Well think about what wages, benefits and working conditions are in the jobs that illegals do, pretty lousy, right? You don't see that (as much) in jobs that don't hire illegals. We are always going to have illegal workers, and it's not always bad (if you're moving I don't see the harm of getting a few guys from the Home Depot parking lot), but the larger issue is folks unwilling to pay more for say strawberries in order to give citizens a living wage.

Which is largely a myth, the wages of the pickers accounts for only a tiny percentage of the cost of fresh fruits and vegetables. Like 2-4%.

Far more costly expenses are the cost of transporting it to market and spoilage. You could double the wages of the pickers and consumers would barely notice amidst the noise of seasonal price variations. The $5 head of lettuce is a myth.

It's very easy to be calm when your side is inflicting rather than receiving the violence. The protesters' reactions were like a meditating zen Buddhist monk compared to how the officers would have reacted to a similar attack on themselves.

Moreover, when protestors seek out confrontation for the sake of their cause, they need not act so scandalized when they get it. It's disingenuous.

When the police go to a protest and "seek out confrontation for the sake of their cause", would it be "disingenuous" to object to violence inflicted on them?

That's something I don't understand either. What's more, I can't understand enjoying watching people or justifying people being killed.

Well think about the jobs that illegals do: construction, cleaning, farming, food preparation. These are not well paid jobs. In addition, illegals often work in very bad and dangerous conditions.
 
Wow, could you post more boring videos of people walking to their cars please?

If you have videos of people walking their dogs or brushing their teeth that would be nice as well, we need more of those.

Wow! I did the exact same thing last night! So any evidence that she ordered or even knew about the pepper spraying, or is this just another case of demanding "bad people" be thrown into jail because they are "bad"?

I watched the lead up to that moment live (Oh the wonders of the interwebs!) For hours the students has surrounded the chancellor's building, asking that Chancellor Katehi explain why the students were pepper-sprayed. They were not aggressive but as the crowds grew, there was some goofing off, a few mic-check'd calls for resignation and a on off-key version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Reports (unsubstantiated) went out that Katehi was afraid to leave.

The student's response was to immediately initiate a mic check explaining that they were there in peace, that they would not harm Katehi, and would not harm any private property. Word went out that Katehi would be walking to her car. Another round of discussion ended when a voice in the crowd proposed that all students sit and stay quiet to show "That we are the peaceful ones!"

2 minutes later Katehi walked in dead silence past hundreds of students seated silently to either side of her. It was surreal and quite beautiful.

If Occupy footage is being shown in historical context, that will be one of the moments.
