Moderated Obama birth certificate CT / SSN CT / Birther discussion

The kicker? The same guy, Floyd Brown, wrote both articles!
It's interesting how all they had to do to make the second article "incriminating" was erase one key sentence from the first article.

But though Act 182 does provide children born out of state with a birth certificate it does not provide them with birth certificates that say that these children were born in Hawaii or at a specific location in Hawaii. Consequently these birth certificates cannot engender Certifications of Live Birth which state that the subject was born in Honolulu, as the purported Obama Certification of Live Birth does.
Wingnuts conflating a certificate stating you were born "somewhere" with a certificate stating you were born in Hawaii, predictable.

Birthers to O'bama " Can we see your Birth certificate?" , Obama "It's online for everybody" Birthers to the State of Hawaii "Can we see a certified copy of our Presidents birth certificate?" State of Hawaii "NO!"

However, Obama put it online for everybody, and here's a link to it right from the website of our state Department of Health."

Birthers "But a website or link isn't really a birth certificate." State of Hawaii "We're working on that."

Birthers "But a website or link isn't really a birth certificate." State of Hawaii "Tough. That's as close as you're legally entitled to ever get. And, really, you're not even legally entitled to that, Obama's just trying to humor you." Sane people: "What kind of crazy person do you have to be to think that the State of Hawaii saying 'this is a scanned image of Obama's 100%-real-as-issued-by-us birth certificate' is insufficient and that Obama has to show the actual certified original paper copy of his birth certificate to lunatic conspiracy theorists?"

What is worse is that a paper copy wouldn't work for them either, because long ago the goal posts were shifted to wanting the original microfiche copy. The entire role to be exact so that they can cross check everyone else on the role and harass them as well. Basically they want to State of Hawaii to violate a lot of people's medical privacy.

The recent news update didn't say that at all. When asked if the online certificate is what they authorized, they replied they had their own and didn't take responsibility as having any part of the online certificate release.

Because I found out about it on WND in the context of a conspiracy theory, I figured this was a good place to put it: http://obamalot.wordpress.com/2007/...he-april-1990-issue-of-the-harvard-law-revue/ A lot of these articles are worth reading for their amusement value alone, but the one I like the most is the Doers' Revue of Obama at the back, and the potted 'biography' of him towards the middle. Written, as it evidently was, by someone who knew him and probably liked him, it establishes his early personality a lot better than his own biography did, and also establishes his precise whereabouts in 1990, which I understand was a matter of concern to the conspiracy theorists at one point.

He was in Norway, visiting his mother, who was some sort of anthropologist. :P

Exactly! Thanks

No, seriously; what's your point? It's true that a scanned image of, say, my driver's license wouldn't be an acceptable substitute for my actual driver's license in any situation that legally requires me to present my driver's license, but there's no legal requirement for Obama to present his actual birth certificate to birthers.

What makes you believe any differently?

I say again, the State of Hawaii bears no reponsibility of the online birth certificate. They don't recognize it at all.

Except that they do... by linking to it. Do you honestly believe that they would willfully link to it otherwise?
