Don't expect everyone to believe it, though. After all, you said it was anecdotal, and Anecdotes Are Not Evidence (AANE).

Altered consciousness can also be achieved much more quickly by ingesting mystic substances such as Salvia divinorum, popular with Mazatec shamans.
It can also be the achieved through meditation, LSD, sleep deprivation, illness, standing on your head, oxygen deprivation... etc. Anything, really.
Why do you keep calling them higher states of consciousness? How can you be sure that they're not actually lower states of consciousness, or equal alternate states of consciousness, or dream-like states of semi-consciousness?

Limbo, can you explain to us a method for telling the difference between a true mystic/god/buddha and a fraud who pretends to be a mystic/god/buddha in order to get attention/admiration/power/money or some other self serving thing?
Hmm. I'll give it some thought.
I think you have yet to achieve a full kundalini awakening. How good is your physical condition?
My physical condition is great, actually.
No I have not experienced a full kundalini awakening. I used to think I had experienced a partial one, though. Long story. As I have said multiple times, I am skeptical of those things now, but if you think kundalini awakening is the key, how do I do it?
I am happy to work on it (depending on what's involved and how time consuming) and report back to the thread on my progress, etc. What the heck, it's a thread about anecdotes anyway.
Limbo,
Have you found what you're looking for?
It's not so simple. The individuation process is life-long. I've found things but they lead to other things.
It's not like finding an object or a lifestyle or a like-minded community or finding a comfortable paradigm and settling in. It's like becoming something else. It's LITERALLY a transformation of your very being. Then a whole new vista opens up. Whole new levels of reality to explore, whole new states of BEING.
Yes indeed a full kundalini awakening is the key.
But how. There are ways but which is right for you? Hard to say at this point. I think that the first step would be for you to read the Living Deeply book and in the meantime for you to try to cultivate a 'relationship' with your kundalini. You probably won't be able to achieve a full kundalini awakening without her help. Or perhaps it would be more appropriate to say that she won't be able to do it without your help. Maybe you just need to get out of her way.
"She?"
I always understood kundalini to be like a type of energy that is stored in the root chakra and when all circumstances align properly, for example through proper use of yoga, surges up the spine to the crown chakra, thus leading to a spiritual awakening of some sort. Are we not talking about the same thing?
To me, this is like telling someone to establish a relationship with their foot.
Except that the foot is at least tangible and easy to be located.
No disrespect intended.
Maybe this is part of your problem.
Your foot is not autonomous.
Your kundalini is.
It can rise up on its own, it or it can balk your efforts to induce it. Whatever it really is, you can't control it. You it's not a matter of controlling it and forcing it up your chakras. It's a matter of letting go and preparing for the rigors of containing that kind of energy in your body and mind.
Your ego-self must have a correct posture toward your kundalini. And in my experience, it isn't like that of your posture toward your foot.

I'll take that as a convoluted "no". Better than I expected-- Some day you may realize that you don't know any more about the mysteries of existence or the nature of the universe than the next guy. When you do, I hope that you'll be okay with it. You don't have to be a god, Limbo. You don't have to be a superior being of any kind. Just enjoy the ride, learn what you can, and become okay with saying "I don't know" instead of making stuff up. Again, lay off the hallucinogens. The universe is mysterious enough as it is, and there is plenty to be learned.![]()

Thank you for your well-wishes.![]()
I'm sure I've seen that somewhere...
An encapsulation of what is also now known as the Dunning-Kruger effect. (There's a variant quoted on that wikipedia page: "One of the painful things about our time is that those who feel certainty are stupid, and those with any imagination and understanding are filled with doubt and indecision", and a version from Charles Darwin, "ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge".)

Incorrect good sir. Well, let me qualify that by saying that people on this website have not said that what you have experienced is impossible; they do, however, question the conclusions you draw from those experiences.People with mundane belief-systems tell me that the things I have experienced are impossible. So then I rule their belief-system out.
