (at least, his version of what a troll is)? Thing is, there doesn't seem to be a lot of "IMO you are wrong and here's why." Just, "You are wrong. **** you. Banhammer. See how cool we all are?"

This is also the point where I wonder why people don't just still their tongues/fingers and pay attention for a while first, but maybe that's only a way to learn if you're inferior, and people who don't have any experience in not being the highly desired target audience just don't know how to be secondary in any way.

Oh, now you did it. You got me started browsing that site. Went to the thread "Justin Vacula here with debate challenge". It reminded me of why I've had only fleeting thoughts of participating over there. I have an explicit policy not to argue with the mentally ill.

First off, I saw the toadies waiting to find out what position the alphas took before piling on.

The ending is also interesting. Ceepolk's second to last post was, "Bored now," then she locked the thread. I assume moderators feel they have to read every post, so I'm concluding that entertaining the moderators is a requirement for A+ forum participation.

OMFSM now I'm starting to google and psychoanalyze ceepolk. It's easy to see she's prejudiced against white people and men. Check out her advice column on how to break up with a guy here.

What's really bad about A+ is that even when you are 301-level, dissent against the collective opinion of the Inner Party members STILL is basically banned. This was most recently clear with MrSamsa. Although he has yet to be physically rendered incapable from posting there, he was admonished for doing things he never did (with the "New Rules" adjusted to say he did) and instructed to basically stop being logically correct.

NONE of the people who made outrageous false accusations against him, all secret-forum-inspired dogpile-like, were reprimanded. Just him. Fancy that.

No, but one did get de-modded for being too sympathetic to the "out" (non-backchannel) crowd, and one apparently resigned for reasons I can only speculate are similar.

That rustled my jimmies as well. One of the things I appreciate about the mods here* is that, although they participate freely in conversation without much pretension of neutrality, I've never seen them put their Mod Hats on in a biased manner.

I was being just as gentle and kind as I know how, and still the thread got modlocked. Alas, it seems one must navigate between the Scylla of giving offense and Charybdis of boring the mods.

Well, sure, the whole thing is ten paragraphs long, and I picked the one that focused on the issues important to the context.

People both genders often do hateful things when they're dumped. It's human nature. Chances are she didn't share what she did to him. Being the victim was the point of her article. But, we're way off topic.

Sure, she was wronged by a man, but that suggests she might carry the grudge against other men not involved in damaging her "tools of feminine performance" and "luxury items."

She also admitted prioritizing "luxury items" over basics like healthy eating, and whined about losing them, which puts her SJ credentials in a curious light.
