I'm thinking Mr Fology's repeated misunderstanding of the status quo, his confusion about which group of people constitutes 'we' and 'us' and his unassailable delusion that he's the champion of the hoi polloi should be referred to collectively as the Kemo Sabe fallacy.

I always wonder about this claim. The government is lying EXCEPT when documents state things like "UFOs are real" (as in the Twining memo). It is a double standard. If you want to selectively accept when the government is lying and when it is telling the truth, you are going accept only that which supports your beliefs. Instead of looking at the evidence objectively, you have decided before hand what evidence you will accept (for the reality of UFOS being alien spaceships but nothing against that reality).
 
This kind of hypocrisy seems to be a constant with saucer-shovelers. We have constant allegations of a NASA cover-up on the one hand and selective NASA footage on the other that supposedly shows alien craft. The recently mentioned McClelland's NASA resume suddenly makes his 9-ft. tall tale (pun intended ;)) credible to some. The USAF is another frequent 'have it both ways' example. The flyboys go from constant ufological foil (cover-ups) to an appeal to authority (the Disclosure Project as an example) at the drop of a hat.

Aside to Akhenaten: Regarding fairy tails and Rule 2, I feel your pain. ;)

Yes, and on that subject, what I have never managed to understand is how the "NASA lie" CT'ers manage to keep afloat two contradictory moon stories, namely that a) we never went to the moon because we've never had the technology to do so; and b) there was a final, secret mission, Apollo 20, that discovered a crashed alien spaceship (with bodies!) on the far side of the moon. :boggled:
