If you don't use Twitter at all, this won't be all that interesting. Thank you, nothing to see here, move along.
For those of you who DO use Twitter, check out the page I created for TAM 2012 on a (relatively) new service called Lanyrd:
http://lanyrd.com/2012/tam2012/
Lanyrd is a social conference directory built as an adjunct to Twitter. The idea is it lets the attendees crowdsource the best information about a conference on a free site and share it. It includes lists of staff, guests and attendees, the schedule and aggregation of coverage about the event.
A few of key features that should be handy:
* Everything you need to live-Tweet the event is right there including the hashtag and the Twitter handles of all the speakers
* Mark that you are attending and your Twitter followers who also use Lanyrd will get a notification of that
* At past TAMs we've had to create special calendars to list third-party events like meetups, on Lanyrd we can put these right on the schedule all in one place
* Lanyrd provides another way (besides this forum) to aggregate links to photos, videos and blogs about the show.
I'll have a blog post up on skeptools tomorrow with more details. I've also entered the other 2012 skeptic events on Lanyrd, you can see them all here:
