Continuation Part 3 - Discussion of the Amanda Knox case

Check his Comments section - Frank appears to agree that two jurors were crying...

Lets hope they were crying with laughter on hearing the expected self absorbed sob story.

Apparently there are rumours that the verdict will be announced around 22:00. Also, one of Amanda's lawyers said he expects a verdict before midnight.

I posted earlier that Maresca expects the verdict just after 10:00pm GMT and I would not be surprised if it is nearer to midnight before this is all done and dusted.

Very nervous but extremely hopeful.

I could see the evidence supporting a acquittal, except for the defamation of Patrick, from a legal standpoint (not from truth and fairness).

I cant understand why the Patrick case was even included in this trial for Meredith's justice.

To defend the Patrick case is to fight the Perugia Questura event on Nov 5 /6 and this is a complete case of its own. Its a case of the Perugia Interrogators versus the Amanda.

So one thing to have a weak case and not be able to place the two students as murderers and thief's.

But imo, the Patrick/Interrigation issue is like fighting the entire Perugia police force, without any recordings or legal defense present during the interrogation its their word against her's.

I dont understand why Patricks case was included this trial? Seems odd.

I don't think the Kercher's civil suit or Patrick Lumumba's should have been included. This is a very strange custom to me.

The jurors cried before the Dec 2009 verdict also. No counting on that to mean anything good.

It never made sense that they would leave his apt that had everything they needed to go to the cottage. The story was always ridiculous. Not that it couldn't have been true, but there was no evidence it was.
:jaw-dropp:(

Let's hope the PMF campaign of hate against two wrongly accused people is dealt a fatal blow today with a not guilty verdict. Three jurors appear to be on the side of innocence. It looks good for acquittal.

The Italian judiciary do not generally kow tow to the wishes of NBC, FOX and other TV stations therefore we can expect a verdict when they are good and ready...so be patient!:)

Another insipid one-liner on behalf of the wrong side of the argument, I see?

By rights, an innocent girl who has spent the last four years in a foreign prison might be inclined to a "sob story." I can think of precious few recent stories of despicable injustice comparable to Amanda Knox's.

So what do you think he meant by ?

'True to their duties to show no sign, yes or no.'

Does he write the blog in Italian and then translate it with google or similar?

I don't think so, though at one time it did appear he might have. Also, if you go back to the very beginning of TJMK you can see one of their very first 'issues' was over Frank Sfarzo not wanting Skeptical Bystander to translate his posts, (or help proof read them I forget) anymore as she'd decided to start offering 'editorial' advice and didn't like that it wasn't being followed. She took the opportunity offered by that new platform to 'denounce' Frank Sfarzo.

As for the language I've found a number of native Italian speakers tend to use obscure English words and others in creative ways when conversing in English. I find it endearing and entertaining to read personally, though others don't find it to their taste.

I'd rather a verdict be concluded by quiet rationality rather than emotional pleas.

Is this the sort of condescending, anti-American twaddle you intend to export here from PMF? I doubt you'll be satisfied by the results.

On schedule???

@aadragna I hear 421 accredited now, but only 100 get into the courtroom and only 1 frm each outlet has access to either ct or pressroom.

There's a segment on Bullying on CNN tonight at 8pm est.

I was wondering if it's OK for the majority to bully someone?
I was wondering if it's OK for authorities to bully someone?
I was wondering if it's OK for governments to bully someone?

I was wondering if it's OK to bully Amanda or Raffaele even if they were guilty (which they aren't).

Who said I'm not? I don't care for US tv stations either.;)

On a side note though, I'm tired. It's been a long day. I live in the same time zone as in Perugia. Lots of work today, lots of sitting infront of the computer and TV after work. Not much eating, just to be sure I'm not missing out on some major news etc. I was never, ever so emotionally connected to something that does not concern me or my family.

By that reasoning, I assume you also would exclude the various well-timed appeals to emotion the Kercher family has made over the years in the English papers?

I Thought of that too, but think there's a difference if they cried during Amanda making her plea. Possibly.
