Police Video of Zimmerman Shows no Sign of Scuffle

About 2:45, Gutman claims the video came through official channels:

As documented quite nicely by another website, this isn't an official copy - it's a video recording of a playback device.

And why do the police provide a video of a monitor where the video is being played, instead of the actual video?

Why is someone taking video of the monitor displaying the video, anyway?

Well, if you believe in CT's, the one important thing you really can't see in that version is GZ's injuries. So then you go to the idea that whoever took the video intended for it to appear as if GZ was uninjured. But who knows?

Was the footage of the monitor taken as GZ came in the first time? Or was it taken later when someone played back the video? If the former, it had to be someone with SPD, I'd think.

Were any members of the Martin legal team allowed to view the CCTV footage? I have no idea.

I don't know exactly what went on with the release of that video of a monitor, but it seems odd to me. Hopefully it's origin will be explained, and in the interest of fairness, I hope it's origins are benign.

lol. A couple months ago I was derided when I said 'maybe Zimmerman's wife took care of his injuries." and noted she was a nursing student.

Just saw this : "My wife is an Rn student, so she went to work. Good to keep her busy, I guess." -Zimmerman, during the reenactment video, when asked about his injuries.

ha!

But Serino moves from lead detective on the biggest case in SPD history to overnight partol duty for??? Luckily, this particular feline has escaped its cylindrical storage device. Serino was also the detective that interviewed DeeDee, so I suspect MOM will make some inquiries of his own.

“It’s not a demotion,” Sanford Police spokesman Sgt. David Morgenstern said of Serino, 45, who has been with the department for 15 years. “There isn’t any more prestige in being a detective. We have officers who love uniform patrol. This was of his own free will.”

ha!

Yeah, how odd. Husband comes home with wounds, wife treats them.

What a tough guess. :)

Hey, if GZ is convicted of murder 2, maybe they can get SZ for aiding and abetting, for those finger care band aids...

SZ was clearly trying to make GZ's injuries look worse...

Why are you asking people here to defend the opinion of a Tribune article??
It's not the opinion of the Tribune reporter, it's what Serino claimed.

Weren't you one who was a stickler for following NW guidelines before? Do NW guidelines say you should question a suspicious person?

eta: and doesn't questioning fit your bizarre definition of "getting physical" with the suspicious person?

You posted this as if it's new. I merely corrected you. Serino was pointing out that George acted recklessly, and did not avail hiself of opportunities to avoid violence, which is why he pushed for manslaughter. Corey is taking it further, IMO because George was so untruthful.
You're another person who was a stickler for following NW guidelines. What do they say about questioning suspicious people?

I am?

I can't believe they expected GZ to introduce himself at a time when GZ claims TM is coming towards him in a threatening manner. Twice.

Plus, he wasn't supposed to get out of the vehicle, according to Serino. I guess GZ was expected to yell out the window as TM came towards his vehicle.

Then, I can't believe NW procedure is to approach and address a suspicious person.

Eh...maybe it's just me.

Anyway, it seems that the security camera we'd all like to see footage from, was not working that night.

Ha ?

You were called out for implying his wife broke his nose for him, and now you want to re-write history ? How dishonest can you be ?

But go ahead, spin a story how that's not what you meant ....

Which is my entire point.

I'm not sure it's "nit picking" to argue that his injuries are not consistent with the severity of the assault Zimmerman supposedly suffered.

Would you break your own nose if you thought it would help you avoid 25 years in prison?

There are likely many people who would.

His wife is a nursing student, is she not?

Maybe she took care of his injuries the next day.

(The italics for took care are in the original post.)

I have some advice for you. Not all strangers in your neighborhood are "suspicious persons". As someone else noted, had Trayvon been a 30 year old white woman, there's little doubt George would NOT have called the cops. Had he been a 50 year old white woman, George would have likely asked "are you lost? can I help you out?"

My neighborhood ends in a wilderness kind of park (common in Portland). Kids like to go drink down there and occasionally there are break ins. I have no problem talking to the kids I see there and reminding them to clean up the beer cans. I never strap on a gun or go following them around.

I don't think my approach is unreasonable at all, but I know people are different, so I wouldn't say it was required to talk to the person. However, if you choose to call the cops and choose to NOT talk to the person, don't get out of your damn car with a gun and chase them!

-------------------------------

On a side note, which camera are you referring to and why would it help us?

I know what the hell I meant, and I and the others know the context and you will not find one post from me saying his wife caused the injuries. I know I made other posts where I said I thought his wife treated him.

I noted she was a nursing student even before that. You didn't even know she was. When I said it, you mocked me, called her a cosmetologist, saying "same thing."

- and this was AFTER the bond hearing, where she stated clearly for all to hear: she was a nursing student.

90% of your conclusions and observations, imo, are always wrong - so it's good to see you working to keep that average up.

No, but it may make Serino more or less credible, as a reflection of how well he did his job ? Is leaking to the media in his job description ? Or does that reflect a possible agenda ?

I don't really see it as an agenda. Possibly prosecutorial misconduct?

Wow, those people over at Talkleft are taking the hyperbole to extremes. They honestly think that if Det. Serino leaked info to the press about the case - info in the form of documents or video - that this will become a feature of the defense? They are seriously comparing this to Mark Fuhrman?

The best one:

...local news reports yesterday from Orlando (Central Florida News 13) had it that the costs to the city of Sanford related to George Zimmerman are at about $400,000.

As if the trial of a man who shot an unarmed teenager should be dropped because of money? What is wrong with those people?

what I find interesting is that many of the same people who insist that Martin was suspicious because he walked towards Zimmerman's car, or because he was looking at houses, also asserted that Martin was crazy to find Zimmerman suspicious when he parked his car in the road, stared at him intently, and then jumped out of his car and ran after him when he tried to run away. As I recall, "it's not illegal to get out of your car/follow someone" was the common refrain. The fact that walking around and looking about is also perfectly legal was not explored.

Well, duh!

But the point that we're trying to make, is that if you do get out of your car to chase someone who you have not witnessed doing anything wrong but "looking suspicious", then the least you can do is let them know who you are and defuse the situation. It's such basic common sense that I don't know why it's controversial.

Prosecutorial misconduct? Aren't there indications DeeDee was trying to keep to a script?
