Actually, the question should be does hiring illegals drive down wages, benefits, and working conditions?
Well think about what wages, benefits and working conditions are in the jobs that illegals do, pretty lousy, right? You don't see that (as much) in jobs that don't hire illegals. We are always going to have illegal workers, and it's not always bad (if you're moving I don't see the harm of getting a few guys from the Home Depot parking lot), but the larger issue is folks unwilling to pay more for say strawberries in order to give citizens a living wage.
