I wonder how his interview went this afternoon?

Was it really this afternoon?
Good grief, such a busy social calendar what with all the Judges, Lawyers, Legal-Teams et al who he must have discussions with every day.

/Disclaimer: This post is made of elephant tusks. Tusk-Security is the future. ... gotta dash again, the postman has just popped three securities through my security. Lol, cheeky blighter, he's drawn a rude object on my security. What a geezer. If only he knew how offended I feel that he touched my security.

ETA: Show me where I am lawfully obliged to ETA!

Actually if he just recites his 'stump' stuff to someone who doesn't question it - he might do well. If however she has done some homework and questions him - it might get dicey. We shall see

I imagine that, if Ms. Arsenault chooses to air a FOTL story, she will interview a number of people, including a lawyer or two, perhaps a member of the RCMP, etc. Those people will no doubt provide a rather devastating assessment of the merit of Mr. Menard's "FOTL claims".

CBC's The National is one of the biggest news shows we have in Canada. The notion that they'll do a puff piece on Menard is just as laughable as all his other notions.

If there's any truth to his claims about this interview, he's not going to come off looking well.

All I can confirm is Lysanne Louter became aware of him posting her e-mail here and on the WFS website ;)

Yes, after posting that, I got a message from An Anonymous Benefactor saying something similar.

On the plus side, this means that Menard probably isn't a conman. A real conman wouldn't be so deluded as to think The National would be friendly to him.

So, Clown it is, then.

Perhaps we should have a little wager or maybe do a Poll! ?

a/ It was all lies anyway, there was never a genuine chance of an interview.

I don't think they will do anything to distort what is going on. If this airs I would imagine the story will be about freeman, rather than a discussion of their claims. I would imagine there will be comments about freemen from lawyers or the police, but I can't see the National getting into a discussion about the merits of the claims. It is pretty much taken as a given by reasonable people that their claims are bogus. The interesting thing is why these people do what they do, how it impacts their lives, etc.

I would compare it to stories about bigfoot researches for example. You aren't going to see a bunch of biologists in the story explaining why they think bigfoot is a myth. That is taken as a given by any reasonable people. The interest is in seeing the lives of these true believers and hearing their wacky views.

Just like the bigfoot person, Menard will have some answer to whatever objections are presented. So I would guess that he will come out of it thinking it went great, and if it airs he will probably think it went great as well. Most people are amused at the comedy of the situation, while the true believers think it's great their story is finally being told to a larger audience.

Well, I agree with Jlord it's less likely that there will be a step by step debunking of FOTL if the focus of the story is on the Freemen themselves. However, we do not know what the focus of the story will be (if CBC actually airs it, even though they apparently did an interview it might not survive the cutting room floor). We simply don't know what directly the CBC is thinking of taking with this. It could be an examination of "paper terrorism" and the courts, where it might be more likely to have RCMP officers and crown attorneys complain that the claims are bogus and a burden and a danger to law enforcement and the courts. It's very unlikely, even if Rob reports as truthfully as he claims he is, that we will have an accurate impression of how the story will be presented if it airs, since he will only have the questions presented to him as a guide.

Agreed, all they need to do is ask Menard the right questions and he will do all the debunking on his own.
There are a few angles they could take, theres the taking of money for duff legal advice or the encouragement of filing erroneous and nonsensical paper terrorism documents and finally the dangers sovereign citizens and their likelihood of harming police officers.

Maybe they have selected Menard to interview because he seems to be an advocate of all three.

I for one wish Rob all the best. I look forward to him becoming a well know figure and appearing on mainstream news outlets offering his perspective. Imagine how happy we'll all be at being exposed to his teachings; how joyous it will be watching the courts crumble and law and order breaking down. Ever since i was a boy i've wanted it to be like Mad Max, well it could be a reality. Obviously when handing out the roles Rob will be Mad Max but i don't mind being Tina Turner (i've the legs for it see). Imagine his souped up personal conveyance with go faster spoiler and loud hi fi blasting out Simply The Best. Finally we'll be free do do exactly what we want without the man trying to stop us;we'll be able to smoke pot and drink and drive and er......well......er....um.. you know all the things we can't do now because of the man. Bring it on or as Mad Max Mel Gibson shouted in Braveheart, FREEDOM!
