Hello everyone!

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Michael. .. Couple years ago, a friend of mine whom I believe may be a member here, had mentioned JREF as being one of the only real judicious forums worth reviewing. Unfortunately, between all the complicities that had taken up my life at that time, most had kept me at the sidelines of everything from religion to politics, at least until recently. .. Anyways, it was a few weeks ago I happened to be pouring over the events that had unfolded during the 911 attacks on the World Trade Centers. Kind of my own little memorial of sorts to all the victims and those who have lost their loved ones. .. Well, i'm sure you's know all about those YouTube conspiracy flicks floating around, and to me, being a true realist, I got so caught up in all the BS, I really needed a breath of fresh air. Somewhere I can turn to where finding the truth is more important than the convoluted conspiracy ideaology that exists among so many facets of our lives. I tell ya's, conspiracies, at least to me, appear to be epidemic. .. So ok, I was going to slam one of them Youtube flicks (think it might have been "believe your own eyes!), when I found a post from a member here who finally made sense! Thankfully, whoever it was, posted a link here, otherwise, I may have gone insane!

Really, i've got one heck of alot of good reading to do. And even more to learn. What a wonderful website. .. Thanks for letting me join! .........:)

Hello, Michael and welcome. Take a deep breath and wade right in. Most of the crud you see on YouTube has been debunked ages ago, so you might want to read back through some older threads when the topics were still hot. There's also a good list of references available outside of these forums - many of the sites listed were created by people who are or were active members here.

But, for your own sanity, please try an experiment. Turn off the internet and go ask the people at your neighborhood store or pub or dry cleaner whether they think "Building 7 Fell in Free Fall". They'll look at you like you're from Mars. The 911 Conspiracy exists only on the internet. Turn off your computer and it disappears.

I believe there are probably some very legitimate questions left to be answered about intelligence failures and cya inter-agency politicking but the nuts with hologram planes and hush-a-boom explosives and space beams are really just the product of YouTube and tiny isolated communities of dedicated conspiradroids.

Sounds like "conspiratoids" may be quite similar to "asstroids"? .. Either way, for being so tiny, they sure do clutter up the landscape. Thanks for the advice. I now have a much better reason to use my computers on/off switch. ......:)

What a fabulous place this is! My real name is Kate but since my name on some art forums is Totalcolour, I decided to keep it - I don't always remember my real name anymore.

Right now, I'm about halfway through looking at all the TAM 2012 videos on Y-tube. Some really good stuff.

I'm looking forward to chatting here often - "God willing and the creek dont' rise" :D

Thank you Acleron. I saw under you sig line, about this wonderful universe. It really is too.

I watched that chap this morning do that amazing skydive - broke the sound barrier as well. It's amazing what we can do now, thanks to science and technology that nobody dreamed of a hundred years ago.

I know there are a lot of people who thought they would like to live in en earlier "SIMPLER" age, but I like this one just fine!
 
Helloooo dere. This is the biggest forum I've been on and I'm sure I can hear an echo in here, it's huge! It may take me some time to catch up on things but have already spotted one familiar subject that has run out of steam on smaller forums. Unfortunately I haven't. ;)

I'm another 'girl' from OZ.
Age: let's just say it's all downhill from here.
Reason I'm here: I'm skeptical by nature and thought I might blend in. Love 'verbal jousting' but strictly within the bounds of propriety, otherwise I'd be on Facebook. ;)
Politics: Normally Lite Rite but wavering at present.
Interests: Just about everything and anything for at least 5 minutes. But things Scientific, real and fiction, and lately, OZ politics or what passes for it now, are more long term.

Off now to indulge in soaking up some new viewpoints and opinions. :)

Funny re outnumbering the 'stanis. On an OZ forum we've been overrun by expat Poms so what goes around comes around eh? :)

They don't show up, so I must assume there is a moderation system for new posters. What is process for the approval of posts from new posters?

Hi inflector and welcome.

I searched for more posts from you but only this one turns up. Any chance it was a transmission glitch from your end? Sometimes the forum is very slow from the UK and it takes some time for it to sort out it's knickers and accept a post.

I don't think the posts are moderated unless the thread is. If you're posting on a very popular thread, your new post may appear many answers past the last point you read to, and you may reopen to a page or two before yours appears. Make sure you check all the way to the end.

Edit to add, I guess not this time, but for a perfect example of what I was talking about, you can see where I forgot to check a page after your post to see the response that preceded mine.
