Australian Federal Election 2010

LOL
How desperate is a government trying to blame this on an opposition leader. The level of stupid involved here is epic and how contemptible that they might even think the public could buy their lies.

Incredible!

The Opposition Leader faced a hostile Question Time in which the Government accused him of complicity in the Qantas strategy and turned the issue into a debate on who best would look after workers and jobs.

Mr Abbott told Parliament that on Saturday his office had been told of the Qantas action at about 4.15pm (AEDT) and he heard about it just before 5pm.

"Let me reiterate, the first I heard about it was at about a quarter to five on Saturday afternoon," he told Parliament.

Like the baseless rumour you have provided here that innocent refugees were returned to their country of origin and killed? That was one I didn't believe either.

What should we do with non genuine refugees.

No evidence there, if there was you could show us they were innocent.

Tell me, why were those refugees sent back?
What evidence have you they were not criminals of some description?
What should we do with non genuine refugees?

Maybe you could answer another question, given your aversion to providing your own opinion on the final question: What would the Greens do with non genuine refugees?

Meanwhile Gillards ineptitudes cost more lives.

Six asylum seekers including one child have drowned after their boat sank off the west coast of Java in Indonesian waters, Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor says.
Mr O'Connor says that 46 people have been rescued but approximately 20 people remain missing after the "awful tragedy".
He says it is a reasonable conclusion to draw that the vessel was bound for Australia.
"[It] underscores the absolute dire need to put in the strongest possible deterrent," he said.
"We have seen too many people lured onto unseaworthy vessels.

And the minister even acknowledges the pull (lure) factors.

Gillard had a choice: the Greens policy or the coalition policy. She chose the former, more people are dead.

Worst PM ever.

Haha. Only Alfie could blame an accident that occurred in Indonesian waters personally on Gillard.

Her own minister has said they are lured here by the current policies.

A quick precis of events:

The boats had stopped under Howard
Rudd dismantled the PS with Gillard's approval and assistance
The boats started coming again
Gillard knifed Rudd because he had lost his way
The boats kept coming
Gillard said she would stop them
People died on the rocks
Gillard then flip flopped on Labor core values
The boats kept coming
Her idiotic solutions failed at every turn (Timor, Malaysia)
The boats stalled
She had a choice - accept Abbotts compromise or go with the Greens, she took the latter
The boats started again
More people are dead

How does she not bear some responsibility for this?

The only thing missing at the moment is for her to blame Abbott for her outstanding levels of incompetence and inept leadership, which I predict will come tomorrow

Worst PM ever.

Gillard never made them leave their own country. War did. Without that war, they would not be leaving. This was a war we started, and have screwed up. Now people are leaving Pakistan, because the war in Afghanistan is destabilising that country as well.

This sounds like we are getting closer to the truth.

Senior opposition frontbencher Joe Hockey says Qantas told him in a private meeting that it was considering grounding its fleet, well before the airline took the drastic action on the weekend.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard pursued Tony Abbott on Tuesday over whether he was forewarned of the flying kangaroo's possible decision after the opposition leader refused to answer questions on the issue.
Now Mr Hockey has confirmed Qantas told him a grounding of the fleet was on the cards.

He was asked on ABC TV when he had first heard from Qantas that it was considering grounding its fleet or locking out workers.
"(Qantas has) been saying it around parliament house for the last few weeks," Mr Hockey replied.
"They've been saying it privately and publicly around parliament house for weeks."
Pressed on when he first heard it himself, Mr Hockey said: "I can't recall".
However, asked if he'd heard it personally in a meeting from a Qantas representative he confirmed, "Yeah sure, as did others.

And this is what Joyce is really on about.

QANTAS chief executive Alan Joyce didn't ground planes because he loves Qantas and wants to save it. He wants to kill it.
This Irish CEO is on a 'roo shoot.
Do you agree? Blog with Susie all day at The Big O
He wants Qantas with its expensive long-serving staff and inflexible work practices gone. He would prefer us all to be flying Jetstar, or any one of the other non-Qantas branded airlines being set up by the Qantas group.
These are airlines that take Australian jobs overseas.
They're cheaper to run and have higher profit margins than Qantas-branded routes.
In the process of engineering a solution to this ongoing crisis, Joyce has done incredible damage to our nation's reputation.

The share price has bottomed, the Government should just nationalise qantas again.

What should we do with non genuine refugees.

Simple question, why can't you simply man up and answer?

Alfie.
Why don't you man up and answer my question that I asked you many weeks ago.
That is, "where is your evidence that Julia Gillard lied to the public over a carbon tax during the last Federal elections".
You could not answer that and just said some stupid one word answer.
So Alfie don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

"There will be no carbon tax under the government I lead".

This is either a lie or about the biggest broken promise in Australia's political history.

You choose which you prefer. I call it a lie.

What would you do about the non genuine refugees?

Well, to use your standards of evidence none of this counts because you're listing correlations, which as we know does not imply causation.
